Windows is pretty simple to operate. There are only three things to update on the Ally. There is a warning to keep it plugged in during a bios update. That video is for people that know nothing about using a computer. I already game on a pc so it seems pretty simple to me. Modding is the best part of pc gaming.
I agree, but Windows in 2024 shouldn’t be this problematic. I just built a PC, and it was easier to set up than the Ally, which is a problem. If they want to sell a device as a handheld gaming console, it should work more like a console, similar to the Steam Deck. I have some hope they will improve it in the next two years.
@@fpvpilot7713 I don't have any problem if steam deck oled had windows my problem with steamOs and keyboard it's not had Arabic language even though most of games had it in steam market
@@nophacetech But windows is not problematic. It works fine. It is NOT a console, it is a Windows Gaming PC for on the GO. It does not have dedicated developers for the OS, but it is compatible with most if not all games. I own a Steam Deck, and i love it, but i will get the Ally X because of the graphical limitations of the Linux OS, wich are not present on windos. I kow, i tested on the Legion Go. Just an FYI, you should set FFVII remake to 60fps. Otherwise it does dynamic scaling to try & reach 120fps w/ the highest res being your selected res (1080p/720p in this case) all the way down to 480p dynamically. So it's essentially playing at 480p since it's so far away from the 120fps lock. Turning to 60 fps lock & turning off CPU boost will net you a near locked 60fps on higher settings via 720p & low settings at 1080p. Then again, my X has windows debloated etc w/ a lot of performance enhancements. So YMMV.
LoL in God of War I get between 70 - 80 FPS on 900p - Original graphics setting. Ally X is another world in terms of performance compare to the SD Oled. I own both and still like the SD Oled - but the Ally X is just waay better in every aspect (apart from Windows and some other objectiv aspects). Also don't forget the VRR display - 40fps feel so much smoother on the Ally X than devices without VRR. Just my opinion.
@@nophacetechFirst of all, as I said - turn off CPU Boost. Then make sure all updates are made in Armoury Crate, My Asus, Windows. Use Turbo Mode or even better - do your own manual power modes and adjust fancurves, start tweaking in ADM Software, etc. You'll get used to it - there is so much potential. But you have to get away from "easy peasy console experience"... welcome to true pc gaming😊. Have a good one!
kind of hard to say because i have a steam deck.. so i kind of don't see the point in doing that right now.. if i didn't i would for sure dual boot and have that set up.
The blue screen of death during installation is the most Windows thing ever. It’s insane. Having left Windows around 2010, coming back to it feels like going backwards in time. The Steam Deck has made Linux more user-friendly and a better experience than Windows-I never thought that would be the case. It’s all crazy. It will be interesting to see if Windows can figure out its OS for handhelds, given that so many new devices are tablets and handhelds, but I wouldn’t hold my breath, haha. I would bet on games running better on Linux before that happens.
The handheld devices era has just started and the real beginning will be the next generation with oled screens much better battery life and smaller sizes and lower weight
probably not just pick up a nice external battery and wait for everyone to drop the actual V2 the steam deck, Ally, and Legion go second generation is going to be wild. for now the Ally is solid.
