    The only reason we got the attitude era was because they were getting their behinds handed to them by WCW every week. Without that it would have been the same old wrestling for the last 40 years straight. Until there is some real competition for WWE nothing will change really. They have a formula and it works for them

      Alot of random unplanned shit happened too.
      The curtain call accidentally was recorded which punished hhh which led to Austin winning KOTR, which, the HBK lost his smile which made Bret hart and HBK not have a rematch at wm 13 which led to The famous spot with Bret hart and Austin. Then Austin breaking his neck made the crowd love him more for being tuff, then the screwjob made Vince a heel then Austin won the belt, Hbk hadda leave from injury which let the new DX start.
      Lol it's crazy when you actually look back

      That said, WWF was massively popular and successful in the mid 80s to early 90s, i.e. the "Golden Era." WWE doesn't need to use Attitude Era storylines. They just need more interesting booking and better storytelling and characters up and down the card. Triple H is not a good booker. He's far too safe and predictable. Moving Shawn up from NXT to serve as head booker would be a big improvement. NXT doesn't have the same level of talent, not even close, but the booking is stronger and more effort is put into building the characters.

      As someone who lived through it all and looking back at it now, I do believe Russo does deserve some credit for the success of the Attitude Era. One of the reasons why we remember it all so fondly today is because we were seeing shit we’d never seen before, which are things that unfortunately you couldn’t get away with today on television. However, a couple years ago, I went back and watched on the WWE Network every Raw, every PPV, all in order, from the beginning of 1997, to the end of 1999 and noticed a couple things I didn’t realize at the time.
      Russo and his cheerleaders on here seem to forget the fact that as the booker, he was blessed with not only having 2 of the biggest fucking stars in the history of the wrestling business at the same time, Steve Austin and the Rock. But also had one of the greatest heel characters of all time too, Mr. McMahon, which lead to the greatest feud of all time as well, Austin vs McMahon.
      So I’m sure Russo will forever believe he was the driving force, he was the mastermind, he was the person who deserves almost all of the credit for the success of the Attitude Era. Even though he’s never fucking achieved that level of success ever again anywhere else he’s worked since leaving WWE in 1999. But if you took away Steve Austin, the Rock and Mr. McMahon, then regardless of any shit Russo could have came up without having them, the Attitude Era would have never been as successful as it was without those 3 characters.

      @@CraigDelorme-o3k it’s true that without Austin, rock and Mr McMahon the attitude era would’ve probably sucked. That was like having 3 Michael Jordan’s at the same time.

    They already cashed the check from the network has always been true. They don't have to sell the pay-per-views anymore. THAT'S where it changed. They don't have to sell the WWE Network in the US anymore. THAT'S where it changed. The only things they have to earn with weekly effort are live event tickets and merchandise. Everything else (content) has been prepaid at a high value.

    • @DiversityJackson
      @DiversityJackson 3 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      TV Shows are seasonal and consist of a few relevant cast members. Comparing that to a wrestling company with a 30, 40 person roster that airs every week is not a good comparison.

    • @danieljwatkinsjr7121
      @danieljwatkinsjr7121 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @Diversity Jackson wrestling is the same thing lol. A new season starts after every Wrestlemania and like TV only a few of the characters actually really matter. WWE has always gotten into trouble when they try to focus on too many characters at once. You focus on the few big stars and their storylines and the other wrestlers when used properly enhance that. Just like a good tv show that focuses on the main characters storylines and the extra characters just help it move along. It’s all the same thing. Btw both are usually predictable but still entertaining when they make sense
