Christian is the most knowledgable Landrover mechanic I have ever seen, he and Vera also have a great sense of humour. I really enjoy their videos.
Vera is the most knowledgeable wife I’ve ever seen 😆
He’s up there on his Disco knowledge for sure he’s no Tom Lenthall though
Bloody brilliant…cracked up when you said it’s like the bedroom…”only in and out”.
I was just looking for that comment ahah
So I am not the only one who heard it😂 never get bored from this guys
It’s just it and out, like in the bedroom 😂. Happy Easter guys 👍
German attention to detail, with added bonus of lovely humour. Regards from Perth, Western Australia.
OMG Vera is the best mechanic assistant , so organised .
This is my favorite channel on TH-cam and actually look forward to Sunday mornings
Exactly 💯% Mine too 😃
Same too
I love that Vera uses really old English idioms like "it's raining cats and dogs!" Where did you learn your English, Vera? Oh, yes - another first class presentation, V&C!
I can’t help but have the literal image of cats and dogs falling from the sky.
This is how it is teached in good old Germany. I wouldn't know any other term for it either.
@@ThomasFromHome We also say "It's raining stair rods"!
Some new news to me recently is that in America we're eating cats and dogs.
Saving broken Discoverys and creating more content, win:win
Aah. A Scania logo .....
@@1chish Yes, I was the proud owner of a Scania Van Hool 40 foot coach.
@@TheGalifrey before I retired I was a Scania Master tech. at a Scania truck main dealer in the UK.
We didn't handle coaches but did do local busses. Superb engineering.
@@1chish Yeah Scania are superb
Hey LR Time, fantastic videos, really good, very informative and fun. Im an expat living in the west of the Netherlands, previous D2/D3 owner over here and unless I had to go to the Land Rover dealers, I tended to join the chat forums, gain insight and try fix a lot myself, (drivers door 30cm from the canal on the parking spot so things were slightly challenged but for example my turbo went on a D2 and with advice from a person on the internet a 20 EUR solenoid and 10 mins of installing it during my lunch break, saved me 1500 EUR. LR recommendations were to change the turbo etc etc) These forums and videos help us Land Rover fans enjoy our vehicles even more. Thank you both and to all who unselfishly post. You guys are up there with the best. Vielen Dank euch beiden, macht weiter so.
😅👍💪🙋♀️
I can’t wait to see what horrors you discover from the previous rebuild.
I would buy any of these off of you with pride.
Amazing mechanical skills, great couple, and family.
As a time served manual machinist myself, I'm jealous of your workshop and appreciate your machine skills.
Thank you two for these past 3 years since I discovered you while nearly buying a disco 3 or 4.
I look forward to seeing you every Sunday so I can disappear from this world for a while.
You are a brilliant couple with an amazing sense of humour .💜💜💜
😊🙏🙋♀️
@Vera_and_Christian Vera and Christian, you really don't know what you've done for me . Thank you.
I'm Scottish, but was born in Wegberg as an R.A.F brat. I believe you're ex military judging by places you have lived. My UK driving licence says born in West Germany.
Thank you, and I feel proud of your sons. I love mountain biking, but I have done minor bmx riding and as part of my work I have done welding fabrication and, to an extent, blacksmithing.
Much respect to all of you, especially Vera the obvious glue to your lovely family and organisation.
Love the content!!! My Disco 3 hit 448k KM on a trip to Luderitz in Namibia. Still going strong.
In conversation with my father in law this afternoon! And his neighbour victor had (pre text) the v6 jag and while climbing a steep hill in Yorkshire under 2000 rpm snapped the crank shaft! The car had 50k ish miles, just out of warranty they offered a really small kind gesture to put towards repair! The car had a replacement crank shaft in a back street garage with shit all over place and a box of bits in the boot!! 😮 On a happy note I've officially entered my mud life crisis and fit a new GOLD chain to my mtb! Radical!🤙❤👊
Love the content, I have to tell you guys I'm a British expat living in Tanzania and here in Dar es Salaam is yet another German guy who is also a Land Rover fanatic using them for his family Safari camps, he always rates Landies over Toyota, reminds me of you. Must be a German thing.
You guys should get some sort of recognition from JLR for unrelenting support love and promotion of their problematic at times [and many times] product! Great channel best wishes from the Midlands England.
Die unterschiedlichen Rückleuchten würden mich auch wahnsinnig machen…😂 Frohe Ostern euch beiden!
As always top notch, Love the way Vera calls out the "AMATEURS" happy easter!
