    This is why Nigeria will be far better than Ghana in this perspective. In Nigeria 🇳🇬, its FreeHold. In Nigeria, once you own it, you own it for life.
    LeaseHold in my opinion is the same mess in America where you pay taxes on a property for life simply because you dont own the land which means no freedom lol 😅😅

    Earlier this year I bought a piece of land in Arkansas. The owner before me bought the land IN 19 0 1 and I guess the family kept up the taxes until it was sold. Seems like for land ownership. The more secure and straightforward way to online for generational wealth is in the United States and Africa. I would buy something cheap. Build something inexpensive. Because I know eventually, it's going to be a loss for me or my descendants. And of course without my knowledge expertise and understanding, if I don't live 2 or 300 years to defend the renewals and legals myself. It's going to be a loss.

    Upsetting thats theres no freehold properties left . Why can't it be like Jamaica from when you buy a plot of land it is yours forever why does it have to be a lease hold who's got time to find the family or an organisation to renew the land contract after 50 or 70 years that's frustrating. That means it's not yours you'd lose interest if you didn't renew your land when you've built a property on there if you fell sick or died instantly the family would be distressed for renewal land why can't the land just be yours who moves to a country that you have to keep renewing after certain amount of time you might as well stay in the uk 😮.

    I was told you put your next of kin can be put under the emergency people that can speak for you and you can change ownership to other family members but have to contact the royal family and chief and a little one name to become older on it for emergency person who can speak for you and Property transfer to them

    What if through marriage is it not the right of the person to own free hold in marriages from a US person ? If person dies later no family or anyone can remove that person from the free hold after they build and invested with their spouse?

      Freehold is hard to acquire even for Ghanaian Citizens. The lands commission automatically gives 99 years to Ghanaians

    Are there any special land ownership / leasing rules for AAs who have been declared to be from Ghanaian descent through using ancestry testing? Also, what does becoming a Ghanaian citizen mean in terms of land ownership?

    This was far from clear, and consise information. A crucial subject matter such as this needs a far more thorough, clear-cut explanation than this chap managed to provide. I'm afraid it was all a bit all over the place. No fault of the interviewer, though.

    • @GhanaBound
      @GhanaBound  ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh ok so we have the documents for each developer that we work. Land searches are done. In a small case the land is owned by an individual not a family or chief and was been done before the rule change with court papers to prove the case. But in most cases people in Ghana who actually own freehold land do not sell it.i hope that answers your questions.
