2024 Ridgeline features updated styling and an enhanced cabin experience with more standard technology and improved storage
New Ridgeline TrailSport takes rugged, off-road capability to new level with off-road tuned suspension, all-terrain tires and steel underbody protection
Starting MSRP of $39,7501 for exceptionally well-equipped Ridgeline Sport
Rugged and refreshed, the 2024 Honda Ridgeline lineup begins arriving at dealerships today, including the first-ever Ridgeline TrailSport- the most off-road capable Ridgeline ever. Engineered to get weekend adventurers even further off the beaten path, the new Ridgeline TrailSport features special off-road hardware, including an off-road-tuned suspension, trail-ready all-terrain tires and steel underbody protection.
The 2024 Honda Ridgeline is available in four all-wheel drive trim levels: Sport, RTL, the new TrailSport and the top-of-the-range Black Edition. Beginning with the Ridgeline Sport, manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) starts at $39,7501 (excluding a $1,375 destination charge). The new 2024 Ridgeline TrailSport starts at $44,9801.
Exceptionally Well-Equipped
Designed and developed in the U.S., the refreshed 2024 Ridgeline lineup comes standard with a 280-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 engine, 9-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters and award-winning torque-vectoring i-VTM4® all-wheel drive. Standard four-mode Intelligent Traction Management allows drivers to customize the i-VTM4® system for different terrains, including sand, snow, mud and paved roads.
Now standard inside the cabin are a new 7-inch digital instrument cluster, along with a new, larger 9-inch color touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ compatibility, and a faster processor for lag-free performance. Ridgeline's integrated navigation system has been simplified with new graphics and fewer menus.
For additional comfort and functionality, all 2024 Ridgelines also benefit from a new center console with a large, newly-integrated armrest and expanded storage. The center-console storage bin can now swallow a full-size tablet, and an improved storage tray ahead of the shifter is large enough to accommodate two smartphones, side by side. Ridgeline's Dual-Action Tailgate and In-Bed Trunk® continue as standard on all models.
Ridgeline can be customized with several post-production option packages, including the popular HPD Package. Designed to evoke Honda's racing DNA, the HPD Package adds to Ridgeline's rugged appearance with a unique grille treatment, aggressive HPD 18-in alloy wheels and all-terrain tires, and black lug nuts. The HPD+ package adds black fender flares and an oil pan protector.
New Ridgeline TrailSport
For the 2024 model year, the first-ever Ridgeline TrailSport brings even more off-road capability to the Ridgeline lineup. Exclusive rugged hardware includes a new off-road tuned suspension that improves articulation and off-road ride quality without sacrificing Ridgeline's exceptional on-road comfort and best-in-class handling.
The TrailSport also adds a steel underbody protection that shields its oil pan from sharp rocks and other off-road hazards, as well as Ridgeline's first-ever application of all-terrain tires which take its rugged capabilities even further. Standard General Grabber™ A/T Sport tires (245/60R18), mounted on new Pewter 18-inch wheels, substantially improve TrailSport's traction in dirt, sand, mud, rocky terrain and snow, but remain quiet and comfortable on the road.
Exclusive to Honda TrailSport models, a new available Diffused Sky Blue paint color, which debuted on the all-new 2023 Pilot TrailSport, highlights Ridgeline's rugged design. The TrailSport's cabin stands out with orange contrast stitching on the steering wheel, door panels and seats, with the TrailSport logo embroidered on the front seat head restraints and molded onto its standard all-season rubber floor mats.
Peace of Mind
In addition, the Honda Sensing® suite of safety and driver-assistive technologies is standard on every 2024 Ridgeline. On Ridgeline, Honda Sensing® includes Collision Mitigation Braking System™ (CMBS™) with Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), Road Departure Mitigation (RDM) with Lane Departure Warning (LDW), and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC). I will buy new 2024 Honda Ridgeline one day.
I ordered mine it comes in March so I’m on the painful wait
Better do it in the next year otherwise you can't buy a "new 2024" model 😉
Don’t wait to long
I'm picking mine up this week
Thank you for the best review I’ve seen. Pointing out everything that one needs to know.