Your policy of clean, photograph and clearly bag work every time, we had a customer turn up with a tracked WW2 vehicle he had dismantled years before , nothing photographed, nothing labelled or bagged properly, mountains of stuff in old shopping bags, broken boxes , it made the restoration challenging to say the least
This is kind of like M539 Restorations but for Land Rovers. The algorithm just sent me here. A new channel to obsess on.👍🏻
Not only Christian is the best Land Rover Technitian but Vera is the best Field Marshal he can count upon. Land Rover should keep you as the main advisory on tehnical matters. Why aren´t these videos posted twice a week? I can hardly wait for them every sunday. Merry easter.
The news and politics in the UK and the world are so depressing, but this is just the perfect escape, thanks guys!
I love the snapping and popping noises as you lift the body, it always sounds worse than it is. It looks like such a fun process, and when its done you have so much access everything seems to be easier. Reminds me of the first time I worked on an E-type jaguar, sitting on a front wheel with a biscuit and a cup of tea as I measured the valve clearances. Happy days... Thank you, I'm always entertained, even when swinging between envy and the relief that it's not my problem. Happy Easter, sorry about your weather.
What a lovely couple, love it,make me happy watching you two together.
I agree. A clean workspace says a lot about the mechanic! Also you can go to bed at night without a stubbed toe!
I Love your workshop, and the lift and pit. what more could a man want? ....A Vera ! every good project needs a Vera!
It's strange that on my 2016 LR4, the viscous coupling fan is right handed thread. Anyway, a good friend once told me: You just need to check the fan fins direction, knowing they need to pull air toward the back and that will tell you the direction the fan turns. Since we also know the fan motion is tightening the bolt, you can easily deduce the thread direction for any cars. Great episode, can't wait to watch this new series! Cheers!
Even if don't care about videos on working on cars, you got to love the entertaining banter of these 2. That is a huge job and you must have the patience of Job to do it.
😅🙏🙋♀️
I totally agree on the workshop clean idea, untidy workshop means careless work in progress 😎
Christian has my sympathy concerning his back. I had back surgery in 1997 and my back has never been 100% since. It makes me very gun shy to work on my car. I don’t have the luxury of a car lift at my house.
20:40 I suspect never in the LR designers nightmares did they think a "divorce" would occur on a domestic house side driveway 😂
Thank you for showing your journey, ex LR3 owner 😊
My favorite TH-cam couple! Note on the winch cable binding, the “official way” is to insure that the front of the winches vehicle is exactly 90 degrees to the direction of pull, then you can use a shovel handle to push the cable during the pull left or right, as you lean on it like American “Cal Trans workers”, while you watch others do the work. It takes practice, but you can wind the cable on, to perfection. A synthetic cable will also bind if crossed on itself and crush itself if real force is used.
Brillant as always😊 great organisation from vera.a great time and so funny😅😅😅
People have this wierd idea that German people have no sense of humour and that are very cold, I´m glad that you guys are living proof that Germans are super nice people, and have and excellent sense of humor and know how to manage sarcasm , and ofcourse the expertise that you have is just amazing, greetings
Ah yes, my favourite Sunday morning car fixing entertainment, thanks very much to you both…and Happy Easter!
And here goes another one .. I hope you don't tire of these for a while .. simply the best 😂 ... Happy Easter Christian & Vera
The highlight of the week, look forward to every Sunday morning. we need a weekday boost as we are suffering from LR Time withdrawal. yet again, this wonderful video Thank-you
Es macht Freude, Ihnen bei der Arbeit zuzuschauen.
Practice makes perfect 😂 Sunday in Sydney doesn’t come soon enough to see your videos
Keep up the good work good work ❤
Morning guys , forgot the clocks changed this morning 🫣🫣
The weather is crap here too , I was planning on doing outdoor stuff , but decided to go out for lunch instead 👍
I’m with you with the lights Christian my head couldn’t cope with that ,
thanks for the face update , I noticed last week I thought Vera had gone over the handlebars on her bike
I almost ripped out my eye going over the handlebar once. Have a pretty scar from that crash. 😅👍🙋♀️
Ouch
My scars are due to surgery, Iv had 3 on my spine
I told the surgeon last time , if I need anymore just fit a zipper 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Great to see the method you use to keep organised...
A manual will tell you how to do the work..
But the organisation of the parts and bolts will allow you put it back together again..
I have wondered how you keep organised.. great video
Great video ,can’t wait for next week.
Glad I found you both, excited I made it in time to start from the begining of this overhaul.
Great video. Many thanks.
I'm right with you on workshop tidiness/cleanliness.
Cheers, Peter.
