The real sin (missed opportunity) not having J. Jonah Jameson freaking out and not having a mental breakdown after seeing 3 Spider-Man in the same universe.
@@manonthewall10 how is Mysterio still alive? Pretty sure after the attack that they clean the place and took his body and confirms his death, otherwise Parker would know he's still alive.
An overlooked great Andrew moment: when Electro is telling him he thought he'd be black, Andrew has such a super genuine apology, "oh, man, I'm sorry..." like it's somehow his fault he's not black and that let Electro down is so wholesome and hilarious.
27:42 the reason this venom knows Peter Parker, as weak as it is, is because in the post credits for Venom 2 Venom made a remark about every symbiote in the multiverse, not just the universe, sharing a hive mind, meaning as long as one Venom knew Spider-Man, they technically all do
It's actually a good explanation... or it can be, if they properly explore it. There's tons of mystery to work with in the symbiote lore and could expand the MCU dramatically But then again, there's Green Lantern, the Fantastic Four and the whole Star Wars EU to remind us that Hollywood doesn't always do well with expansive, interesting universes full of world-building and lore. I swear to God that big movie studios must think the audience is stupid to a degree that comic books and other media have far left behind
@@zweg True that... but the only other one we have seen in movies is dead, and it probably only worked on the specific symbiotes that have met Peter or share their identity with the ones that have? Like, all symbiotes have a hive-mind, but then there's a certain level of independent connection that's unique to Venom symbiotes? Dunno, man... It's a flimsy explanation, but at least they gave us a start. Maybe it'll be more fleshed-out in the future?
This is truthe. It could also simply be another venom where spiderman exists in his world. I mean after all, there are an infinite amount of universes.
I can answer the Venom question. At the end of Let There Be Carnage, Venom explains to Eddie that the symbiotes share a hive mind across the multiverse. When trying to show him this, the two are suddenly pulled into the MCU, where Venom recognises Spiderman on a TV. To me, that says he was able to access the memories of Topher Grace's Venom, and that's how he knew Peter Parker was Spiderman.
With the explanation at the end of Venom, yes, they could have been pulled in too. I thought it was a hive, but not a multi verse hive. Still makes sense in universe
@@darthdenn1s it's a throwaway line in the movie, but he says he became part of the grid absorbing data just before he died. That must be how he found it. Every villain seems to have been pulled from the moment they found out
@@cameronhodgetts920 That's just a theory mate (almost like all of the comments on here, even yours) it's not what was given. It's just one of many (be it minor) plot issues that no one probably even considered until after the fact.
I love that this movie confirms J. Jonah Jameson’s obsession with Spiderman is so strong and genuine, he’s the same exact person in every universe no matter what Spiderman does 😂
Hey! Did you know God is three in one!? The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit! Bless them! Jesus died for our sins, rose from the dead, and gives salvation to everyone who believes in him and follows his commandants! Have a blessed day, everyone!!! ❤
J Jonah on this movie combined with his character in the recent Spider-Man games had me cracking up every time he said something. Like this dude may be one of my favorite characters in media now.
In the 90s Spiderman series they once showed a universe with a Spiderman that had a high tech armor suit. And I think in that universe Jameson was a friend of that Spiderman. But I haven't seen that in years so I'm not sure.
They are in the impossible position of having both characters act stupid, so their method of distracting the audience is to have the audience blame the 'other guy'. _Parker! You messed up my brainwash the world spell_ - Strange. _Hey that's not what i asked you to do - I asked you to turn back time._ - Peter _You know we don't have the stones anymore!_ - Strange _Well...the audience knows, but...I can at least have you remind them of why you can't do that!_ - Peter _You also know that even if I had the time stone, which I don't, and even if I could revert time for THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE, which I can't.....that it is evil to turn back time just because you want to keep your secret identity, don't you?_ - Strange _Sure I know that, but...the audience doesn't!_ - Peter 🤣
@@TheMeta141 Good point, but I wouldn't change the entire planet to suit my own convenience. Use social media to at least help your friends . Couldn't Happy help? Stark is a hero to the world, his protégé Peter would at least be listened to
Another sin missed is, in Spider-Man 2 (maguire) curt conners tells Peter “Octavius is a friend of mine”, when Pete meets Otto he even says “now I remember you’re conners student he tells me you’re brilliant he also tells me you’re lazy” this clearly indicated curt conners and Otto knew each other to a level. Otto in nwh doesn’t even react hearing curt conners name or the fact he turned himself into a lizard in an alternate universe
Another sin that's probably worth a good 100 or so is that in the last act where peter tells strange to make everyone forget that he's spiderman means that EVERYONE including the people from maguire and andrews universes along with every other universe forgets, this is just makes peter (holland) a MASSIVE DICK to all the other spidermen who probably told people about their identity
@@shivashishwar9552 When the hell was it ever indicated that every other universe would forget who Peter Parker is? Strange has shown that his magic is contained to only his own universe.
