this is purely a guess, but it might not be possible. my guess is that each individual chest actor is hard coded with 1 piece of the combination, so the hack can rearrange the chests, but not overwrite the order with a conditional random number generator. Then again, we are talking about Kaze. If anyone could, it would be Kaze.

It's depressing the game crashes so much, this is probably one of the most interesting and well thought out SM64 rom hacks I've seen most of them are just lazy enemy spam or 'haha that ground doesn't exist, aren't I clever' type hacks

this reminds me of a video where someone was playing something called "sonic the hedgehog omochau edition"... EVERY time she collected a ring the game would STOP and display a message "you got another ring" for TEN SECONDS! it took her 15 minutes to finish the first level! in the normal game it takes under 2 minutes!