Bless you friend from America. This channel is really the most (and nearly only) informative source of anything to do with the LR4/Disco4 and I am so so so grateful, honestly, deeply....life saver, not even joking. With out you guys I think I would be...Scheiße Pech I believe would be the German version of an american phrase, somewhat inappropriate here. Still 🖤❤💛
😅👍🙋♀️
Happy Easter from the 🇮🇲. Looking forward to this rebuild! Fantastic content as ever.
You pair produce one of the best informative and entertaining vids on TH-cam !. It almost encourages me to buy a Landy and lift :). Keep it up. Chris UK
You are so organised! Loved the parts in the plastic bags. Reminded me of the opposite approach when Jay Leno said 'I'm a measure once, cut twice sort of guy'.
Look it’s 0228 US time and I’m at work eagerly awaiting the next video🥴 something to keep us nurses awake. Always a pleasure to watch no matter how many sofa mechanics out there. Keep up the great content👍
It‘s coming, we are working on it.😅👍🙋♀️
Fantastic work..Great team..
Guys that was absolutely brilliant. That is one of them jobs I have yet to do but have not too many electrical items not my strong point. Thanks and yes I have been to one of those garages where you nearly fall over everything as it's in the way I don't work that way either 😊👍
Nylon wire ties. I worked at the Lorain, Ohio assembly plant for Ford Motor Econolines. Sometimes I would be loaned out to a certain job/operation that needed to be filled. I was called "the chicken-band man", and installed the ties on the firewall. .....So even factories used them. This was in the 1980s and '90s. Ron, the chicken-band man. Just thought you would like to know.
LOL. Good story! 👍. Thanks. Christian
Fantastic start! Better than an easter egg this morning. No debacles yet!
Good morning Vera and Christian.. Happy Easter 🥚 🐣 😃
Happy Easter.
We thank you 2 for such a great Sunday entertainment and information that will never us because you are the best bless you on this Easter day and good luck this coming week. Just for the hell of it here in San Diego north county raining of and on .
Oh we can't wait to get back to San Diego. 😃👍🙋♀️
At the moment we have a lot of flood damage damage rain really claimed a lot of houses . But that what happens when you build homes on hill side and natural drain valleys propple will never learn . @@Vera_and_Christian
I ❤ how Vera is so well organized with the parts taken out.👍
Oooo.. somebody else's failed project. Lots of opportunity to show mistakes. A few great tips already. Thanks !
Just what I was thinking…someone already took the body off….and then it didn’t run….triple check everything LR…
Vera and Christian you are Brilliant, most enjoyable humour, I call you the A team Brilliant, keep up the good work. Thank you. Regards Thomas
I absolutely love this channel. We were carried home by the RAC last week due to a blown apart CV joint. Wow, what a noise!
I don't know how difficult it is to roll that chassis into the garage. Maybe a cheap electric winch at the back end wall of the garage would help?
Amazing work and thank you for the honesty of not editing the bits you forgot while lifting.
It's downhill. Even gravity conforms in Germany, it has little choice. 😂
It's acutally a little bit uphill from the lift into our garage. Just a tiny bit of elbow grease is needed. No need to add a winch or anything like that. 👌🙋♀️
Another fun time with Christian and Vera.. as usual got to lie down so my brain can recover
Travail très propre soigné et méticuleux ,
Félicitations
You are both just brilliant - happy Easter :)
Great video as usual. I'm sure you're thinking about a threaded lifting pad for your outdoor lift to take up the slope in your driveway??
Blog 1 was great he knows what he is doing looking forward to blog2
👍👌Check out this entire rebuild on our channel. 🙋♀️
‘It’s only in and out, like in the bedroom’ 🤣 You two are so funny. Keep up the great videos and banter, I always look forward to your videos on Sunday. 👍🏻
You two work great together as a team...love the humour as well...👍👍
Happy Easter!
Always glad to watch an episode of LR Time and it looks like we’re going to have plenty of content over the next few weeks and months as you sort this one out.
But what happens when this one is done? Does it replace the Queen, Vera’s rebuilt Disco 3, or is it perhaps replacement for the B-Class for your eldest?
I guess we will have to wait and see.
And yes, the rear lights on the Queen definitely need to be the same 🤣
Oh, if the videos go well, we sure will be able to add just another hopeless Land Rover to our family and not need to sell one. And I really hope it will be a New Defender as they are finally getting to an age where they are not covered by warranty anymore and become to expensive for some to own. 👌🙋♀️
Hi Christian and Vera, thanks for a fantastic programme, every petrolhead should have a Vera. I have 2008 Freelander 3.2 i6 which I have had for sixteen years, never missed a beat and a great vehicle. I think you would be redundant if you bought one of these.