@@bro-be3bd while this is true, and what I believe happened, doing that would in no way reverse the drawing in of other people from the multiverse, because they were only being drawn in because they know that *A* Peter Parker is Spider-Man. Which they still do because only Peter 1's universe was affected. It makes 0 sense to me.
@@shivashishwar9552 exactly, if he want to do 100 sins then that's what he could have done, not for Miles Morales who should not have been in the story in the first place, it defeats the point of the Spider-Man being pulled in. Also again they should have just forgot whose Spider-Man was because it should have fulfilled the request of fixing the spell without destroying all of their relations. I mean sure you'd have to reintroduce himself as a hero but that's easier than a lot of the issues that would have arrived. I think part of the reason why that wouldn't work for the MCU Peter is that then it would just be Peter Parker killed Mysterio not Spider-Man kill Mysterio since his identity would have been known they just wouldn't be an alter ego.
By no means is this a perfect movie, there's holes everywhere you could punch through but tbh I'm satisifed with what we got because it could've gone much worse. Seeing the three spider-men together and some of the classic villains in the same movie was insane. Kinda wish they played the full themes of Tobey and Andrew somewhere in the movie.
I'm not going to argue that that WASN'T cool... but I mean... you watch that scene at home, by yourself, without the hooting and hollering in the theatre and you realize how quiet it is. Almost like the scene was given ample space for people to cheer... almost as if the reason this plot even exists is because they wanted people to "Leo point" at the screen and say, "OOOOOH OOOH I KNOW THAT GUY! DISNEY TAKE MY MONEY!!!" This wasn't a film... it was a transaction DISGUISED as a Spider-Man movie. Every decision Disney made, was motivated purely by profit.
All three Spider-Men swinging together and doing that gorgeous pose together should've removed like 10 sins. And their banter and convos were adorable and amazing
23:21 I think Sandman wanted the box just so he could get home rather than destroy it. He saw everything go wrong in the apartment and just nope'd out of there. After all, he wasn't convinced by Norman's argument and just wanted to get home ASAP. Immediately afterwards Electro says something like, "Sorry, Sandman, but no one's going home." So they both wanted the box for different reasons but, I admit, the film doesn't do a very good job at making this clear. It just kinda breezes past it.
Yeah. If he simply waited, one of the other villains could have destroyed his last chance of going home. At the same time, he doesn't want to lose his powers, so it makes sense him not helping Peter.
Because it wasn't thrown from the street... It was thrown from either the roof, or fire escape from the building across from it. If you noticed the angle in which the brick crashed in, it would imply that it was from above or straight across, crashing in downward, not upward.
well peter's gf, aunt and best friend are an exception to the spell, thus pulling only villains with the spell (convenient but still plausible as by the movie standards)
_thus pulling only villains with the spell_ ^ Lol. The attempts to explain this film are always fun because they only make the plot holes more obvious. 1) Max Electro is a villain but doesn't know Parker, but was pulled. 2) Peter 2 and Peter 3 - definitely know Parker (lol) but they are most definitely not Spider Man villains but they were pulled too? So which is it then. Not only villains, not only those who know Parker. Now what? On the real: This is simply a badly written script that has an AGENDA to get the Sony characters in the MCU. This is done with a 1/2 assed hack screen writer's excuse - which falls apart when you try in vein to explain it. Anyone else care to try, again....?
