I'm 32 year old woman fan of theirs and I just love the youth their music gives me. All tracks. It makes me nostalgic of my youth.
Their music is what really draws people to them, not their age. The demographics of their fans are somewhere around 80%-85% female 15% - 20% male based on data from streaming apps and online stores.
Older people stanning groups is not an issue. Some older people really like the music, think the groups are adorable, and really believe in their potential and journey and there is nothing wrong with that. ⚠️STANNING DOES NOT MEAN SEXUALIZING.⚠️Ya'll need to get ya'll heads out of the negative side and be more positive, not everyone is thinking those malicious thoughts that think they are. And don't get me wrong, I'm not naive to the point where I think there aren't people like that at all, but I'm just saying until you see an older stan being inappropriate to the younger idols, then make it an issue. But make it an issue with those wierdos, not the girls. It's unfair to them.Quit making assumptions and judging and let the girls enjoy their fame instead of calling for their group to disband bc of this and that. They've worked too hard just to be criticized bc their age.

@@Quon yes I’m 26 and I fell in love with their music off a snippet by accident . Had no idea hybe debut a new group . They popped up on my shorts for hybe boy shortly after debut and I immediately went to the comments like what is this song ?!? They have genuinely good songs that are just fresh and different . We needed this refresher in the kpop world
@@Quon also just want to say I’m happy that are getting ATTENTIOOOOON!!! Lol few weeks ago there was a poll for best debut of 2022 and they only had 8% of votes . Another poll was done days ago and they were #1 voted . They deserve it

The girl in the bucket hat... Your issue is more with fans not them. You can't control creeps. Girls should be able to live their life without worrying about creepy people. Those ppl should be called out not the girls themselves. It's mainly other girls groups stans who also Stan underage idols pushing the 'too young they should disband' narrative if we're being completely honest showing all this fake concern but that's a whole other story. They won't be showing who turns up to their faves fansign tho lol.

Literally another group Ive just debuted a 14 year old earlier this year but they don't get any flack because it's not Hybe. The way antis spreading the focus on young agenda purely to ignore their music and keep the talk on them negative. As long as they look after them and treat them right, there is no problem. The ppl saying they are too young and need to be protected from hate are the ones giving the hate to them. It's hilarious and predictable. Wish them best on the future and that they are looked after well. They are very talented.
Even if they are from hybe, they still receive criticism, for example, from the sserafim who criticized them only because of the garam thing that has already come to light that he is innocent, but in the end, if NewJeans is not criticized, it is because they know that it is not convenient for them to mess with them since they are the most supported now and on top of that hybe will sue them

@@Oitzmel it was mentioned a bit yes but not on the level this is. It's absolutely snowballing where ppl are even questioning the concept and it's the most age appropriate concept we've ever seen. Ppl should stop projecting on these groups and protect them like they claim.
Don't get me started on this age issue all of a sudden after New Jeans debuted. The youngest is 14. You know who else was 14 when his group debuted? Taemin of SHINee. Ni-Ki from Enhypen. Jungkook from BTS was 15... I could go on and on. Not saying it's right or wrong because it's up to their parents and hopefully these teens have a tight and healthy support system but what I am saying is that it's nothing new. Doesn't make it wrong or right. I just don't understand why this is suddenly a huge deal after 5 teenage girls debut and not nearly all this chatter about age when Enhypen debuted for Example. It's absolutely ridiculous to see
My friends are new to kpop so New Jeans was the first group they know of with such young members that was why they where a little but worried

I’m actually 16 and I really love this song and it’s just , the feel of their songs are like a breath of fresh air like it’s just really nice. Because the song doesn’t feel too much and it has a nice vibe.
The youngest is 15 this year and the oldest is 19 this year, this group is one of my favorite Kpop groups officially
They had 3 debut MVs, attention, cookie, hype boy. Hurt is a b-side Mv but slaps too, I love hypeboy the most but al their songs are so good and nostalgic.
They remind me A LOT of a mexican pop music group called *Jeans,* they debuted in 1996 until 2008, but in 2015 it was their comeback under the same name, until 2017, when they changed their name to *JNS*. They have very good/catchy songs such as "Corazón confidente" or "Solo vivo para ti"
MJ debuted under 10 yo through Jackson 5.

For the comment surrounding their age my friends are new to kpop so New Jeans was the first group they know of with such young members, especially debuting in 2022, that was why they were surprised and a little bit worried.

