Quick detail, when I mention the price of the Trailsport at the start, that includes freight but not a custom color which costs around $455 more. My build on the Honda website is just slightly higher due to custom paint.

Nice review of the RL, particularly the TrailSport. I don’t like chrome, so I am not a fan of the RTL (or the previous RTL-E). The Black Edition is sharp, but pricey. I like the Sport, but it lacks a sunroof that my wife wants and leather that is nice as well. For me, the TrailSport hits the sweet spot. I know it does not receive the full TrailSport makeover that the Pilot did (no bump in horsepower, no lift, same transmission, etc). I am a Ridgeline fan. I am buying at the end of 2024 to replace our current mid-size SUV (V8) that we use to tow our small Casita camper (2,900 lb loaded). I also want as much payload as possible for camping gear, preferably around 1,500 lbs. The Ridgeline is quite competitive with its real world payload. The new Tacomas are very nice, but will get pricey fast. I love that one can get a 6’ bed in the Tacoma (and Frontier). I like the Frontier’s but their safety/crash ratings are not as good as the Ridgeline, plus the real world payload is a bit mediocre. I am surprised by how much I like the new Canyon/Colorado, but concerned about GM reliability. The new Ranger is slow rolling out. Love the new interior, but the exterior is a bit pedestrian in my opinion (LOL, can’t afford the Ranger Raptor). The Gladiator has a mild refresh as well, but Gladiators tend to be too pricey and not as reliable as the Hondas/Toyotas. I will also consider a 1/2 ton base trim and cross shop with midsize trucks. Price will be a huge factor. We will see who is offering the best deals at the end of 2024. Maybe there will be deals on the Nissan Titan since it is in its last year. Lots of great choices in the mid-size pickup truck segment.

Right on! I settled on a Passport Trailsport but I did test drive a 2024 Passport Black Edition and it was awesome! I’m sure the Ridgeline won’t be much different.

And didn’t see the trunk plug also gone for either tailgating or charging a tool it would come in handy I was going to wait for 24 trail because of off road stuff but to be honest I’m thinking a 23 rtle instead of

      That’s not a bad option.

If that's the extent of it? I'll probably get a deal on a leftover '23 and wait for the next generation... maybe '25 or '26?

Yup. That’s pretty much it. I decided on a 2024 Passport Trailsport which does not get the upgraded multimedia that the Ridgeline gets but Im at a place in my life where the Passport meets my immediate needs and my current car, a 2020 Hyundai Kona, does not.

Your right. Think Id stay with a 21-23 model RTL-E.

I think it offsets the cost of the parts the Trailsport is bringing to the package but to me an in bed audio is the perfect accessory for someone that loves the outdoors.

I agree. Funny thing is when I think of Honda, EV models don’t really come to mind because they don’t seem to push them like Toyota.

Probably Hybrid in 2026, they will run everything the same in 2025 and add another Black Edition color.
