I'm way more impressed by the S9+ than I thought I'd be. Still prefer portrait colors on iPhone, but the S9+ is pretty killer for those low-light shots. Stoked to see the S9 vs Pixel 2. I think I know which one will be the winner. 😉 Great video! 👍

I've personally noticed my iPhone X always overexposing everything. I always have to pull it back, I dont know how Apple is metering light on this phone but its way off all the time. Great tests, Krystal.
Tap to focus and slide up or down to adjust the exposure. It usually helps me get better photos.

iPhone's overexposing issue have been around for quite a long while. They always like to overexpose the background to give a more brighter and warmer looking foreground. It could be quite annoying as sometime the entire background gets blown out and it looks like i'm just a floating head, it's lesser on the back camera though. Hopefully Apple will fix that, by far Pixel beats everyone in front camera.

Funny how you used to like the "more natural colours" of the past iPhones, but now that the situation is reversed it's not a problem anymore. Also, I don't know why you keep saying the S9 images look softer. @4:00 you claim the S9 picture looks softer, but it clearly doesn't. Just compare the hair area of the statues, you can clearly see that the iPhone picture is the softer one.
I don't understand why you prefer the warmer tones of iPhone X photos either. If you take some of these shots to photoshop and compare the whites with a colour picker, you can see that the S9 photos have more balanced whites overall, meaning the photos are closer to what they are supposed to be.
There were couple of cases though where the iPhone photos had superior white balance, like the night shot of the text that said "white deer", but overall S9 main camera was performing better on sharpness, colours and dynamic range. Selfies seemed better on iPhone X though, S9 was overexposing the shots and they truly looked softer.
You are clearly biased towards iPhones, no offence, because it's just fine for you to prefer iPhone X as a person. But you shouldn't let your personal preferences affect your comparisons and tell obvious lies like you did about the sharpness. I have eyes you know.

I noted the same thing. People would complain about Samsung's saturation in the past but now they seem okay with it since the apple is doing it. Anyway saturation can be changed easily. S9 plus has the better of the two cams

Damian Pani the point is tho that those colors can be edited afterwards regardless of how it does straight in the camera app. If the S9 takes better pictures and then you can change the colors to warmer or however you prefer, than you should obviously go with the s9 over the x.

iphone is made for selfies and"social networking" user experience (its the "if you're trying to get laid" phone). S9 is the phone better for professionalism, document keeping, better camera overall not accentuating human tones like the iphone, it's literally made for technical people, sucks with snapchat has no cool social mediums like imessage, good emoji's, ease of gettign content up on social media platforms, etc (not really dedicated towards the "social networking" user).

Walls A Oh okay we will be sleeping real well with our fast charging that comes with the phone or fast wireless charging which Apple does not have. I can listen to music and charging my s8 with my portable charger instead of adding a dongle on the iPhone. Back to the video about the pics, you would put more night photos of you and your crew at the clubs than in the day on social media which s9+ is king. S9+ is overall the winner
lol all good, I prefer apple's ecosystem which is the best ecosystem overall hands down. I give it a year until samsung removes the headphone jack lmao! I can listen to music whilst charging too. AirPods or Homepods or my dedicated home theater klipsch system lol. It's all about your preferred ecosystem though, I don't like android at all (it even sucks on my sony tv and keeps crashing it..thank God for the apple tv lol)
The video taken from S9 is not so saturated in real life. The Macbook makes it look bad. Some problem with REC2020 colour profile or something.

The problem have never been about realistic colors actually, iPhone usually have more pleasing skin tones (one of the biggest reason people prefer iPhone's camera). I would clearly say S9's pictures look way more realistic and less processed in my opinion, and i would say they look way better. I don't know why she kept saying S9's pictures where softer though, i still haven't got that, it does have softening int he front camera but S9's back camera is really sharp. It's interesting that she said the macro shots of S9 being sharper.

But 80% of the people in the world use android phones and so are biased towards all kinds of android phones in comparison to iOS devices.
The S9+ definitly is a great device and in some scenarios comes close to the more expensive iPhone X. Its really a great phone for people that cant afford an iPhone.

First of all, the galaxy phones have a higher production cost so they are inherently a more expensive phone putting market forces aside. The reason iphones retail for a higher price is in order to increase their profit margins. In fact, Apple has the biggest profit margin of any other company on the planet. People still continue to pay the higher price for an iphone because its extreme user-friendliness, reliability and customer support puts it at a very high demand. Apple's user-friendliness however, comes at the expense of customizability and range of features, which brings me back to why some people (especially the technically more adept people) will always go for an android over an iphone.
Suggesting that the iphone is "objectively better" is genuinely a stupid comment (no offense). If anything, more expertise probably goes into creating a Galaxy than goes into an Iphone.

I think s9 did better job. Because they have DRAM built in camera. That helps noise reduction. Only flow is front facing camera. I get a camera software update and stabilisation improves on s9. That's all. ✌

Looks like Samsung has finally stepped up with their cameras. I can't believe I'm saying this but I choose the S9.
Many selfies were better on the iPhone, but all in all I think Samsung did a higher quality performance in the comparison.