Dr. Strange: _Parker, don't you realize that in the multiverse, there are an infinite number of people who know Peter Parker is Spider-Man? They are _*_all_*_ coming here!_ Nice try though guys.
Sandman's goal in the final fight was to go back home, he wanted the box so he could press it immediately, regardless of whether the other villains got cured.
Yeah but i feel that him choosing to fight Spider-Man instead of helping him did NOTHING but prolong the fight. Dude could've been a big help in holding down the enemies especially the Lizard and Goblin. He was kind of an idiot during the fight and I'm surprised none of the Spider-Men mentioned how things would be over faster that way.
That may have been his goal but Electro quite literally said no one is going home today so it would make sense for him to attack the villains because Peter, from the beginning, told him he'd send him home when he's fixed. Flint was wasted in this movie.
@@jaredalvarez890 I'm about 99% certain that this is Sandman taken directly from or near the ending of Spider-Man 3. Seeing as all the villains were pulled from different parts of time.

One of the highlights of the Amazing Spider-Man movies was his and Gwen’s chemistry. So when she died it was pretty sad. So seeing him catch her hits me in the feels
The venom one is technically explained by the end-credit's scene at the end of Carnage. Venom is explaining to Eddie about how the entire species is like a hivemind, and Venom knows millions of things. So it's implied that the other universes Venom is part of that hivemind, hence all of that species knows about various Peter Parkers
@@MadGenius the whole movie is a bit of a plot hole - if there are infinite universes, there are infinite peters, docs, goblins, electros, everything.. what's infinity*infinity people on one planet? :D
HEY. The explanation behind the physical form of Peter still moving after his Astral form was pushed out is actually his spider sense taking autopilot. It's actually the closest thing to the comic because it's constantly referred to as auto pilot. And the spider sense little arrows (same as in ITSV) appeared as kinda little heatwaves. Hard to notice but definitely not worth the sin
15:45 for those curious the reason it didn't work is because when we saw Aunt May pull the serum off the fabricator, you could see that the progress bar was just under 99% complete. So the fabricator didn't finish so that's why it didn't work
Also, you can see Peter's spidey sense waving off his head when he got pushed out of his body, which was why his body could still react. Go back and look at Tom Holland's head during that scene, it's literally the classic spidey sense waves.
Actually it could be because Norman was "helping" Peter, so the Goblin purposefully sabotaged his own cure, which would be what triggered Spidey's sense. I thought it was pretty obvious to everyone lol.
In that moment, I felt like Norman had exceeded 'Joker' levels of crazy. Sure, the Joker is nuts, but he plays that up to mess with people....he enjoys it. With Norman it just felt like pure chaos, not an "I'm laughing because you'll never win" but more of "Regardless of the outcome, you'll never be satisfied with beating me because I'm beyond the point of suffering at the hands of others". With the Joker it's about 50% of a manipulation tactic...with the Goblin...it's just who he is.
That in my opinion should reset the sin counter to zero! I lost my shit in the theater! That is how you give a protagonist a real villian to deal with!!!
my only question is: if they were pulling everyone that knew who was spider man, even the ones that died, why didn’t the producers add any love interest? cause honestly would be amazing and heartbreaking seeing Gwen there and Andrew just knowing what will happen to her
I saw someone online proposed that maybe because the goal of the spell was "Everyone will forget you're Spider-Man except your girlfriend, your best friend, and your aunt" then the spell pulls everyone who knows he's Spider-Man into this universe, _except_ Spider-Man's girlfriend, his best friend and his aunt. That's why none of the love interests show up nor does either version of Harry Osborn. Why the fuck the spell would work like that, I have no idea.
@@conflictbrooks So pulls in everyone who IS affected by the spell. Kind of nice. Or, more likely, the people being pulled in are luck of the draw since only some slipped through at first, there is after all an infinite amount of Spidermen and everyone else, we only saw a couple. Also any and all MJ's etc aren't superpowered and would get pretty easily lost. They could theoretically "spawn" anywhere on earth. How would they find anyone? The only reason the Spidermen were found were because of Ned, and we saw that not all villains spawned nearby (see Venom).