Great video! Nice truck! Only thing that makes me steer towards RTL over the Sport is no sliding rear glass and heated seats. If they had put that on the Sport be a no brainer for me. Thanks for doing this video. One of the first on TH-cam for a 2024’. Hope you get a chance to video the other trims as well.
Agree. Heated seats is somewhat geographically needed depending on location, but sliding no rear window is an absolute dealbreaker.
So happy they fixed that whole center console situation. Looks a lot more comfortable now.
At first I was looking for an after market conversion for the arm rests, but now that I have lived with it for about a year I actually like the previous setup in my '23 RTL-E. The armrests are comfortable and I like having the space where the console lid is located.
That was a significant improvement from the tiny seat armrest. It's a pain when going on a long road trip.
I couldn’t disagree more. I absolutely love not having to move my arm out of the way anytime my wife wants to get into the center console (which feels like every five minutes), especially on longer trips.
I wasn’t a fan of the armrests the day I got my 2017 ridgeline, but they’ve grown on me to where I was sad seeing them disappear in this video.
That is the reason I haven't purchased one before. I just happened to see they changed it recently so I will consider one now.
I only wish they offer a manual transmission option.
I've got a '19 Sport and I love it. The 5" radio unit works well, I added a CD player, and there is nothing i would upgrade for except those safety festures and 9 speed tranny. But since it's paid off with only 15k on the clock, I'll hang on to this baby at least 5 more years. Probably longer if it continues being maintenence free. Tows my teardrop camper like a dream, too.
I've been saying for years I'm going to get a truck I finally did. The Ridgeline is awesome.
Good choice!
Amazing video Mike.
great tour! thanks
Very helpful video. Your presentation is very thorough.
Very nice bed configuration.
I love my 2020 ridgeline RTL-E. My biggest gripe with this upgrade is the center console. I love my personal arm rest on the driver seat. Not sure how I'm going to like losing that when it's time for a new one. The only other complaints are the lights, a 39k+ starting price and we can't get full LED headlights, and the continued lack of heated AND ventilated seats in the top trims. The top Pilot trims have had ventilation for at least 3 model years, where's the feature creep Honda, it's time to catch up! Excellent video as always Mike, keep up the great work.
They offer heated seats and steering wheel on the upper level trims, (i have on a 2023 RTL-E) although still no ventilated seat option
2024 black edition offers ventilated seats and rear heated seats. love my 22' BE but really wish i had that!
Thanks for getting this early review on the 2024 Ridgeline. I have a 23, so the changes are too few to justify an upgrade, but I like the new armrest and dash layout. I'm still yearning for a hybrid version.
a Hybrid version will most likely eliminate the in bed storage trunk, due to the additional space required for hybrid battery's, hopefully if Honda builds a hybrid they will still offer a fully ICE version for folks that don't want them!
I have a 2019 Ridge. I really like it. Was hoping Honda would change up the chassis to the current Pilot so the 2024 could get the 10 speed transmission but nope. Ventilated seats nope. I know ventilated seats are super nitpicky but once you have had them they make a huge difference in hot ass summers. I absolutely HATE the engine start stop but there is an easy kit that reverses the button so it is always off unless you want it on. I absolutely LOVE the tailgate and “trunk”. Perfect height and place for groceries. LOVE the back seat up storage capacity, can fit my mountain bike no problems. I just use a little ramp and bungee cords to secure it in place.
Protip: rather than buying the honda dividers just get some dollar store cutting boards and a heat gun and you have a perfect, molded fit.
Will probably be years until the next refresh so probably will go with the Pilot next time if not a Hyundai Santa Fe.
The 24 Ridgeline higher trims do have ventilated seats. The black edition also has rear heated seats.
@@Exkal1burI stand corrected the US BE does have ventilated seats.
Seems like the 10 speed is slower in the Pilot
@@jimmyr1683the new pilot also uses the new non vtec j35. Supposedly it has 5 more hp lol
@@rackemmm1947 The '24 has the new j35 as well.
