    Since this is a beginner's guide to painting it would be better to list down all the materials used; tools used then the step-by-step procedure like 1) sanding 2) applying primer 3) applying putty 4) sanding 5) applying primer 6) sanding 7) applying final paint so the viewer can better follow what you're doing based on the written step by step procedure. That would be a better guide.

    Thanks for this thoroughly explanatory video... made me realise im not a beginner... ( thought i was) but initially i was thinking how many coats etc... but pleased to see the end result was epic...
    Only a slight tiny criticism... music a teeny bit too loud...perfect track though🙂

    Why switch from random orbital sander for bare wood to pad sander for primed surface?

    Hello, I see that the video doesn't zoom into the actual painted surface so I'm not sure if the "leathery" texture is still there much like what we usually encounter in my shop. I was going to ask how you can remove the seemingly impossible to remove "leathery" texture. Please help.

      Hello, use a short pile roller.... this here was too fluffy, and the paint too thickly applied too.

    I want to use water based on wood but keep the texture of couse can not be clear like woodstain but keep the matte texture after 1 or 2 coat is it possible please make a vidieo

      You can definitely achieve that by using water based matte finish topcoat. Let’s see if I can squeeze in a video regarding that, it’s a quite a good topic anyway. Thanks for your comment

    I really liked your process I'm living in Bangladesh and needed to see a process that can be done in 1 day and the paint materials that is available/possible in our region,
    I wanted to know can I use a spray gun instead of the roller and will the drying time be the same if I use enamel paint?
    Can I speed up the drying process if I leave the painted piece under a ceiling fan?

    • @arkowoodworks4510

      Hi Rana! Thanks for appreciation.
      To answer your question, if you have a spray gun you can definitely use it instead of paint roller. Application will be faster as well as the drying time since spray paint applies thinner layer of paint.
      Humidity and temperature are the two factors for quicker drying time. Higher temperature and low humidity will speed up drying time. Using fan will certainly help, just make sure the surroundings are dust free to prevent it from landing on the painted pieces.

    What brand of wood putty did you used?

  • @apswirl
    @apswirl 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I guess I don’t understand why you apply wood putty after the first coat of primer and not before, and why use so much? Feels like a lot of extra sanding and effort to level all of that.

    • @hayatel2557
      @hayatel2557 หลายเดือนก่อน

      To have a smooth level. The first coat makes it easier to spot imperfections. If you sand with first coat you can't see imperfections properly

    Poor.... The use of a thick pile roller, instead of a short pile.... will leave this leathery, coarse finish, the top coat was much " too thickly " applied.
    Don't do it like this, if you want a nice finish.