You missed the big sin where Tom's Peter asked the other Peter's how they knew the "great responsibility" line. Andrew said that Uncle Ben said it. His Uncle Ben never said that. His Uncle Ben had a completely different, and very long, line about responsibility.
Despite the plot holes, one thing I really liked was that there were actual lasting consequences for Peters actions. It made the movie feel more meaningful.
Aunt May being dead is a non consequence - since she is fridged. She has no more function in the story than Uncle Ben, imparting the same lesson again that he already learned. There are no lasting consequences for anyone else. In fact the whole point of the plot is to *reboot* the story thereby eliminating all the consequences from all the previous stories. Doc Ock, and Goblin and Max and lizard are *all alive* again. Tobey and Andrew are Spiderman again. Parker is a kid with no high school diploma, no girl friend money or job again. No one knows anything he ever did so every - consequence leads to something he can do over. And that is the real point of the plot.
The movie might have its issues, but god DAMN Alfred Molina is incredible as Doc Ock. I was absolutely thrilled for his return. Forever and always my favorite Spiderman villain.
I also feel like Matt Murdock, after taking Peter's case would want to help protect him because that's kinda what he does. But also Daredevil showing up might be a bit much. Hope to see him more though
The fuck would Daredevil do against Electro, Lizard, Ock and Goblin? Get fucking murdered? Daredevil is a badass but he can't keep up with spiderman, let alone 3 of them. But I agree we need to see him more

They did explain why Peter was able to move his body during the out-of-body experience, it's his spider sense, you can even see the classic brainwave patterns if you look closely
The events of the film could've easily been avoided had Dr. Strange just explained to Peter (Tom Holland) what the spell will do and asked if there are any specific persons who he doesn't want affected; or even just casted the spell in a way that people had forgotten who Mysterio was. But then again, we wouldn't have another Spiderman movie.
@@wadesimmons7460 The events could have been prevented, if like Dr. Strange said, Peter thought about pleading to the MIT before trying to rewrite the whole course of reality! Also they could have used the Time Stone to go back to the last battle with Beck and stop him from revealing Pete's identity Also they could have sat down for literally 2 minutes and discussed the way the spell worked before doing it Also they could have just sent the villains back, considering that if the multiverse exists, there's a high chance that there's infinite universes with tons of shared characteristics, a lot of them with the same villains redeeming themselves or... you know, not going all batshit in the first place and just living a normal life
Thats what i thought, i figure that the spidey sense isnt exactly common knowledge only people really close to peter mention it and this movie feels like the first time he’s seen strange since endgame
Yeah I don’t get why CinemaSins gave a sin for that or needed the movie to explain that. I thought everyone just figured… spidey sense, duh. Especially when he had sort of vibrations emanating from his astral form’s head
You already added 100 sins for it, but besides the lack of Miles Morales, the “black spider-man” joke also implies that electro did not in fact know who peter parker was, making his presence in the movie impossible by its own logic
So they just threw him in instead of having Andrew Garfield's Green goblin because William defoe is the only crazy bastard who can give dignity to Green Goblin, even tho the other guy half mutilated his face
The logic is that Electro was absorbing data while in the grid. ALL data within that universes grid and in that, learned that Peter was Spiderman but it's not fully explained again~
@@liliespetals19 Then those channels are wrong. Not only did Norman see Peter's face during their last battle in the 2002 Spider-Man movie, after the latter's mask got torn up pretty badly, he also called Peter by his name then. It was the other way around actually, Peter didn't know the Goblin was actually Norman Osborne until their last fight.
The reason why Venom was transported to the mcu was that Symbiotes have shared memories across the multiverse, so Hardy's Venom is connected to Grace's Venom who fought peter parker, and that's what transported Hardy to the MCU.
or we can take it further by assuming that venom's shared memory is also connected to marvel comicverse, in which venom actually know peter real identity real well there
You forgot one thing that was also wrong with him leaving/using webs to fix the powerlines, typically in many spiderman franchises(including this one because it's mentioned in Spiderman Homecoming) his webbing eventually dissolves. So using his webs to fix the powerlines is a temporary solution that will eventually become a problem again when the webbing eventually dissolves.