Great review. Thanks
Great Review
Excellent review. Thank you.
Looks like it addresses almost all of my complaints with my '22 except no electronic parking brake. Wouldn't mind the 12.3" new infotainment while they were at it. I must be in the minority, but I actually liked the ratchet-style armrests before the refresh.
I really like the fact that it has a traditional, non-electronic, parking brake.
Like the yellow finger pointer !
Excellent review! Mine is a 2023 Ridgeline Sport and I am thrilled with it. The 2024 model is not a lot different, most noticeable is model name stamped in large capital letters on the tailgate.
I have a '23 also. Not sure how I feel about the rear design change. I think I like the "old" one better.
Same here so I’m going to stick with my ‘23.
Love the little yellow hand😂🤣!
I really like the changes overall, but my current RTL-E is the sweet spot for me, and it’s low mileage, so I decided to buy it off lease.
I currently own two Honda cars and a Nissan 4x4 pickup. I love the features of the Ridgeline(Trunk storage and rear seat space) but the 5ft. bed is a deal killer for me. Unlike some I actually haul stuff like bulk mulch in mine several times a year and that 5 ft. bed just doesn't cut it. If they offered a 6ft. bed I would bet their sales would increase by large numbers even if they went to an extended cab instead of the 4 door like my Nissan has. Oh well maybe some day! Great video by the way!!
Thank you and Jesus bless you for reviewing the Honda Ridgeline all these years and I appreciate you for your service at this and God bless your family amen
very nice pick up indeed
Excellent video! Does this 2024 has the TPMS valves that the previous generation had and that was almost a deal breaker for me ? Thanks.
Thanks for your review great work PLEASE review a 24 Black Edition need to know if it has ventilated seats if so I will be ordering one soon. Thanks from South Ga.
Yes the 2024 finally have ventilated seats in USA now & rear heated back seats.
I like it. I have the 17 RTL. Trying to hold off for the '26 or '27. My OCD went off the chart when I saw how low the fuel tank was, but then I saw on the sticker "full tank of fuel - no charge". That's pretty low gas with only 2 miles on it.
I have a 2020 RTL-E. No problems
Awesome vehicle. I’m being critical, sliding rear window on that Sport Base would be great.
Bella nave la verdd amigo y carita 😊😊 saludos amigo .👍🫂🙏😃😃😃
First thing I would do is change all the incandescent bulbs to LEDs. Then a front leveling kit
This is precisely what i did after i picked up my trailsport a couple weeks ago. Had the taillights pulled off it a few minutes after parking it in the driveway for the first time lol. Love this vehicle. Wireless car play is great.
I like everything about it , packing space, naturally aspirated, just one thing it has a timing belt , not a chain! That’s so sad. Beautiful vehicle then to cut a corner by fitting a belt.
Yeah I agree. If it had a chain vs. the timing belt I would like it more.
Those belts have been pushed over 120,000 miles without any issues p
PUT A TIMING CHAIN IN IT HONDA!!!!!¡!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!¡!!!!!!!!!!
2019 RTL-E here. Transmission-failure at 44k, and a recall pending on piston-rod defect. When we first bought this thing, the hood almost flipped-up while driving through Nevada... high crosswinds... turns out there was actually a recall for that too. Also, the tailgate actuators, they're flimsy plastic which wear out or break... I've had the gate worked on twice. The recall-work for the wiring-harness inside the gate had to be done twice, it wasn't done correctly the first time.
These are not the Hondas our parents owned; these new Hondas... they're over-engineered on the cheap.
Also, there's no factory warranty on these things like, say, Toyota; if you buy a Honda from a non-Honda dealership, you're screwed unless you bought separate warranty.
Lease, maybe; buy, no.
Have a 2019 with 160,000 on it… It’s been perfect. There’s absolutely a factory warranty… What the hell are you talking about? These are some of the best built vehicles on the road. It’s possible to get a lemon from any brand…but there are 1 million glowing reviews for a reason
Well, there's a warranty starting with the first owner, but it's not clear... at least to me... whether it's transferable; transferability in the Tundra manual is explicit.
