    Nice clean simple setup. Are you using a filter regulator lubricator. I highly recommend it for the life of your air tools.

    I have a short flexzilla hose with the swivel ball ends and it’s been a favorite of mine for a while so I’ve been wanting to purchase a hose reel with flexzilla hose. Initially I wanted the 75’ but I’m concerned about the plastic design. The only thing that bothers me about this one is that it costs quite a bit more than other metal ones with rubber hoses and I know the reel itself is likely the same China made reel. I’ll probably drop the extra $ anyways, but I think there are quality options for far less. Anyhow, I’m glad it’s working out and this may help me pull the trigger on it. I’m a real believer in their hoses.

      I'm sure you could buy a metal hose reel and put one of their air hoses in the reel. Just make sure you're getting the same type of reel because every manufacture has different little features.

    Thanks for the review. Now that you have had it for well over a year, are you still using it and if so, have you run into issues, and what do you think about it now? I am searching for a hose reel and was leaning towards GoodYear but the recent reviews are pretty bad. The reviews on this are pretty good but wonder about long term. Thanks for any updates you can provide.

      I still love the reel and the hose is holding up fine. The only issue that I am having is an air leak where the reel transfers air to the hose on the side. It is a swivel set up so the hose can stay stationary while the reel spins but it is leaking air there for me. i need to try and fix it. hopefully it is an easy fix or repairable!

      @@scottwalker19 Not sure if you ever got around to repairing the hose reel but they are usually repairable. Typically it's one or two o-rings that seal in the air at the part that spins. If you keep your compressor pressurized constantly I would install a shut off valve or coupler between the reel and compressor.

    Wow you went all out with the Kranzle OG solution package. Did you not like the cox reel solution?

      I am not sure why this comment is attached to my video about the Air hose reel. If you are referring to why i did not want to go with the Cox air hose reel then the answer is probably because it is expensive. For my air setup I wanted to get something that worked well as well as affordable and Flexzilla makes some nice products. I do have a current issue with my hose reel leaking air but I have not tried to address the issue yet. hopefully it is repairable or an easy fix!

    Nice setup. How long and thick are the lag screws you used to mount it?

      @scottwalker19  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks! I believe they were 1” long and probably 1/4” or 5/16” in diameter.

    What size of screws did you use for the studs?

    • @scottwalker19
      @scottwalker19  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I can't remember off top my head. I just made sure that they were long enough for my application and also taken into consideration that they are going into a 2 x 4 stud

      I am not sure what you are asking. The price can very depending on where you get it. And most of the places you would order from will ship it to your door

    Techie question: per my research on YT whenever you attach swivels and stepdown pieces eg: 3/8" to 1/4" you lose torque. For instance when using a impact wrench on a truck tire it can be as much as 25% decrease in bolt busting ability. Have you noticed this? th-cam.com/video/KBQpaUBMmGw/w-d-xo.html

      To be honest I could not say for sure. I do not use my compressor for impact tools. I would think that there could be a difference if you had a significant restriction without the proper amount of flow. Unless you had a large diameter hose and then you could get larger fittings if they are a thing. 1/4” fittings are normal as far as I know

    main purpose of a review would be demonstrate the important features of a product; like the function of retractability of a retractable air hose. Clearly this review makes no real and useful attempt at addressing this critical feature; just a short retraction of the hose which clearly avoids the aspect of the entire hose being easily reeled up. Nope, just a long distraction of overkill on how to mount the hose and that it is better than plastic…useless, except for manufacturer marketing.

      Not trying to market it. I was simply trying to show it in video format because when I was looking to purchase one, I was having a hard time finding user videos of it. Ultimately, most hose reels are going to be exactly the same and you will be buying them based on the color they are painted. Also the brand that is stamped on there. You can obviously swap out the hose on any of them at any point, but the flexzilla hoses are a good in-between from having to deal with a heavy duty rubber hose or a cheap plastic hose. Hopefully that makes sense. Describing to you how a hose reel works would be a waste of your time, because they are all exactly the same. No special functions on this model or most of them in general. Thanks!.

    I would rotate that compressor 90⁰ so the hose doesn't come out and then hook back.

    • @scottwalker19
      @scottwalker19  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thats not a bad idea. I used a hose with a swivel so its not as much stress on the loop. In a perfect situation the hook up would be on the side but the manufacture made it with all of that stuff in the same place.