I dont think they ever pretended like it was a permanent solution.... would you rather the grid be down for hours or days until it can be repaired, or the webs temporarily hold it up while a crew goes out?

I think I get sandman's motivation to get the magic box thingy, he wants it not to destroy it but to activate it so that he returns back even if the other villains don't want to. Electro even says "Sorry sandman but nobody's goin' home today"
@12:08 : An explanation for Peter's body reacting when his soul is separate IS given. It is obviously his spidersense being on full blast without his consciousness mitigating it, as is a known facet of the spider sense, but this is evidenced by the wavey lines indicative of the Spider Sense eminating from Peter's astral body's head.
Yeah I usually like these videos but haven't watched them in quite a long time and it seems they've gotten lazy. Half the sins in this have good explanations or the criticisms don't really make sense.
Its solved in 8 minutes because its Daredevil that’s his lawyer, he’s the best lawyer in the Marvel universe, also he knows when people are lying bc he can hear their heartbeats and whatnot
The spell brings people who know Peter from the latest point in their timeline. For those that died, it was moments before their death. For those who lived, it was their most recent point, hence sandman still being around and Andrew and Tobey’s Peter’s being their current ages. Lizard I guess was because it was before the lizard ‘died’ when Curt was cured
So, doesn't that mean since the Lizard was cured and sent back... there would be 2 Dr Connors in that universe? It would had to have been a Lizard that was not from the Amazing universe where the Lizard we had seen had been cured for that logic to jive. But, good reasoning. My thought is that every character that came here was redeemed or cured... every character in their respective movies came to their senses... this, might have explained why... Which means, they still die(d).
I have kind of a rule when it comes to enjoying blockbusters like this. If there is enough entertainment to be had to make up for the plot holes, I can enjoy it for what it is. Spider-Man No Way Home has plot holes galore, but it's also packed with everything I wanted out of it so I am far too distracted by the good stuff to really care about the fact that a lot of it relies on you just being like "yeah okay let's go with that"

I mean, considering the fact that NOBODY seems to actually give a shit about any multiversal rules ... that's my best guess.
The scene where peters astralbody is out of his actual body and still moves his arm actually has a good visible explanation, you see the lines of his spider sense working on his head of the astralform. This means he is still connected to his body with the spider sense
@@matheussanthiago9685 Well I mean, they're based on the comics, where Peter has those lines. And they're the same characters, so...."copying" isn't really the right word there.
I know they don't explain the whole spiderman keeping the box away while his soul is out of his body, but they do give a nice little Easter egg of the spider senses being active around Peter's head. I like that
You mentioned them having multiple cures because of the fact that they had the fabricator. But after the apartment battle, Peter didn't have it anymore. The fabricator was in the custody of the dodc and Electro took it's power source.(which is presumably now with doc oc) They sledgehammered Peter in this movie to remove Stark's influence on these stories once and for all
Plus him saying the cure for green goblin didn't work didn't have an explanation isn't true. If looked at carefully you can see the machine wasn't completely done making the cure.
I still don't think this will be the end of Stark's influence in these films, his tech makes for too useful of a mcguffin or deus ex machina for them to lean on.
Also the ending circles back to Peter's earlier conversation with strange about trying live two separate lives . In the end Peter could have made the world forget about spider man and it would have had the same impact fixing the problem. But Peter chose finally that he wanted to be spider man. Each film is all a set up to Peter becoming the true spiderman. Homecoming is him learning the responsibility of being a super hero. Far from home was about him trying to be Peter park and distance himself from spider-man. This film tied the first two together where Peter finally accepts that he is a super hero.
My only problem with this movie was the memory spell at the end. MJ specifically has a discussion with Peter about not doing any big magic things without talking it out first. And then he takes all their memories of him without their consent. And then he promises to tell them all about it later and he doesn't even do that. It's supposed to come off as selfless but honestly it just made me kinda mad.
Of course the actual agenda of the film is for Sony to make more money by creating their own SpiderVerse to counter the MCU. This is why the plot makes no sense. While the film pretends to be about Peter learning lessons and growing, the plot makes him a selfish childish idiot because it’s the easiest way for Sony to accomplish their real agenda, which is $$$.
