- Not taking any credit for the build juss haven't seen too much on the Kanger RBA side of the tank, so figured I put one up so ppl can see that it can be done on this deck also.
Newbie like me didn't know if it can only be done on drippers or if it can be done on the Kanger SubTank RBA. well it can, LOL

nakedmongoose123 Okay i got it this time. Hard part is getting the both leads under the screws, subtank rba seems a bit small for it but i eventually got it.

nakedmongoose123 24 guage, used a 1.5mm coil jig (or 2.0mm?) and did 7 or 8 wraps on each coil.

I've seen a few of these been done, one thing most forget, is that if too much of your wick touches the deck, it will leak like you wouldn't believe.
Im just getting into RBA's have been a little lazy about bothering with it but i just bought the Subox mini starter kit and it came with a RBA so after watching your video i decided to give it a go seeing as how the kit came with cotton and a spare coil. However, i was unable to get the cover screw out at the side but i did manage to get the cotton through the coil but i know i am going to have to get that screw out if i want to change that coil, proving difficult so far. Afraid of gouging out the head of the screw then i will be screwed, pardon the pun.

I've never done an RBA rebuild before, but from what I understand, you're better off using an m4 screw to make the coil, being threaded with a 1mm pitch, you get a .76 gap between each ring of the coil. (using 24 gauge wire)

Will this dual coil works on the subtank mini. I mean, will it fits in the rba for the mini version?
I noticed that your posts are flat on that V1 Subtank. I also have the V1 subtank, but my posts have a lip, so you don't have to wrap the wire around the screw.
Is that a replacement deck?
Why would you use that much cotton? 1 strip cut in half would have been perfect. That dual coil would be sweet if I could get it to work with the Kangertech Subtank mini. Looking for videos on rebuilding the coil for that tank. I like the cyclone vertical coil, rips better than a basic horizontal coil in the mini. But the top end of the coil always gums up and clogs eventually. Was thinking of using a cone shaped bit to wrap the cyclone coil next time. So the spacing at the top is farther apart and doesn't clog as fast. Any ideas?
Dual coil on the Mini RBA would be a monster hassle. I use a parallel build on awg26 8 wraps in total, and it gives me 0,2ohm, im vaping at 33-40Watts, and trying to see when i get dry hits, as the juice holes seem to be on the small side..
I did it with 22 g and 6 wraps 0.11 ohms holds 65 watts with out a dry hit ever
brandon sutton I used my dremmel with and enlarged the cutouts in the base a bit now, certainly wicks much better now, but im still vaping around 30-35 now
For some reason, every once in a while I'll get like a gargling effect and it spits hot juice
brandon sutton maybe its a bit of condensation and a bit of juice, you are vaping at a very high wattage I never had spitback issues, as long as the wick is not gunked up, gurgling could be because the coil is to close to the bottom airhole, and if the could overjuices a bit some juice will settle there..
Quick stupid question, do you think a dual coil is plausable on the kanger subtank mini?
+sanman1185 I have the Kanger 7ml tank which has the mini RBA. As much as I'd like to say I can build a single coil, I can't But last night, and several OCD hours of trying I finally did it. 26g at 2mm with 7 wraps I was at .39ohm. Wrap them tight. They will fit nicely together. Just as our instructional host +sanman1185 demonstrates, coil them around the same screws. Tricky, but doable. LOL, at least I didn't snap off a lead, +sanman1185. I purchased a very inexpensive ohm/volt meter from Amazon. I juiced it up a tad too much but after a while of chain vaping at my sweet spot, there was no more spitting. Get yourself a magnifying kit at Amazon also. I just happened to have a lamp with the magnification built in which helped a lot since I have low light throughout the house. Give it a go! It's quite small, yes. But keep using your coil rod to maintain your coil size and help guide your leads. It will still look wonky, but I finally got mine centered.
Con: One thing I'm surprised with is lack of the silky thickness of my cloud. Perhaps I left my bottles open too long to breath after steeping?

One of the leads isn't even connected. The second coil is glowing because it's touching the first one.

Nice~ i wish i can make as neat, too bad, i still often ask some local vapestore to build my subtank mini.
Clapton works like charm which in fact in the beginning i tot it wont work on mini, but it turn out making the vapor very flavourful, but its even harder for me to build it neatly, often, my built spit hot juices.. so i need help from staff from the vape store nearby to build for me everytime i need to change the wire.. Sigh...
SEz610i igot a diy coil making kit online, i use26 gauge clapton, the tools in the kit make a spot on coil everytime, im new to building my coils, i make a 5 tuen coils and works bang on in my kangertech top tank butbi use the sub tank mini rba, hope it helps mate!

if I have a single coil build that reads about a .5 resistance if I use two of those coils will the resistance be .25 or will it stay at .5?
+Capacitor it would be .25 - parallel resistances. Bit low for most mods I should think.

Take the small mesh part out of an nautilus coil, and put that just under the drip tip. Works perfect for me
Mine has like a gurgling effect I don't know what it is either Spit or slowly drips through my air holes in the bottom
+Brian Kedanis I have the same problem... Just rebuild one and it spits 2 ml in my mouth besides the lick trough the air flow..
+Rodrigo Fernandes i recently managed to get a 30awg 12 wrap dual coil at 1.6mm inner diameter inside at 1.2 ohm. Does need a VV device, but vapes amazingly at about 18 watts.
I think the spitting comes from the wire getting too hot. This setup allows for a much higher surface area, and have no spitting whatsoever for the month i use this setup.
A bit tricky to setup though.