Loving my s9+ camera. Just wish I had more of a life because I rarely ever travel to exciting places where I can take amazing photos. The best I can do is during a sunset or sunrise lol. iPhone X camera is pretty dope as well but the lowlight on the s9+ is beautiful. I'll probably get a skin later on down the road. For now I'm rocking my ringke wave case

For me the iPhone x wins ,i repeat is My opinión , the s9 has a good camera but i like a little more the iphone
2 Years after its release, I opted to get an S9 instead of a S10 (S20 is out of bounds) or an iPhone; this video was quite interesting and I kind of expected the iPhone to bring better results than Galaxy, though to my liking, I was impressed how good, most of the times even better, the main camera is. True, iPhone colors, to me, look just great, even when they look unnatural - I would adjust my pics to look like that. But sharpness, exposure, and gosh, low light; these seem to have a much better result on the Galaxy. Not the same could be said about the selfie cam, where tables turn, but overall, both looked ok.
The people who say the s9+ won its for they never had the money for the iPhone x, who is the one who really won 🤦😂😂

S9+ is the best
I want to prefer the S9 Plus, but in the color department, the X just straight up murders it.
You only like the iPhone's portrait mode because it makes you look better. Samsung has more natural colours as compared to iPhone's. Though the videos are sometimes garbage.
But most Photographers I know who use S9+ and iPhone X simultaneously always say that the iPhone is always saturated whereas the S9+ sometimes makes pictures a tad too bright.
But they almost always say without a doubt that when you want a picture closest to the image processing of a DSLR camera, it's S9+.
Granted it still needs work. So does the iPhones'.

S9 plus battery life is pretty good. It will last 5-7 hours with reasonable use(with 1440p display it will be around 4-5).

I have a question. Does the camera on the Galaxy S8 sharper than the Galaxy S9 because of the dual lens camera? I really dont know because when Krystal did the camera comparison on the S8, she did not comment about the pictures being soft and here on the S9 when she uses the live focus on the S9, the picture came out to be soft in comparison to the iPhone X. And when in lowlight, the picture came out softer than I expected. And I noticed when you use the other camera lens on the Galaxy S9, it is really soft, softer in comparison to the Galaxy S8.
I believe the S9s are recording 4K video with WCG now. Hence the colors looking kinda crazy on standard displays. There's probably a way somewhere in the settings to disable that.

In my opinion, without any bias, Samsung won for all the photos. However, I don't think they've won the video. I don't get the designer's purpose for putting so much contrast in their video. They've told us that S9+'s main difference is camera.... Yes, there is a lot of difference, but in a bad way.
When u take a picture on just the iPhone X u think wow this is great! When u take it and compare it to the s9 plus, it makes the iPhone pic look like a nice try
The thing is: You can fix colors(even though there was little to "fix", but you can't fix an over exposed photo. The S9+ won.

The S9, just like most Eastern OEMs, lean toward whitening faces because they think whiter is prettier. That softer, "lighter" and "blurry" look is basically a beautification filter.

The iPhone X photo's, on almost every shot, if not every, were better in my opinion. At 4:30 you're talking about over exposure of the sky? What? The iPhone photo looks 10x better. You can actually see detail in the sky & the clouds. With the S9 it was all blended. Sky's don't often look like that. The trees, due to the sky looking blended in the S9, also blend in to the sky. Which doesn't look good.

Annoying thing about the S9 is the Auto Mode is horrible with adapting to and sticking to the light when you're recording. It's constantly raising and lowering the brightness of your video that it becomes too distracting. I have to resort to using the so called Pro Mode which turns off the variable aperture thingy. Also on a hot summer day, the lens gets blurry you have to clean it every 5 seconds.
I consider myself an AMATEUR photographer. Looking at the pics you where showing, the iPhone always crunched the blacks and in the picture of you holding the SB cup, the iPhone made you look like you had a claw for a hand. In most of the pics the iPhone made you look very orange ruining your skin tone. With a DSLR I shot in raw which gives you much more info than JPEG format and do correction in post. This camera appears to be geared more towards a photographer or informed amateur that doesn't always have their DSLR.
The video capabilities of the Samsung GS 9+ also looked more fluid as the iPhone looked very shaky. The SGS9+ did look a little stop and go but that could very easily be the memory card speed.
Iam a Samsung fan, but Iphone X killed it!!

I'd say it this way: Iphone has better post-processing, but Samsung has definitely better camera hardware-wise. If you were shooting RAW images (personally I always do), the image would definitely look better on Samsung.
Wtf, it's obviously that you're just an iPhone fan girl, S9+'s pictures were more natural and detailed than iPhone's, and not as oversaturated as its, and despite of that you kept saying you preferred the iPhone X. For sure, I liked iPhone's selfies and videos more than S9+'s, I think S9+'s colors were just too vibrant. I think it's a tie for me.

Even apple uses Samsungs displays, gee I wonder why and what's that tell you? Their displays are the absolute best, no contest. The s9+ is also the camera winner. The duel aperture camera is also a first!
