    Great video Declan! Love the view. Fine work with the post driver and setting your posts. Thanks for the video!

    It’s not the tractors it’s the lad following driving them, neither had any bother lifting the weight on the post driver, you hadn’t the case set up right to let the oil back into the tractors backend quick enough, that’s all simple fix end of.

      Yes the man that rented the post driver to me told me to pipe the return into the back end filler cap but the size of the pipe made that impossible and only having it out for the day I had no time to jerry rig anything either. I did however drop the hydraulic oil and put in a new filter that day because my neighbor was convinced it was that. At the end of the day the linkages were of very bad quality in the case and that's were the real issues lied. The john deere was able to manage with both pipes plumbed into the servo aswell no messing around with the back end filler cap. The case only had 4300 hours and the john deere is over 9100 hours.

    8ft posts take a bit of driving, especially in stoney land. A great job 👏 👍

    Good post driver that you bought for your farm. Either tractor should work just fine on the post knocker.

    Really you need a Free flow return, basically fitting that dumps the oil straight into backend, tractor spool valves cause a restriction for machinery with their own spool

    Hello Declan, this post driver is a great piece of equipment and makes the job so much easier. we don't have one nearby, but it would certainly be great to rent to other farmers. we still do it old school by hand. But I'll try it once with our crawler excavator. What did you do with the exhaust on your tractor?? nice !! Greetings from Austria CO Carinthia

    Good man Declan, you didn't give up on the stakes, mighty what a few extra horses can produce for you. 💪🏼
    How's the new helper getting on?

      I didn't give up but I gave myself a good break in between Hahah I'm to opposed to hardship but fencing is one of those jobs i will never like. The two tractors are actually pretty similar horse power wise

      yeah something seemed off the weight was dropping slow when it should fly down

    • @IDoAgri
      @IDoAgri  ปีที่แล้ว

      It was the return pipe causing restrictions for the weight to drop the man I hired it off told me to pipe the return into the back end filler cap but it would not fit down it and I couldn’t Jerry rig anything that day so there was nothing I could do. I tried swapping and changing the pipes every which way I even dropped the hydraulic oil and out in a fresh filter that day thinking that was the issue but no I think it was down to the return restriction and also the linkages for the servos in the cab has issues. In my opinion the case had a great engine and decent back end but they seemed to rush or cheapen it with that low profile cab the linkages in the cab with the lp cab were not good quality

    • @colmanlong1032
      @colmanlong1032 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@IDoAgri agree with the quality issues,but they had very good hydraulics. I had alot of issues myself with linkages 0n a 4210.

    • @IDoAgri
      @IDoAgri  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah I’m sure the hydraulics and back end were well built and designed but yeah some cheap levers and linkages used on it then so I couldn’t get the full power and flow out of the servos. On top of that whoever installed the front loader on it had the pipes interfering with the linkages too making it all worse. I’m sure most case tractors are great machines even most 4200’s but my experience with that one was not great in the end

    The make or model of tractor shouldn't matter the case hydraulic pressure cant be up to 2800 psi which I think is the standard for any tractor

    • @IDoAgri
      @IDoAgri  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it was up to pressure but the flow was restricted somewhere. I think in the end I narrowed it down to the linkages they weren't operating the servos correctly but at the end of the day that is down to the poorer quality of linkage design used on the case when adapted for the lp cab.

    You should sit post rammer on the ground before hammering post into the ground, making the tractor take the strain everytime u lift the monkey is just being hard on things

    Lad you're talking bull set up the case right day one it would do well enough for what you are at same with any tractor does matter the color just the spec end of.

    • @oliver69cork46
      @oliver69cork46 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      He's talking bull-well this video proves that you're quite wrong!!! Nowadays there's not much differences between makes of tractor but 20 plus years ago there were differences between all makes,some were better than others I performance, reliability, work control right down to component quality.

    • @padraigdunne2094
      @padraigdunne2094 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@oliver69cork46 no it doesn't if he tide it up properly and fitted a return line the tractor would work grand end of the comparing 80hp against a sub 100hp tractor will have differences but not with the problems described.lads think having all the bells a whistle are great but fact is 90% of the time you don't need them but when they break they cost near enough 10 times the money. Case hydraulic pump 400 jd hydraulic pump 3500 for example.
      Understanding what you're actually trying to do and not half ass complaining about problems that aren't there.old story of the operator blaming this tools when he never set them up properly in the beginning. And yes the jd is a better tractor because it's bigger = more comfortable.
      has close center hydraulics instead of open like the case.
      It only mater when they are actully worked and like most tractors they aren't
      It's just stupid comparing the 2 when they are in a different hp band 😒 end of then complaining why it dosen't suit trying to justify why to get rid of than fix properly 🤔

      @@padraigdunne2094 just finished reading your message,it's like a continuous sentence rather than a comment with stops etc. Anyway besides that I agree with you,not comparable the 2 tractors here,if it was 80hp both models we could judge fairly. John deere hydraulic performance was always high,I had a few and they were fast,never gave much hassle but did cost alot more if a fault developed. One had a split block unit,it was like a hornets nest in intricate outlets inlets etc but when brakes,steering and lift were engaged suddenly together,bang it went,a hairline fracture,400€ and its the size of 4 cigarette packets together!! Different makes have different characteristics but today they're much more uniform.