I can't express how much I enjoy watching your channel. Your humour is hilarious 😂😂❤❤
Hi guys
Thoroughly enjoy your videos and the chemistry between you , I’m watching from sunny 36c Thailand and would love a day of your weather , take care and happy Easter
Regards Davy 🏴🇹🇭
Thanks guys as usual a tonic on a Sunday morning have a great Easter ❤
Yeah I made that mistake once and once only with the spare tyre winch! Have a good easter Sunday and thanks for the great content!
It’s interesting that you also know that it always gets colder at Easter when we get a holiday. It never fails. All the best from England and for looking after that poor little Land Rover .Just want to add that i do recall an Easter in the eighties when it was as hot as a hot summer day.
Sunday fun, eating chocolate and watching Vera and Christian! Happy Easter! And I do hope Vera cleans all those components, so we can call her Vera n' Tuned...
😅👍🙋♀️
Nice Job! I concur on the organization of your shop. My shop has been disorganized for years, and I do crummy work all the time!
Hi to both of you …i am now fully up to date with all your vids Evan the German speaking ones which i was able to follow for most of the time as i lived in Düsseldorf and Munster when my dad was in the Army ,,,so with out a doubt you are my favourite TH-camrs surpassing even M539 ,Funny how you both live in Germany..Also mabee a new name for you could be,,LR TIME CLICK CLICK. 😂👍 so keep the vids coming
Looks like a great body to me you lucky man Christian lol. Meant in fun only and really enjoy the channel and your commitment to the most enthusiast car brand in the world. Keep it up 😜 as a fellow enthusiast...
Absolutely love this channel, amazing content, and love the banter between you two..cant wait for this build..and 100% change that light on the queen
Great video guys. Love attention to detail & organized workshop. Enjoyed watching. 👍🏼👍🏼
Epic! Love a body off fault fix and reassembly series :-)
Another brilliant video guys. I live in northern Ireland and love all your videos. But Christian what are you doing . Your pressure washer is leaking at the nozzle.😂😂.
Frohe Ostern 🐣Vera and Christian 😊 That one liner in and out was so funny 🤣 I’ve just had a very painful kidney stone and a stent inserted as the stone is too big to get out 🙄 I thought about Christian could of got it out I’m sure 👍🏻 Have a lovely Easter Day big hugs and kisses for Vera 🤗😍 xx
15:00 that's amazing!! I totally missed that🤣 that would drive me insane.
Just a wonderful way to start the day what a super video well done yet again
Great work so organised!
Hello Christian and Vera. I love watching your videos. I am new to your channel. I love Toyota and Land Rover discovery too much but never wanted to buy one because I saw a lot of TH-cam videos where people had too much problems with their cars. But now watching you guys I can't wait to go buy me one. Thanks a lot for giving the courage to go and buy me one ❤❤❤
Soon you will be so proficient at body-off engine-out rebuilds that you will get this all done over a long weekend! 😅
Happy Easter! Thank you for the Easter video. ❤
I went to work wearing different shoes thirty years ago. Nobody noticed until we had a meeting just before lunch where we were sitting around in a circle and my boss said, 'Are you wearing different shoes?'. I spent my lunch hour driving home and back to change. I'd like to say I can laugh about it now, but I absolutely can't.
@asdmcc2. You should’ve said to your boss “Glad you noticed. I’ve got another pair just the same at home. I’ll wear them tomorrow”.
I wear odd shoes every day and have done for years. I gave up trying to conform about 40 years ago.
Best plan is to fein a foot injury and brave it out.
Thank you both for another excellent video you two are such a great team!
Loving the channel. Keep up the good work from Northern Ireland.
Brilliant as always you two. Best wishes.
Happy Easter love your work vera is a 1 of a kind wives well done love your banter❤
Such a perfect.match couple! Love the channel
I am a bit late in watching this video today (Sunday 31 March) it dies not disappoint . Keep up with your dialogue you just bounce of each other. My son has a Freelander 2 and have told him to watch your videos . Stay safe both of you.
Fabulous, a clean ship is a happy ship! I've had my old Disco 3 come back from a major dealership with trim hanging off. Who can you trust? Amazing job though, OMG!
Very good watching you 2 working together you know your range rovers Phil uk
" in and out and in the bedroom also." Quote of the week😂😂
Yahoo !!!! Back on the spanners again. My Sundays are now complete
Great channel.
Suggest a towel or similar as a damper when winching
I just love this channel!
So so good, excellent and very entertaining
