I love all of the characters and refrences to past mario titles like how Jolly Roger Isle has the Cavi Cape theme from M&L BIS and how you fight Mr. L from SPM. The beta Whomps are also a neat addition.
Same Mr.L was a real suprise to me

This made me alot more nostalgic than i expected, it really is like if Mario 64 had a sequel

You should try SM64: Last Impact! It's decently old, but it still holds up _really well_. It's much closer to modern hacks than the other hacks coming out at the time, and was super impressive when it released.
That was really creative and looked super fun. Though I'm willing to bet Dave missed something somewhere! One doesn't go that over the top without including a little something extra at the end for 100% (Plus 43 is such a weird number to leave off with x.x)

The textures for the Thwomps and Whomps in the Whomps Fortress area are early versions that were used in an early version of the game. Also, is that a different victory animation for when Mario gets a star?

A Super Mario World hack you need to play is SMW2 Around the World. Really amazing hack. Great custom music lots of new gimmicks. Cool level design and secret codes scattered throughout the game. There’s a total of 15 worlds. It’s huge.
If only DLC was something that could actually be done in 1996…

DGR! Long time no see bro! I've been a subscriber for YEARS bro. I first started watching your "Oregon Trail II" video, and then I went to Super Expert No-Skip series, and then your One life challenge series, then a YOLO and a few troll series. I gotta admit, I do love some trolls, but it gets kind of, well, I'm not gonna say boring because you're hard at work in editing videos and such, but it just gets... *REPETITIVE* That's the word I was looking for!

I thought this game did get DLC in the form of a re-release at full price for the DS.

It could've been considered "DLC", had the N64DD actually been bundled with the console at launch; with software to take advantage of it earlier.

This could've been DLC back in the day had the N64DD been bundled with console at launch. The Zip Disk software would've cost no more 4,268.03. Now that's in Japanese Yen; but in Dollar form, that translates to $29.99!

This looks like a great companion game to SM64! Adds enough new content while keeping plenty of the old. The music isn't the best, but still enjoyable.

This is an amazing hack
I really enjoy that it did feel like it was kind of a sequel, too many hacks imo try to be so different that the few that do capture the feel of an official game are all the more "fair" like seriously so many purposely try to be "kaizo 64" and thus make you feel like you have to go play the original over and over to master it just to then enjoy a challenge hack that is 1/10th the size of the original in the grand scheme of things
Like I get lots of people probably have replayed 64 so many times that actually having a challenge hack is welcome but some of us just want to recapture that feeling of playing it for the first time, but still having some of the skills from the original or whatever..
Much like Dave, he is good at the game but I doubt he would enjoy some other stuff that like a speedrunner of 64 would play that would need some of the niche tech or requiring BLJs hyperspeed to get some stars or whatever
I have seen hacks that one star takes the same amount of time that getting like 3-4 stars in the base game would take casually or something and that is just like.. why did you do that? Why is that fun?
Anyways... 43 stars is a weird number to end on.. not 45?
THE DLC IS REAL
i was wonder why the last part leading up to the bowser boss fight green pipe was familiar its i wouldnt say a copy but a mario 64 version of the gex 3 space level leading up to Rez finale boss fight which was also on the 64, now that i think about it the low gravity gave it away as well as the Giant boss in middle of the arena
