Knowing that even long before she became a trainee she'd been independently joining dancing and singing classes by herself with a definite goal of being an idol since a very young age helps with not being as worried about her debuting so early.
I don't know. I think that is even worse. She has even less of a normal childhood than I first thought.
@@dmi33 thats her own decision. No one is forcing her. She is like those child actors and actresses who act on television. Some of them even started at 3 years old. So why don’t you worry about those kids too?
😭😭 not the 3 year old making their own decisions. Never in the history does a child decide that on their own. It’s the parents (who can recognise a child’s talent and love for something or even force). It’s been happening and it will happen in the future. Doesn’t make it any less sad for all child entertainers. We can only hope that they are well taken care after. We have a lot of examples of when things go wrong. We can only hope it doesn’t for them.

I didn't listen to their whole album but hype boy is really really good like addicting even ! Their music type is really cool and they seem really talented, they're just young (which of course come with some issues like lyrics and stuff...)
They're not any younger than boy groups who have debuted. I don't understand why with this particular group age keeps being brought up when they're not the first ones to debut at 14, 16, 17, 18 yrs old

the girls are really talented, two of the girls took part in writing this song and one of the other songs if im not mistaken. the youngest is 14 and the other are around 16-18. i really like their music tho i think it was about time a kpop group finally went with this type of sound and i admire them for taking the risk because is not a song you usually hear in kpop.

I saw attention to be an interpretation of a lot of the 90s and early 00s. Nostalgia is a big trend but its always a reinterpretation if you didn't live it. There is apparently a fascination with american teen movies (koreans call them high-teen movies) and so those tropes and things just made me think of all the books movies songs styling and shows that I personally think of when i think of this time period as someone who was born in 1995

i really don't get why people react so negatively when they see new jeans ages. Basically everyone from Bts was underage when signing the contract for BigHit but no one talks about that because they're BTS. I dont have a problem with minors being in the industry. i have problems when it comes to managment.

As a casual listener, Hype Boy is a nice song you guys should check it out. I personally think hybe boy actually fit their age unlike their other 2 songs.

The ending cracks me up, because it was predebut, no info on members when I saw it, and they do the close up on each of the girls faces and then the boy. When I watched it first I was like "oh close up on each girl, I can learn faces..." then the boy pops up as if he's a hidden extra member. My brain is dumb as hell but I'm still finding it funny.
Yeah the ages thing is weird to me, but it's nothing new in the industry. It can only be a good thing that people are getting more outraged over babies debuting. Like Enhypen debuted in 2020 and their youngest was 14 at the time of debut (only like a month off 15, but still 14 on paper which is the same as Hyein the baby of NJ), and I don't recall nearly as much panic over his age, or the more mature songs the group has gotten at times. I remember most reactors I watched just thought he looked young, checked his age, realised their own mortality and carried on as if it's perfectly normal for someone who's not old enough to drive to have a whole career. It could be the fact their average age was older, could be that their concepts weren't as youthful, so you mightn't think about it as much. Could be just that we're more aware now even compared to 2 years ago. I've seen complaining about photocards and posters for this debut as well, with the opinion anyone who wants an album is a weirdo because they'd have pictures of underage girls. But I remember hearing absolutely nothing like that for EN- at the time.
Anyway, protect all the baby idols. And I would 100% listen to your podcast.

I just like they are not over glamified girls made to look older then they are. Good role models for younger girls
I am obviously also not a fan of minors in the industry, and there is actually a lot more controversy surrounding the group (lyrics of "Cookie" + the ceo of their label might be very weird). But I really really like the vibe of the music they put out. Also from what I have seen so far, the girls are very sweet. So I am definetely interested, what they will do in the future and I hope you check out their other songs, esp. "Hype Boy" and "Hurt" (There are MV's for all of their songs).
But I guess I am also more part of the target audience they're trying to attract.
