This is ashamed that after being in slavery in America and wanting to come home back to Ghana Africa they have adopted their slave masters practices you can’t own land outright in Ghana it’s the same way in America thru taxes Lord Help😢😢😢😢
This was actually to ensure that foreigners aka the Lebanese, Chinese and Europeans don't become the owners of the Ghanaian land, which is essentially what was happening. This preserves the land for the rightful original owners the chiefs and family etc who in some views are not necessarily owners bur rather custodians who are taking care of the land for God. Some would argue all the land belongs to God.
Yes whats even more heartbreaking is we lost our land when we were thrown into slavery. Now they are making it impossible for us to get our land back..wtf
@@TheGoalisSublime yes but they can make it so it locks them out. Lebanese chinese etc. indian does this. You are able to repatriate back to india if you are a indian descendant but if you are not you cant. Why cant ghana do the same. Its just unfair that they are closing the door on us. We did not ask to be thrown into slavery!
1. What are registeriable interets of the land & make sure the land is registered under your name via grant of land owner 2.. Its impossible to get free hold land from kings/chief/family. Only up to 50 years. 99 years isn't possible unless outside Accra 3. Put renewal terms in the lease. Price & other things so when renewal time comes the inheriter will know whats necessary. Ask for automatic renewal or simple terms and subsequent renewals for heirs 4. Do a high courts search to know if the land is under litigation 5. Zoning search (land use and spacial authority search) 6. Ground Rent Search (all owners must pay 7. Custom land secritariet registry ( family/clan/chief) in every community

The whole of Africa must be developed and not just Ghana. It is a good idea for you to look else for land. Others will still go to Ghana because of their spiritual connection with their ancestors. Out of Africa and now Back to Africa, is first and foremost, spiritual. And many African Diaspora are willing to endure and make sacrifices.

Yes, if the land was privately owned on freehold before the legislation was changed and it was passed down to you it can be transferred to you, your very lucky, it's very rare to find.
I can tell you from my personal experience that Emmanuel is a very, very good lawyer...I highly recommend him. He is very detailed and he explains everything, every step of the way.
Sounds like if you are going to be leasing properties in Ghana that you will need a lawyer. This lawyer sounds really good. But, it makes me wonder if it is really worth it to be leasing properties for 50 years. Let's say you go to Ghana at 25 and lease a property. Do you really want to be going through that again at 75? You will have to come up with more money for the renewal. Also, does it work the same for these houses on plots of land in these masterplan communities? What about buying an apartment unit? Do you have to renew after 50 years? Ghana sounds too complicated to me. There are so many other African countries where you can straight out buy the land.
In Ghana assumed renewal is written into law, also lawyers now advise the terms for renewal are also written in the initial lease. Lease terms with 50 years with 49 years renewal are common. Also if the owner of the property/land had the freehold before the law was changed there are ways it can be transferred. I hope that gives a bit of a clearer picture. Thanks for taking time out of your day to join us in the comments section.

I’m very disappointed….
Don't give up just take your time and do research. Many Americans own land and yes a few were scammed but don't give up.👍🏾💞🇬🇭

Which?
Does this mean the land and homes that the prince in Asebu Village is giving away will never be owned by the Diasporans that are building homes there?
Exactly what that means. They could take it all away.