BTS Jungkook debuted at 15, IU debuted at 15, Yuna from Itzy debuted at 15, Enhyphen's Niki debuted at 14, Shinee's Taemin debuted at age 14, NCT Dream's Jisung debuted at 14 and so on. Don't see her talking about any of these other groups? With her logic, the majority of the Kpop groups should disband then. What about all those western artists who took the stage at 13 and 14? I don't see y'all debating over that or worrying over them.
Billie Eilish debuted when she was 14, Taylor Swift was 14 when she debuted, Rihanna was 16, and Justin Beiber was 13..the list is long. So it's a problem only cos it's a Korean group and a bunch of Korean girls. Yeaaaah..y'all need some educate yourselves and open your minds up a bit more. Stereotyping older fans solely for their age and then blaming it on the girls is both AGEIST and SEXIST. Bet if this was a boyband you wouldn't be as concerned about the age..ridiculous. Just discovered them 2 nights ago, the first thing that I thought about them after listening and watching all their MVs is that - it's a very Y2K, Gen-Z concept and their music is sooo fresh yet so nostalgic but with the same alternative R&B and hip hop we hear right now from popular indie and mainstream musicians. I never really thought about any "sexualizing" about their image at all.
I LOVE their songs, it’s so nostalgic and just damn good in general. But I get the age thing, as a much older woman with a daughter of my own and a bunch of nieces and nephews the same age as them I do feel weird and maybe even a little concerned and that’s why I just can’t get myself to follow them as a fan. But that’s me, I still admit the music and the choreo are very good and not to mention the girls themselves are so talented. But … they’re babies to me.
You don’t have to be worried about their age cause it’s pretty much normal for idol kpop to debut at such a young age :) just like Jungkook bts who debuted at 15/16 . So yeah, let’s just appreciate their talent without worrying about their age cause they choose to be an idol and they know the consequences.

Good music is for everyone. No matter their age or gender. We are all forever young at heart and I like to see whose new, how their shoot the video, how they brand the group… I also see it as a creative medium… I’ve 54 and whilst I look 45 I understand that some sectors or society thing the age gap is creepy. But I’m a gay man who loves great creature visuals. Also this is from the creative director that left YG ENTERTAINMENT who created black pink. I really interested to see how the new brand grow develops both visually n sonically develop their own an visual language. It interesting. - it deliberately opposite to black pink. I spend all day helping the look for big brands… I need to keep up with trends and what is happening across visual mediums. Theirs songs are more western than traditional k- pop which is clearly deliberate, the video has American standard vibe.. I embrace any brand trying to be successful in a crowded market. I can’t get enough of exciting new talent.

If they didn't have "older" fans they wouldn't be a viable business venture so I don't know what the problem is. If it's really such an issue then there should be some sort of industry-wide ban on having people (mainly girls I guess) in groups before they're of adult age so that nobody can make a fuss about it.

Y’all acting like the entire group is 13 damn, and the fact that the youngest ain’t even 13?? The 2 oldest members are 18 Minji and Hanni, then next is Danielle she’s 17, then Haerin is 16, and the youngest is 14, yes the youngest member is still young, but y’all fr dragging it, and most of their audience is not 13 year olds it’s actually people older like they’re extremely popular to all age groups but the biggest percentage is with people who are 18 and older because of the nostalgic feeling their music most people, since their sound is 90’s/early 2000’s inspired, but back to the age thing it’s not that deep yall making an issue out of nothing which is taking away from their talent and hard work, you can listen to their music even if you’re older than them, that whole age thing is so flawed in so many ways, you guys should’ve at least look up their age instead of assuming they’re all young children when 2 members are legal adults and the next 2 are in their late teens

While I'm all fine with younger people creating music and being supported and being in groups in newjeans case they do have great music and sound/asthetic to their mv however i literally got two seconds into their other song cookie and had to stop at first went and read the english translations the song is extremely gross for such a young group especially the youngest memeber to sing just down right inappropriate. And thing is two of the members are australian and would understand likely given they are the slightly older members the inneundos. Even if it was a poor translation which is the companies excuse that it was misinterpreted which i doubt considering the writers were fluent english speakers they should of had it rewritten to suit their age. The company isn't providing the appropriate protections for the girls for the ages at this stage like that song or allowing grown ass men to go to their fan meet and greets when it should be under 18 or under 21 until the youngest is of age like literally 40 year old guys were trying to meet them and i doubt it was their music tbh just creeps. Ill still support and hope future releases are more appropriate or considerate but doubt it given the companies response to cookie and the outrage. Like you could show it to anyone in a western country and they would immediatl think written for adults. my friends were shocked when i should them.
The lyrics are written in a way where it holds different meaning to Koreans, though the original demo is, of course, English. So the only ones affected by Cookie's lyrics are international listeners. Another note, if you're basing your judgement of creeps being men and older, that's kind of an immature perspective. I'd even go ahead and say that older people should be liking NewJeans' music because of their older style.
They should never be debuting minors, especially with Min HJ's history...
