    You sir are awesome! I know you very rarely reply to messages, but I hope you at least read this. I smoked 2.5 packs of cigs a day pretty much since I was 17 years old. I am now 47. It is because of your advice and steering me in the right direction that I am now tobacco free for 152 days and counting! It was the MVP battery and Nautilus tank that finally got me off cigs, and it was your reviews that steered me to them. Then I went with a Russian 91% at your advice, and loved it! And then went with a Cloupor clone of the DNA 30 for even more watts and power, although I rarely went above 10 watts...lol! And then your SquapeR video intrigued me and I managed to get an authentic, and its AWESOME!!! I don't want to sound dramatic, but you probably saved my life. Seriously. Thank you.

    Hey Rip, because of your videos, I am now into rebuildables. I purchased a nemesis mechanical mod, plume veil RDA, efest 35 amp 18650 battery, and 24 gauge kanthal. Thank you for putting out these videos. It gave me the confidence to get into this new world of flavor, clouds, and fun. Keep it up!

    Hey man I just wanted to let you know how appreciated you are. I was in a B&M shop recently and I brought up your channel and the woman clammed to have met you/know you I don't really remember but so many of these tutorials are like 97 hours long of some guy droning on with awful views and within minutes I'm bored. You're tutorials and reviews are the most informative, entertaining, and fun to watch that I have ever come across. Thank you on behalf of someone who is still relatively new to the building process (but smoke free since February WOO HOO!l). I never feel stupid or left out for not knowing what you're teaching. I'm not sure if you get paid or sponsored or anything but it is a crying shame if you don't. I recommend you to EVERYBODY I know when they first leave the dark side and come over to the wonderful worlds of clouds and coils. Thanks buddy.

    I would really like to see a tutorial on wicking techniques and strategies for flavor vs. vapor production! I know you can't show every single type of coil due to video length, but I've been experimenting and watching your videos and wonder where your motivation comes from and what you're looking for. Thanks again for another great video!

    you should go over how resistance works. (different size wire, size of coil, duel compared to single, ect)

    • @PainterVierax
      @PainterVierax 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's all subjective so his tastes may not be yours. You have to test different settings. It's a compromise between flavour, vapor production and the amount of power you like.

    • @ForceBlade99
      @ForceBlade99 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      PainterVierax if you are using a regulated device like the ipv3 or sigelei 100w, power isn't an option, it's mostly then vapor and flavor production.

    • @PainterVierax
      @PainterVierax 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Axel AZ not absolutely true : I have an old vamo v3 modded to run with a 9V AC/DC adapter and there is a different sensation when I use it with an IMR battery than the adapter with the same wattage setting.
      It's odd and maybe relative to the chip but some people claims that a serial mounting of two batteries gives a different vaping experience on a regulated mod.
      Nevertheless, I was talking in general, including mechanical mods in the equation :)

    • @PainterVierax
      @PainterVierax 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Axel AZ That's nice at 50 watts but if it's not your taste of power you have to make different coil settings. :)
      So the difference with series is because of the chipset, booster v/s stepdown, it makes sense :)

    • @vapornation1726
      @vapornation1726 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      taste and vapor production wasnt what i ment by that, i ment how 28g kanthal has a higher resistance then 26 and 5 wraps has less resistance then 6, safety , ect

    What I did with the needle, is that I did several layers of tape where the prick of the needle is. And what that did, was basically make a lip like the screwdrivers had, so you can or could have more leverage. Just a heads up if you haven't already tried this.

    What I'd like to see is a 101 on the following:
    Why make macro vs micro vs nano?
    Does the wrap diameter effect surface area? What are pros and cons of more or less surface area or less?
    How does length of the coil effect the vape? The wattage needed?
    What is the common "proper" way to wick each type? When/why is it better to wick through the hole as opposed to around it? How much coil should be exposed?
    Where should your air hole point?
    Just some suggestions for next time... thanks Rip!

    • @EpicBunty
      @EpicBunty 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've heard reports of the wrap diameter greatly affecting the flavour and wicking of the coils so if people have trouble with dry hits, cotton not wicking then they should increase the diameter "supposedly".

    • @uriahodell8854
      @uriahodell8854 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      EpicBunty wouldn't you just be strangling the wick if you built too narrow a diameter coil? Hence building a larger diameter coil for, say, a max vg juice versus what you might build for a thinner juice?

    • @EpicBunty
      @EpicBunty 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      exactly. and if sub ohming, a larger diameter coil would also increase juice flow to the coil i would say. my juice is too pg to try it right now but after my shipment of 80% VG juices i'll confirm all of this (if i remember!)

    "Close as possible" is not a rule of the thumb. In fact it doesn't heat up quicker or better as long as you space it perfectly(just easier to crunch them together). But with having space between your wraps(equally spaced), they do not build nearly as much gunk over use. Which is a HUGE plus to me. It's rather simple. Just wrap and space the wraps apart equally as possible. Then instead of heating(Do not heat) Simply squish the coil with your fingers and let it spring back out. All the benefits of "close as possible" with the added benefit of not gunking up as quick. I wonder what this gunk does inside me...

    Thought I'd hit you up before you do a wicking tut. I just figured out a great material! Untreated sterile medical 4x4 "universal sponges". They are 100% cotton and sterile and best of all are quilted for absorption of fluids. Been using them for little while now and sop up every drop and never run dry early on chain vapes. I cut about 1x1.5" piece and roll it into a rod and just slide it through. Of course the width will change with the inner diameter of your coil. BUT why am I so excited about it? I'm running an extra wide coil, twisted 28 and 10 wraps on a 5/64. Cotton was drying up in the middle and burning off. When I'd pull the cotton there would be nothing left in the middle. With the medical gauze 4x4s being so absorbent I don't get that. It is awesome and you should check it out!

    good Vid Sir. One thing I would like to mention that WILL help with your super nano coil is to use a Pin vise to hold the needle, it not only holds the needle great (with the hollow style you can put the point of the needle inside the handle) but it also gives you the shoulder to work against . And you can get a pin vise on ebay for a lot less than $10 (just be sure you get the right size).