The issues I'm experiencing are common issues... not some peculiar anomaly in a parallel universe. The recalls, are common issues; V6 6AT transmission problems, are common issues.
If the wheels just fell off this thing, yeah, that's a lemon... because that'd be a singular inexplicable incident, not a common issue.
I'm sure yours works fantastically taking laundry to your parents when you leave the dorm on weekends, but that's not why most folks buy a pick-up.
Glowing reviews... only from review-publications who've been out of the loop for ages, or have inherent assumptions about the vehicle, or just plain shill a car or truck for advertising dollars; I can remember when Car & Driver gave the Chevy Citation... a glowing review.
@@TrilithiumBanditKelsey haha right … I actually own two properties with a working farm - so it’s been put to use quite a bit. Just because it doesn’t have a gay little lift with really cool rivets that frequents a car wash , doesn’t make it useless. 1500 payload and 5000 towing does 90% of our small chores quite well - and it’s literally used every day unlike your average pavement princess 1/2 ton that can “off road” at the Starbucks or target.
I have a '21 sport. I like the arm rests, not sure about them being removed in the new model. Still doesn't have LED highbeams, its the same headlight as the other trim, not sure why they keep cheaping out on that. Another disappointment is the heater control. The sync button is massive but you have to hunt for the fan mode button which means taking your eyes off the road. Sync is much less relevant vs fan mode, especially in the winter. I wonder if they have upgraded the front radar. It has a tendency to freak out on slow downhill left turns where it sees the car in the other lane and wants to auto brake unexpectedly. Overall though it looks pretty good. I prefer the black trim instead of chrome around the doors and heated seats, rear slider, etc is just more crap that will eventually break so for me I can do without.
If it's anything like the Pilot, the legroom for taller people might not be enough. For around town it's fine but for longer trips, you can't stretch out your legs. Just a minor nit-pick. I found this with a lot of the Honda and Acura vehicles, but I haven't tried them all.
I think the maintenance requirements to change the differential fluid and transmission fluid are deal killers to me, but I would be glad to be corrected.
Honda's service intervals are aggressive on all their vehicles, a trusted master mechanic advised the first fluid changes are the most important after that you can be confident to go to a 60,000 mile interval, that's what I've done with my 2012 Pilot 150k miles with no issues.
I'm not really sure what their deal is with transmissions... as soon as I got mine at 33k, I had a drain and fill done, because we were making a cross-country trip. At around 44k, the tranny crapped-out.
It appears that 6sp. trans. in V6 AWD are these most problematic. They're using the German 9sp. now, or is it the 10sp. in-house? Who knows. What that indicates to me is some scrambling to slap something in there, and sell cars without proper testing and QC... and that's really disappointing, because that is so '80s Detroit.
I keep reading about the ridgeline transmission blowing before 50k miles.
@@user-zb7tg5hi3t I’ve heard of a few incidents although overall the 9 speed has a solid reputation!
hay Mike just wondering if there is or will be an at night video of this car I can't find it on your channel
the higher hood position at least on my 2014 is to get at the wiper blades easier to service.
I love your yellow hand
Appreciate very informative Video but you got me when you mentioned the Ridgeline has "Engine Cylinder Deactivation". I was really looking at purchasing the Ridgeline but you convinced me, along with the fact it has a Timing "Belt" instead of a Timing "Chain", High Price and "Non-Truck Appearance" has me stopping the Video and crossing the Ridgeline off my short list! Great Video and probably a great Vehicle but definitely not for me. Love the fact it was a Honda, has Best in Class Rear Seating and AWD but that unnecessary Cylinder Deactivation was the final Deal Breaker. Only my opinion...yet still a lot of 2023 Ridgelines unsold at local Dealerships and tomorrow is Feb. 2024! Just saying...
That little yellow hand creeps me out.
This truck looks 10 years old. Honda needs to update asap.
Nicely done presentation compared to ben Hardy. That guy tries to talk as fast as he can, drives me nuts!!! Keep up the ghood work Mike!!!
