The actors are fine but the writing kinda only tries to be something its not. None of the characters feel like they will be growing and going on a journey, they just kinda are how they are. You had a whole hour to make them feel special and worthy to root for but i didnt get that feeling. Zuko shouldnt be about glory (???) or destiny (yet) but about rage, honor and going home. They ruin so many character moments. Aang doesnt run away, Katara isnt herself at all, they take away all the character flaws which made them interesting in the first place, like Sokkas sexism and how he overcomes it. Also the dialogue and acting r so bad lmao. Its so sad because the sets and the bending look so cool
And this is why the otaku should turn their brains off and enjoy things for what they are not what they want them to be. No adaptation is ever going to be perfect
i watched your video about only murder in the building and i said Angelina is such a cutie so sweet and Inteligent too that im going to see if there's any more of that show unfortunately you didn't or of Wednesday show either because i like mystery and adventure , but i decided to check this one out and i like the kid from the fire nation he's not necessarily bad he just wants to be accepted by his father it;s complex and i can understand that because me and my father were total opposites because he rode horses in the rodeo, and i was afraid of the horses and i liked woodworking projects making chairs etc. except for movies we did like same stuff
In episode one I went into with high hopes. By the end of I had episode two moderate hopes. By the end of episode three… my hopes were dashed. I think it was episode four or five that I just started calling it “The Kids With Magic Powers Show”. 😢 Let’s just stop trying to adapt animation into live action. It was animated(with 20ish episodes) in the first place. Oh and for the record, yeah there are a lot of cool elements in the show, it’s just not a great adaptation, or even retelling.
Technically, if the Airbender dies, there will bo longer airbenders, and noone knows if the Waterbender will be the next Avatar... It is a bit of Ouroborous cycle, will the snake eat itself, or be broken if bites a piece of its body..., and cant get to the next part...
So many butthurt saying its not accurate, i mean like yes there are some things that are not accurate but for what it is, they did a pretty good job, in terms of Live action its really good!
I'm trying to avoid comparing this to the original animated series. However, I can't say this is a good show. Despite having good visuals, the writing is sooooo baaaaaad (overly explanatory, repetitive). The acting has its ups and downs, but i blame the writing mostly. While the casting looks great, the dialogue delivery is so....flat? Lacking emotion?
I don’t really like how they made Katara just already a good bender. It took her a while to get the hang of her skills at first. In the series we see her journey of newbie bender to literal master. This she’s just… automatically good at bending? It just felt like they pushed “girl boss” too hard when Katara is already a universally loved character for how powerful she becomes. It just doesn’t make sense. 🤷♂️
Her journey, and Sokka's journey to mastery were incredibly rushed in the cartoon. Neither should have ever been able to reach the mastery that they had, and it never made sense for Katara to be Aang's master when his waterbending ability completely eclipsed her ability on his very first training session. At least here they are rushing her while also slowing him down via his reluctance to train so that when she finally becomes his teacher, it actually makes some kind of sense. They are also demonstrating in the live action that Sokka has a much stronger understanding of the fundamentals of martial arts from his own training back home than they did in the cartoon.
I really wanted to love this and I hate being that guy... But the show is just not doing it for me. Halfway through and its kinda meh. Nothing truly bad but I feel like the tone and writing just did not hit. Love the actors but seriously some lines are absolute trash.
@@MrNoLen5 what do you mean that is literally something that happened in the show. I personally loved the show i hope that if it happens in season 2 they take every criticism that people had with the first season and flip it around and improve on it so that everyone will love it.
It's a bit "Shakespeare in the park", but I like what they seem to be doing with sokka, if he's on a "become a geopolitical warrior" arc rather than the "learn to not be sexist", which really won't give him much to do compared to emphasizing plan-guy. Also, the firebending effects evoke some pretty grim flamethrower/napalm imagery from ww2 & Vietnam. It could get super dark if they deliberately dwell on it.

Aang doesnt run away, Katara isnt herself at all, they take away all the character flaws which made them interesting in the first place, like Sokkas sexism and how he overcomes it. Also the dialogue and acting r so bad lmao. Its so sad because the sets and the bending look so cool
Lifes too short to hate so why spread it everywhere u go. Love what u can and move on
@@snowdrop1414 not spreading hate just disappointed lol
This!!!! It looks good but feels empty...
@@snowdrop1414giving your personal opnion on a show is hate??
And this is why the otaku should turn their brains off and enjoy things for what they are not what they want them to be. No adaptation is ever going to be perfect
I believe the word you're looking for is precedence
i watched your video about only murder in the building and i said Angelina is such a cutie so sweet and Inteligent too that im going to see if there's any more of that show unfortunately you didn't or of Wednesday show either because i like mystery and adventure , but i decided to check this one out and i like the kid from the fire nation he's not necessarily bad he just wants to be accepted by his father it;s complex and i can understand that because me and my father were total opposites because he rode horses in the rodeo, and i was afraid of the horses and i liked woodworking projects making chairs etc. except for movies we did like same stuff
In episode one I went into with high hopes.
By the end of I had episode two moderate hopes.
By the end of episode three… my hopes were dashed.
I think it was episode four or five that I just started calling it “The Kids With Magic Powers Show”. 😢
Let’s just stop trying to adapt animation into live action. It was animated(with 20ish episodes) in the first place.
Oh and for the record, yeah there are a lot of cool elements in the show, it’s just not a great adaptation, or even retelling.
Fire Nation went off! :D
I hope you enjoy it!!!
I love it. Better the One Piece live action. It's just One Piece fans are more loyal.
Technically, if the Airbender dies, there will bo longer airbenders, and noone knows if the Waterbender will be the next Avatar... It is a bit of Ouroborous cycle, will the snake eat itself, or be broken if bites a piece of its body..., and cant get to the next part...
Dont think you understood the anime...it wasnt just "bad because of bad" and "good because of good".
Sokka IS THE BEST!!!!!!
Zuko didn’t say honor once🥲 and gyatso went down by the hands of 3 rather than 50?
Sozin is easily amongst the strongest fire-benders to exist because genetics combined with top training. Gyatso wasn't killed by no-names this time.
Gyatso dropped more than 3 guys in that scene; it's a little more badass to me that only Sozin himself could defeat him
I’m a big fan
I don’t really like how they made Katara just already a good bender. It took her a while to get the hang of her skills at first. In the series we see her journey of newbie bender to literal master. This she’s just… automatically good at bending? It just felt like they pushed “girl boss” too hard when Katara is already a universally loved character for how powerful she becomes. It just doesn’t make sense. 🤷♂️
What ? She's awful in this episode, can barely make a bubble, she gradually learns through S1
Love the actors but seriously some lines are absolute trash.
it is so good
I didn't enjoy it. But I hope you did... It's better than the movie at least.
The bending and the action were good though so kudos to the action designers and vfx team.
It is so sad, I see why the creators left. Like Godzilla??? Really???
I'm 2 episodes in and loving it
@@MrNoLen5 what do you mean that is literally something that happened in the show. I personally loved the show i hope that if it happens in season 2 they take every criticism that people had with the first season and flip it around and improve on it so that everyone will love it.
My exact thoughts
Couldn't an Airbender pop somebody's lungs?
Angelina you will love my stop motion avatar star wars but you might dislike some changes it's for both fans of star wars and avatar

Could be worse, its not falling of a precipice or anything...
i wacht it who's with me?? and i was in that movie
