Music- • tranquillity - lofi hi...
you can just see how humble he is talking about his journey
Hahaha appreciate it 🙏🏼
That intro for a high school runner is a huge flex no hate
It was a crazy year for sure 😂
Such a fun series, thank you for making it 🙌🏼
Thank you so much for watching dude!
Could you go through your standford application and the whole process of what it was like getting recruited?
Charles, we are overdue for Part 4 😁 I wanted to say congrats for your wins, but I'm going to go with "Thank you" for being an inspiration to so many... for real.
Just got back from a late night run. Love the content dude 👍
Ayy me too!
you love to see it
I really enjoyed watching these, thanks for doing this. As a father to a local (Jax) athlete that is now going on to run D1 in college, its great to see how many great runners come from North Florida and Florida in general. I enjoyed watching your career at Bolles and have watched as you have gone on to college. I was also born in England, so who knows maybe you and Dylan (3k Steeple) may run together for GB.... That would be something for a couple of Jax kids. Congrats and continued success.
This means the world to me, I hope we'll compete together someday!
The Jacksonville area currently has the state's best high school distance runner in Rheinhardt Harrison from Nease high. Bradley Ball also graduated from Nease high the year before. Incredible talent in Jacksonville.
This inspired me so much. I kept getting injured my FR/soph yr and now going into my junior year, I'm even more motivated to do well and hopefully get in some good summer training 💪. Thank you for this series!!
You've got this! Time is your greatest asset 💪
congrats! You just took first place at the NCAA 2022 XC championship Nov. 19, 2022...The FIRST Stanford runner to take the NCAA title!!
We need a series like this, but for his college career, sense it’s over now
You're a genuine good dude and extremely mature! Much respect 🙏
love the time concept. i was injured almost all of high school and i have dropped my 5k in freshman year of college from 17:13 to hopefully sub 15:00 indoors! this last 6 months has changed my life
Well you certainly deserve your spot as an athlete at Stanford. Best wishes. You are a great role model about opportunity and persistence. BIG HUGS
You too!!
Thank you for sharing, Charles!
My Grandfather's name is 'Charles' too.
I'm so sorry that your Track Season was cut off with these unprecedented times. I hope you and your family are staying healthy and safe!
Thanks man, I hope all is well with you too!
You're welcome!!
Thank you!
You should talk more about that ben Foltz kid, he seems really interesting
who?
At 71, I feel confident to see Charles win a gold medal at the Olympics.
I'm here again watchin'. I am rooting for you. Best of luck in everything you do.
Thank you!!
@@charleshicks Can't wait for another video. Please do A Day In the life Quarantine. Personal Vlog please.. Thanks
I feel your pain with the 4x800 loss. We were the favorites this year and won milesplits SC fantasy meet, but don’t actually get to win it. :(
I hear ya, you should be proud of being in that position tho nonetheless!
fantastic story, im an english hurdler and its good to see the difference in the usa system compared to uk
that's awesome!
Appreciate you sharing your incredible journey. Your combination of raw talent, hard work, and humbleness is inspiring. Hope you’re loving Stanford. It’s a wonderful place. What were your other final college considerations?
In my state (Illinois) doing what you did is called the Triple Crown. Winning xc, 3200, and 1600 at state is incredible.
Charles! 10:35 haha you were so excited to finish that race! :-D.
I've really loved watching your videos these past few weeks! Can't wait for more of them and for when you start your sophomore year at Stanford this fall!
It sounds like 4:06/4:07 is your 1600m PR for high school; what's your current PR, Charles? Also, I think in your videos you said that college runners do a 3000m race? Is that because it lines up with what they do in the Olympics?
Would love a response to this comment if you read it! You're inspiring me to want to run more and to be the best I can be! =D
haha I only ran one indoor mile before the season ended so those are still my PRs and I think that's why they do the 3k!
I was at your senior year season opener!! I enjoyed racing you the few times I did.
CONGRATS ON 5K!!!
THANK YOU!!!
Awesome video. I like how you took us through the race and explained the background of the race. I was at the FSU Relays you mentioned. That was a great race by McLeod, Phillips, and you. Congratulations on your success and looking forward to see what's next in your running future.
INSANE times!!! Loved the series and your videos!
So glad you enjoyed!!!
Your channel has definitely blown up😂road to 10k
For two seasons of regionals, I also had a rival player from another region who I beat in my sophomore year (I was a regional champion for the first time). The next year, we faced yet again in the finals and I masked my underlying pre game anxiety with overconfidence from being the defending champion, but that year was her last playing year (I was a junior and she was a senior) and she apparently went all out when we played. It was a really tough and nerve wracking match with every region cheering around us as we played, but I lost after many deuces. It was hard for me to accept the loss. I was still qualified for nationals though, whiiiich was cancelled. I don’t think there will be competitions this year, and it’s sad considering that it’s my last playing year in high school.
Love the vid bro! Your story is super inspiring I hope you continue to have success in college
Thank you so much!
Great series very enjoyable
I feel like it was last week when this channel had less than 1k subscribers
Same dude 😂
keep putting out great content man ggs
Thanks man!
I am an athlete for Slavia Prague *do not know if you know the club it is from the Czech Republic. Even though I run short tracks your videos are very motivating!
Thank you!
I'm so glad you're enjoying them!

Hey charles i know this is a late comment but what kind of running and mainly workouts you did during summer training?
you went to private school and had 2 family members who had attended Stanford before you, do you think these factors had a strong bearing on your admission to Stanford?
Letsss goooooo

What’s your opinion on high schoolers doing doubles everyday?
I think as long as you're being careful and not overtraining, it shouldn't be too much of an issue. Burnout would be my main concern but what doesn't work for some may work for others so I'd just be mindful of how you're feeling.
What grades did you get to be accepted by Stanford?
Your fan from India
Much love to you dude!
This man is paying his tuition with ad revenue