Ive got the '23 Black edition and I like it overall . Wouid rather have a physical speedometer like this '24 but a minor quibble.
Excellent review, When I read last year that Honda was updating the model there was one thing I didn't see. The rear bumper, did they ever affix it (weld it) to the unibody? Co-worker had one (2021), and it actually tore out/off of it's plastic housing/clips. Honestly, never seen a rear (fake) step bumper on anything classified as a small truck. and my buddy is like 160 lbs . Cheapest thing I'd ever seen on $45k truck. Since I'm in the market and really like the Honda line, I'd strongly consider it, but not with that bumper. If they can put a tow bar/hitch on that thing surely they should have addressed that fake step bumper by now. Thanks
Did you forget to talk about the new console arm rest or did I miss it?

I just bought a 2023 Ridgeline 3 weeks ago. I asked my dealership if they know when the new 2024 are coming in and he said they didn’t know. 3 weeks later they get them. I would’ve waited cause it’s about a $1000 difference with better features. Wireless charger, wireless apple play, blind side notification, digital display, better grill, stamped tailgate, center divider etc. like with man. I asked them if they were coming out. Is there anything I can do or am I stuck with mine?
No, you'd take a big hit trading it back in, a buddy i work with did that with a new SUV he bought for his wife, they had it less than 30 days and cost him $6500, hope she likes her new SUV is what i told him!
Look at it this way, the version you have has all the bugs worked out but essentially the same vehicle. You have a solid, reliable vehicle. Good choice!
In 2018 I looked at the Ridgeline, but I was turned off by it’s lack of “truckiness” (I do like to haul things) and by the fact that it was $10,000 more than the Tacoma that I ended up getting.
The Ridgeline is in need of a redesign, the upgrades look essentially like retrofits.
Look like they made the button smaller like in my pilot I had a 23 traded it in for the 23 pilot
Where's The Trailer Brake Control?
What do you mean Sonic Gray called?
That's truck color
Needs the ten speed transmission from Pilot and for the love of God a real transmission shift lever.
I have a 2020 RTL and there is nothing on the 24 that raises my interest in upgrading.....new grill and embossed tailgate is all i really see....but the sport does have 2 tail pipe tips now
What happened to bad stereo system?
Pretty sure that's a higher trim feature.
Easy enough to change the battery?
Yes. Just under the intake 12:13 is the AGM battery.
Nice color……needs grey interior, not black
Does rear window open?
no
Bed outlet is gone for 2024?!
i dont think the sport model had one
Only Buy A RTL Or RTL-E ,sport has base line stuff I have had them all its up to you it your money
No RTL-E in 2024
No arm tests
You lost me at glitter in the grill, lol.
Glitter?
@@MikesCarInfoSparkle, sorry. The grill looks too fancy to me for a truck. I do think the new body design is a big improvement, though.
All this detail - how long is the bed. You present like you work there.

A regular column shifter is so much better for a truck. It would increase the cargo storage a bit more near the cup holder area. The sides of the truck could be even another inch or two taller, very shallow bed depth. When I don't see any of these changes from manufactures and they keep pumping out the same vehicle for pretty much 10 years straight. The profit must be pretty decent, but the customer is not getting much in return .... come on auto industry be creative again !
2024 and still using a timing belt.....lol
Hate the stamped Ridgeline on the tailgate.
Yeah I agree. The clean look of the previous tailgate was one of the things I liked about the Ridgeline. Having it stamped across the whole thing just puts off this odd unnecessary vibe.
I don't see a real changes.... minor updates and a new trim package. So what?
Tailgate lettering, steering wheel, gauge cluster with display for awd performance, radio, center console, and cooled seats on the highest trim. That’s a lot of changes for a refresh if you ask me
@@rackemmm1947 cosmetic mostly, add a few options from other similar Hondas like cooled seats. Body panels, engine, tranny.... all carry over.

Recovering from a bad chest cold.
Honda really dropped the ball... Just lazy! This small truck has worse MPG than literally all full size trucks... F150, Tacoma... Ect Ect. They just missed it. 2024 needed a massive refresh and they failed to.produce.