    Hey Rip love these video's as I introduce a lot of my family into vaping, and then they all ask on how to build on RDA's eventually. One suggestion though on the Super Nano coils. Go to home-depot and pick yourself up a 4 or 5 dollar drill chuck or even one for a Dremil tool (just a smaller chuck really, and usually cheaper). You then can use that chuck to hold the Needle and give you leverage.

  • @NateB1976
    @NateB1976 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    Nice video for people just starting out...One of the things I use to wrap nano coils is body piercing jewelry. You can get it in any small gauge and use a straight bar with one bead off of it. Just clamp on the jewelry with some forceps for a grip, wrap your coil and press it to the other bead to make it tight. If I use a needle I usually stick it in a wine cork for safety and for gripping. Cheers, N8knox

    it will tighten your coil to your screw drivers or needles if your coils is not more than 7-8 wraps

    The more wraps the higher the resistance or "ohms". With that being said. A single coil with 8 wraps of 24g equals about 0.9 ohms. But if you wrap two coils the same it pretty much cuts the ohms in half. So single .8 ohms would be .4 dual coils. My favorite so far is a dual 24g coil with 5wraps around a 1.5mm post. Equals around .2 ohms. Wicked through each coil. Very very thick large clouds

    MNKE 20A 18650's are pretty commonly accepted as being very good for cloud chasing. They have a 60A max draw (pulse), I have one and often vape sub ohm (mostly .2ohm) and the battery doesn't even get warm. I haven't bothered looking for new batteries because these are so good. I hear they're going out of production soon though, they might be replaced with something even better.

    Please discuss what coils work best on a mechanical mod, particularly how to build coils to heat either instantly or slower.

    • @PainterVierax
      @PainterVierax 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Macrocoils tends to need a bit of time to warm up correctly, like a diesel engine, but it can be nullified by increasing power. The higher your resistance is, the longer is the time to heat the coil so if you don't perform subohming don't go too far on diameter.
      You have to do some coil building experimentation to find the one you prefer for a specific atomiser. Rebuildable atty is really an « à la carte » vaping :)

    Thanks so much for the great video Rip. I have to admit that after over a year of vaping, I just haven't made the jump into coil building. I always figured it was just too damn hard, Especially for someone my age, 54. After watching this video 3 times, I think that even I, might be able to pull it off. The one huge thing that is holding me back is, The dreaded OHM'S LAW!!! My old brain just can't figure that bad boy out. I lost a lot of brain cells in the 70's. lol Thanks again.

    Thank you for this video. I'm just getting into building my own coils and this is very helpful.

    The only thing is I wish he would of went over why he squishes the coils tight, instead of have the wraps spaced apart.

    Good video, it would be the tits if you explained more about how the number of wraps and gauge effects the ohms of the coil/coils. Also, any chance you could put all of your build videos into a playlist? \m/ keep on rockn' man!

    great tutorial precision screwdrivers are all i use. They are cheap and way easier than an actual drill bit.

    Hey rip, can you make a video on the difference macro, micro and nano. I mean i know the size of the kanthal are different and stuff but what's the different functions and about size of wrap. I don't get it, and maybe a few others don't get it either. I love watching your videos btw, your reviews and tutorials awesome and that's why I hope you can teach us difference. Thanks 😬👌

    Question to all! let me get this straight the thicker the wire and the more coils the greater the resistance.So why is it that when you add a second coil it lowers the resistance? you would think a .7 ohm coil plus another .7 ohm coil would be 1.4 ohms but it becomes less resistant to .35 ohms I'm not understanding that. Help please

    • @MuhammadFaiz-un3uy
      @MuhammadFaiz-un3uy 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      thats because they are added parallely, parallel circuit will share the resistance between coil.. all the rta,rda etc are built for parallel circuit. one way in one way out.. series circuit on the other hand is opposite that.. each coil will have their own circuit.. not one way in one way out.. damn i would be a good teacher.. huhu

    Lower resistance coils are nice on mechanical mods. The lower the resistance the quicker the coil "fires". I feel like if you are using a a mech mod you should be sub-ohming. If you buy a mechanical mod you obviously want more performance than a starter pen or whatever. But with that being said you need to know enough about coils, batteries, mods etc.

    This is gonna b hard to put into words that r understandable, but I'm gonna try anyway. When I do the nano on the needle, I start out like u did with the kanthol at an angle. But I place my index finger in between the needle and the wire and hold down the wire with my thumb and sorta create that lip a handle of a screw driver gives u. It really makes it easier for me to get good tension on the kanthol when wrapping. If u read this and r saying, "what the hell is he talking about" and rreally want to know what I'm getting at u can let me know and I can try to get u a video of me doing it, but u seem to have a pretty great system that works for u already. Love u channel. Thanks.

    How many turns to make a particular coil? Turns of coil differ for different purposes? For different atomizers? With different gauges? This should also be discussed and explained.

    I know that this video was put out quite a while ago but I found the precision screw driver set it included 1.4, 2.0, 2.4, and 3.0 mm sized screw drivers at dollar general for $1 plus tax. Just thought I would share.

    use a pair of vice grip's to hold the needle and you'll be able to have a lip to start against.
