Too many unreadable moves in this game. It will never be able to thrive commercially or compete in the shooter market cuz if a new player gets on and gets killed like this or by a wrap shot ; anything that looks like it could’ve been a glitch or lag they are just gonna say “ fuck this game” like they always do. I really hope that gears 6 can have high skill ceilings without it feeling as if it all has to be the result of some broken or exploitable actions. that when done can’t be read, understood or countered and instead is a very polished game where you can watch and learn from your mistakes and not have to go to TH-cam to figure out how someone essentially broke the game by breaking their controller or giving themselves carpal tunnel in the process . I love gears of war as a series sooo much but damn do all the exploits really rub me the wrong way and are constantly present in my mind when I play as if I know the matches are rigged ….and don’t get me wrong I’m guilty of using moves like this too. Just don’t personally feel with as many of these kind of exploits existing as there are it’ll be hard for this game to be a hit with new players .
I personally agree to a certain extent this game having so many moves I kinda what introduces a wider skill gap between fights. However I personally prefer gears of war 2 or gears of war 3 type of games. Personally gears is always going to be a small game because unless they super dumb down the game people are always going to stop playing after getting smoked to a gears veteran. That’s what keep players like us playing the game when we could had been switched to another title. I was personally attracted during gears of war 2 to the reaction shots and fast paced wall bouncing.

At the same time it allows ppl to have that info at their fingertips just as equally . Even for vets I’m sure we can all agree going against these tactics can be extremely frustrating because In the moment even we can be left in confusion as to what may have happened or how I happened and how it even worked lol. . Just kind spoils what I feel like could be a more “pure” fun where it is an even playing field my skill against your skill not my skill against your exploits which to me is what it feel like when playing g4 or g5. I agree looking things up and all that could be more of a positive tool to connect ppl just don’t like that it’s us sharing exploits . Like when I get up here I would rather see like how to improve your aiming in g5 and then when I watch it’s like tips on sensitivity or how to better snipe a moving target . Instead (no offense cuz it’s not anyones fault but the e games and the devs) we get “ how to shoot through this wall “, “How to make a player forever hate gears by consistently shooting out your characters asshole “, “Which control scheme provides the least amount of delay , which one prioritizes movement above the others” etc . I just hate tbh at it always boils down to practicing broken mechanics man just feels dirty imo but again can’t blame anyone but the devs unfortunately. I’m sorry for always popping up like a Debbie downer . I just love gears so much and I truly never thought I would start to give up on it . Like the amount of time I’ve dedicated to playing gears just to walk away from it (sort’ve) is just a shocker to even myself .
Agree, this type of moves should not be in the game. Play the orginal trilogy alot lately and enjoy it very much. No moves like this, just victory because of map control, aim and position. Wallbounce just to hopefully doge a shot and 2v 1 lancer and you dead.
