So I first went to Morocco in 2002 with my mom she met a guy online . I was 16. We were there for two years but he was super abusive. My mom had bought an Internet cafe and they ran it together . When she couldn’t be patient with abuse anymore we left. He was Tunisian but lived in Morocco . I converted to Islam while in Morocco. I also met my future husband there during that time. I went back to the USA and got my highschool diploma and my future husband actually was already in the USA and he had been visiting his family in Morocco for Eid when I met him there. So he came to see me in Virginia . After that we just chatted online .i moved to Maryland and he came from Boston to me there. We got married when I was 19. After a month we moved back to Boston. I visited Morocco several times over the years the longest was 6 months . We have 4 kids now. After the society really began declining and cost of apartments got too extreme we decided to come to Morocco permanently. Can’t afford $4000 a month for an apartment . So we have now been here 7 months . Our trick to come here was that every time we did taxes and got our tax return we sent the money to Morocco. So after 12 years of sending it we were able to move here and start a business and buy an apartment .
Really happy to hear your story! You are very welcome in Morrocco, and very welcome in Islam! I hope you will live your best and pieceful life in Morrocco. I can confirm that except from some pickpokets that you should be take some caution, I can say the 95% of the prople will welcome you, love you, and help you in many different aspects. If you are American and have a good life there is nothing to do here live here is very hard here, every moroccan especially young generation dream to leave this country and start a new live somewhere maybe in Europe or American،But America is an unattainable dream for us
I hear you and respect your opinion To answer your question I am a Moroccan American have a nice comfortable life, with that all being said just listen to what Ernie is saying, she is spot on . I lived in the USA for close to thirty years, but I am sure that life will be better for me and American wife ; we all love it in Morocco once our kids are on their own. You can enjoy life in Morocco for a lot less ❤️🇲🇦
I'm Moroccan, lived in California for 10 years and now I'm back. Life in America is boring, extremely stressful, unsafe, insecure and a struggle. It's just not worth it. Morocco if you have a decent income is so much better then the US.
The beauty of this nation captivates all who visit its vibrant cities and serene landscapes. A rich tapestry of culture and history welcomes travelers from around the globe. Modern advancements blend seamlessly with ancient traditions, creating a unique and exciting atmosphere. Opportunities abound in this dynamic environment, promising a bright future. The warmth of the people creates a welcoming atmosphere... so welcome to Morocco ❤
Im moroccan and live in belgium actually, and i go to morocco every years ( while summer holidays ) i have a house there, this country is peaceful and people there are generous, i wish to you and your family a good life there ❤❤
I can understand why you prefer to live in Morocco myself, I never thought leaving it, and I agree that it is a safe country.,but really even for a very safe country you always have to take precautions especially for a woman, you should not walk alone where there is no one or go for a picnic alone in the forest, these kinds of things should be avoided even in Switzerland. stay safe, I am a 50 year old woman and I have never had any problems even if I travel alone but I do not expose myself to danger either.
Moroccans aren't morning people lol, but it's weird to see streets so empty. Although tbf I've never visited an old medina in early morning. It's honestly heartwarming to hear about your experience. We sometimes hear about tourists having bad experiences and even feeling unsafe, so i'm glad that you found comfort here, hope you always find peace here in morocco. I understand the fear of seeing our culture changing. Personally I don't think stuff like christmas decor are a bad thing at all, moreso nightclubs, bars as well as stupidly large hotel resorts that annoy me. But hey, people have came and went here for thousands of years, and they were never able to get rid of our culture, so let's be hopeful. As moroccan, we kinda grow up with the goal in mind of being able to reach the west. Being in college now, it's a question that has been on my mind more and more. Places like america and europe seems to offer so many advantages to morocco, but it also feel like living there would cause to lose most of what we grew up with.

I disagree. I know many Moroccans that have way more money. This mindset that everyone in Morocco is poor is sad because it’s not true. Just like America you have poor middle class and rich no different. Every Moroccan that I’m friends with makes more money than me

Great video. I agree about the food, and i am not saying this disrespectfully. We were in Orlando last year, the cost of fresh food was unbelievable. The basic foods, so Rice Krispies for example, are low sugar and only have added iron here. I bought a box over there, and when we opened it, the smell of sugar hit us, a sweet artifical vanilla smell. Everything we bought that is fine at home, was loaded with chemicals and colours over there. I dont understand how its allowed. After 2 weeks, my then middle kid was bouncing hyper, like manic, and tmi, but no one was having familiar bathroom habits. Morocco will never fully adopt a completely Westernized culture, and that's perfectly fine! What you see today reflects the extent to which Moroccan society is likely to embrace Western influences. Since the early 1980s, Morocco has been gradually modernizing, and after 40 years, this is the result. A unique blend of tradition and modernity!

Welcome to your second country, Morocco. We Moroccans love Americans, and you are a wonderful mother and your children are wonderful. I love how you take care of cats. All humans are brothers in humanity. I hope you are happy living with us.
Welcome to Morrocco! Glad to hear that people from USA prefer living in Morrocco. It's honestly a good place to live for all social goups and classes. Especislly for low and medium range. As you said: it's safer than America, affordable (though these recent years prices have increased tremendously witb the new givenment policies), kind people, piece, good nature, coasts, many places to travel to, food, fish, fruits and vegetables in Souks are avaliable and affordable. Etc, most people are muslims, and are deeply driven by morals tought by the religion, like: Respect, forgiveness, generousity, support and solidarity, and many more. Without much marketing for Morrocco, it has its negative points, like public health care, public education and some others, but ut depends on which aspects of your life you chose to focus on more. Example: more money and opportunities, while less safety, less flexible people, low spiritual focus and more materialistic focus -> America. More piece of mind, security, healthy food, affordability, kind and supportive people, Islam and spiritual values, whith low public health care quality, and education - > Morrocco. We all knlw that the country has huge amounts of resources, but they are not correctly used or distributed. We wish you all the best in your second country!

I wish you all the best 🥰
