- This might be the most overpowered setup yet, between the Amulet of Shadows and the Ring of Surroundings, we can sneak into just about anywhere and steal whatever we want with no one seeing a thing, right at the start of the game!

Instructions unclear. Wound up in this town in Cyrodiil called "Alswell", and I can't seem to turn the chameleon off.
The locals said they'll ask the resident hermit wizard about it, so everything should be fine
yeah, just be sure to get his ring before you go casting anything, you could say he's less than transparent with the risks involved!
Using this knowledge, I broke into Vivec's Palace and stole this strange bronze gauntlet from him. Not feeling so good though... Think I'm gonna go take a nap.
Ha! Good target!
Me as a veteran Morrowind Player: What a fool... /S
There is a really easy way to test if the chameleon effect stacks. Simply enchant 10 rings of 10% chameleon then use all of them in quick succession before sneaking around If the rings stack you should be completely undetectable, but if they don't you should only have roughly 55% chameleon.
Dang waffles, that's a nice hat you got there.
Fantastic video, they are just getting better and better!
Thanks man!
Probably worth mentioning that theres another Ring of Surroundings available at fort moonmoth next to balmora as a reward for Larrius Varro's quest where he asks you to kill the 5 Canomma Tong people in the Council Club.
In fact, if you're using Patch for Purists, that's the ONLY way to get it, as they remove the Dren Plantation instance.
5:05 !!! Finally! I being looking to know his Location! Because he is , well, let’s just say he’s on my top kill list. For the awful slavery and cruelty he have committed . Thus! Justice have to be served with his head off!
As an outlander, I appreciate this👍
Glad to hear it!
Thanks for the video, I didnt know about the ring of surroundings and used it with amulet of shadows to steal back from the museum of artifacts my lords mail and Umbra Sword. ( also it is really funny if you try to sell those items again at the museum )
That's a great way to make some quick money, just gotta remember not to mention any of the "reclaimed" items to her while they're in you inventory. She gets a little upset lol
I dunno why being upset, as I heroically reclaimed the stolen artifacts from the evil invisible thief that plagued the museum 20 seconds ago@@Gitshiver
Theres also a second ring of surroundings available from Fort Moonmoth if you complete Larrius Varros quest to kill the balmora council club members.
NICE
so true!
As far as the folks on OpenMW have found, and my own tests, chameleon stacks additively, up to a crisp 100% for the purposes of detection (effectively invisibility level) and up to 500% for the purposes of dodge chance (chameleon provides 0.2 of its value like agility up to a maximum of 100 like sanctuary)
Also just poke your head through and angle your camera in third person to grab items lul
Big brain idea!
All fine and dandy, but every time someone describes how to exploit and cheese the game, or meta-game to reach powerful equipment early on, it makes me wonder - if you're going out of your way to break the game like that, why not just use the console command to give yourself all the stuff you want and save yourself the trouble?
That's too easy.
That would be cheating
