I’m very grateful to have been coached by Al Snow. Al gave me an education that I don’t think I could have learned if it didn’t come from Al himself. His patience, wisdom, communication in how he breaks things down to simplicity exemplifies what a great coach is & does by his actions. I model my coaching techniques after Al Snow & Rip Rogers. Blessed to have them as my mentors. Wrestlers!! If you see a seminar in the future hosted by either Al or Rip put it in the “must attend” category!

Why can't we have both? We wouldn't still talk about Savage vs Steamboat if that wasn't historic. It seems like that's when it started mattering the quality of the match. Sure you can base it off $ made, but they're getting paid more today then ever before, so in that sense, today's wrestler is the best. So not the best measuring stick. I see the point, but it's more ambiguous tbh.

Eric Bischoff on one of his podcast episodes where he was just answering questions from fans, was asked if he were to start or be put in charge of a brand new wrestling company who would be the first 3 or 5 something like that people he would hire.
Eric said it may come as a surprise to a lot of fans but not so much to anybody in the business you knows him, Eric said the first guy he would hire was Al Snow. People do not understand just how smart Al snow is and what kind of brilliant and knowledgeable mind he has for the wrestling business.
Number two for many of the same reasons he picked Bubba Ray Dudley.
Chael Sonnen had him on his podcast, the only place I can find it is on Facebook where I have it bookmarked but Chael Sonnen entitled the episode to paraphrase " Al Snow is so smart, most Fighters are not even bright enough to realize just how smart he is".

Al Snow is right about WWF ropes as I could not stand their matches or them. I never knew he was able to do 450 or moves like that as he was all about that gimmick. He was a Nomad in many ways but I think he was more over than Taz or many ECW Champions. His wrestling was alright but they really had the right music or thing with his stuff. I like how he calls them Carpenter as its like they can build the house but they are missing something hehe. I guess in a way they are like the Framer or they build that part but can't do the Plumbing. I think he was with WWE at time won title heh. Guy was like a Misfit akin to Vegas Knights Expansion Team. Who let the Dogs Out Must have been inspired by that. Never a fan of animals in Pro Wrestling heh.

I've never been a Hogan fan but Hogan is one of the greatest wrestlers of all time, wrestling isn't a competitive sport in the true sense, it's aim is to play on people's emotions and make sure they come back for more, Hogan did that better than most people, the crowd was going wildly up and down more during Hogan vs Andre than Steamboat vs Savage, therefore it was a better match

When I say it was better I mean it was more entertaining and that's not saying Hogan/Andre wasn't entertaining because it was, it was very entertaining, I just enjoy Savage/Steamboat more.

Of course Hogan is an all time great for the entertainment, etc. But, how is it always down to the wrestlers following the script to determine success or not? Vince's shows were utter crap until Paul took over. When he micromanaged everything that much, then yes. It is on the promotion/booker to sort it. Not always the talent.

I gotta disagree with his take that Hogan and Andre had the best match of WrestleMania III. Al is talking about two different things here. Did Hogan and Andre draw the crowd into the arena? Absolutely. Does that mean they had the best match in terms of the action we saw in the ring after the crowd was already in the arena? No. Savage and Steamboat clearly had the best match of WrestleMania III. They may not have drawn the crowd, but they left the best impression on the crowd after the show. And that's where I think Al is conflating a bit in his point of view.
