    The descaling set says the instructions are in the manual of the machine, the manual says that the instructions come with the descaling thing. Thanks for making it extra hard to do something simple

    I wish when you say the machine will stop automatically you’d add the words “when it runs out water” gets me every time.

    Nespresso says their kits contain lactic acid. I used 1/3 white vinegar, 2/3 filtered water solution similar to the way I've always cleaned coffee makers. As mentioned below, I rinsed a few extra times before exiting the descaling mode. This solution cleaned the unit well.

      RowanGingerRaven Every couple of months or so. it will depend on what your water is like there at home. Perhaps if you have soft water you don't have to clean it as often.

    A word of advice. Don't start immediately using the machine. Use some more water through it to make sure nothing "bad" remains in the machine

    Maybe add that the machine needs to run three cycles before exiting descaling mode. Two with solution and one to rinse. I did once with solution and once with rinse and it wouldn't let me exit until I rinsed a second time.

    Excellent video. Thanks guys. I rinsed mine twice.
    Can you tell me what the rinse agent is? I'm concerned about the chemicals being used.

      I actually ended up rinsing it 4 times as there was still a fairly strong smell from the descaler left in the water reservoir. Even after 4 rinses it is still there, a little.
      I'm almost tempted to soak the water container in bicarb and vinegar to remove the smell.
      So, have you added some sort of synthetic fragrance to the descaling liquid?
      1st coffee I tried only came out at 20ml on the espresso setting. Bye bye one Rosabaya.
      2nd coffee came out at 30ml for espresso. Bye bye Volluto.
      3rd coffee was a lungo and that came out at 100ml. Hello Decaf Lungo. :(
      It's a bit annoying losing several capsules each time I need to reset and clean this unit. Perhaps you guys could include three capsules for this purpose in the descaling pack, specifically for 25ml, 40ml and 100ml.

      Had this issue. I closed the lid (the machine passed water as if making a Nespresso). The tried it with the lid closed and it worked!
      Also note that I couldn't turn on the machine with the buttons only by opening the lid

    What does holding the big and little buttons do? It appears to do the same thing but you can't stop it...

      Hi! Holding the ristretto and lungo buttons activates the machine's emptying mode. We recommend completing that process if you will be putting the machine in storage.

    Since the flavour of the rinsing agent is kept very long in the machine I decided to use vinegar. It has the same effect and the coffee does not taste like soap...

      Usually this issue is based on arrears of calcification in the tubes or scratches in the watertank. They absorb the taste and submit it to the water when it flows. If the watertank is scratched, it has to be exchanged. Otherwise a second descaling is necessary.

    We activated the process. Water with the cleaning soap came through but then when filling the tank with clean water to rinse nothing came through. What went wrong? Now we cannot use the machine.

    I try to clean mine but the lights don't flash when I hold it for three seconds,I closed the lid and sometimes when I hold it it makes a noise but nothing happens otherwise

    It doesn’t come out the coffee spout, instead it’s coming out the middle of the machine. It’s making a giant mess. Is there some empty capsule I’m supposed to use? I have the pure black d50.

    This video doesn't tell you that the water comes from inside and makes a total mess...and doesn't lasts 20 min. Had to check the comments to learn how to activate the 3 buttons.

      @@marietteskinner3884 make sure that there isn't a capsule stuck. I had one stuck and that's why it couldn't start the descaling.

    Estimados clientes y clientas de Nespresso, les aconsejo no comprar dicha máquina. Tiene un fallo eléctrico que se bloquea cuando se introduce la cápsula. Desde el servicio técnico de Nespresso tienen detectada la incidencia pero no se hacen responsables absolutamente de nada, no ofrecen ninguna solución, ni teniendo una fidelidad a la marca de más de 15 años y muchísimo dinero invertido en ellos entre diferentes máquinas y cápsulas compradas. El precio de dicha máquina es superior a los 200€. Valoren ustedes mismos...