@@summertyme5748Hi again, I disagree - yes you are right, sony now have a decent shot at bringing Spider-Man back to the Sony verse however, in this move Tom Hollands Spider-Man did learn a very valuable lesson: Throughout every mcu Spider-Man film Peter has had the aid of his friends and family, aka Tony stark aunt may, Ned and MJ, and the entire avengers, hence dr strange. Peter has always been protected in some fashion and he knows if he has a problem he has people he can turn to. This movie pretty much made all of the above null and void as he has no friends, no family - no one who can help him, Peter now is well and truly alone. As you probably know since Tobey Maguire’s Peter spent most of his time as Spider-Man concealing his identity, it was only from the third film onwards that nearly everyone in his life knew he was Spider-Man, previously this gave him thick skin, giving him the strength to make his own decisions, and fight for himself. Spider-Man is know as a lone wolf, he’s not a team player, the mcu knows where they made their mistake, this is movie is them reconciling and yes mainly it’s a cash grab but and made mainly for the fans but it totally deserves more credit than it’s getting, this may be the MCU turning over a new leaf, I think we should appreciate that.
@@fogartyfox592 I kind of agree with you that the end goal was met, to make spiderman a lone wolf. It was met, but still, the plot to even get to that point was non-sensical, it was a chaotic mess. I wish they didn't make this movie just for the sake of that.
@@farrelz.2183Yeah, it was quite poorly handled, it could have been done way better. I believe it should carry the same morals as the Spider-Man into the spider verse movie. Tom Holland should be the under dog while tobey and Andrew are quite experienced at their craft as Spider-Men, there is another discussion between the three Spider-Men and they all exchange stories, Andrew talks about his experience of losing his uncle Ben, losing his parents and learning his best friend has turned on him and tries murdering Gwen, until he as individual isn’t fast enough to save her, the love of his life taken away from him. Tobey talks about how he also lost his uncle Ben, spending his early adult years living in poverty, struggling to pay the bills, and having to cope with the idea that he contributed to his best friends fathers death, just explaining the whole dilemma of Spider-Man 2, peters life was like shit, but he walked it off, he kept swinging until he made it work for himself. Tom hearing all of their experiences not only as Spider-Man but as Peter Parker, Tom is realises that these people have had it much harder in life than he has, then his decision to wipe everyone’s memories of Spider-Man is a unideal choice he is willing to make because this is his chance to rewrite his origin story, he’s not Peter Parker who was bit by a spider and was recruited by tony stark and pretty much had his life handed to him, he can finally prove himself worth of calling himself Spider-Man
1) For Spidey's autonomous reaction when Dr. Strange pushes his astral projection out, you can see in his projection the Spider Sense ringing near his head. So his body was just responding instinctively according to the sense. 2) The Spideys couldn't create multiple cures, because they were not using the fabricator. The fabricator was powered by the Arc reactor which Electro took
I still don’t understand why he nitpicked about Peters body keeping the cube away from strange, there was an in universe reason and a visual reason for why it was happening
Or the fact that Andrew's version and Toby's version discussed having back problems from swinging around. Something that actual actors have dealt with when they have to do a considerable amount of wire-work; so it makes logical sense that a superhero who frequently uses it as a mode of transportation, would eventually develop spinal issues.
Even if the multiverse is a relatively unknown concept I have to agree with Doc Strange. Infinite universes mean infinite deaths that you can't (and shouldn't) help because it affects how they play out. Trying to play them up as semi-poor souls who need to be saved is ridiculous.
That’s the whole point. Spider-Man is the person who would still try to help despite the fact it could be pointless, he’s just that good of a person, the result doesn’t always have to be a negative, he could’ve changed it for the better.
This film's biggest sin was not properly following up on the post credit scene from Venom: Let There Be Carnage. That scene was mad hype and it needed to be respected with a proper intro between Holland and Hardy.
No, I'm sorry. But Hardy's Venom should not fight MCU Spider-Man. That Venom has no real reason to fight Spider-Man, and it's stupid for Sony to want that to happen AFTER making a Venom movie. Hardy's Venom has no reason to want to kill or even fight Spider-Man. So bringing him in just to drop off a piece of the symbiote was the smart choice.
@@sqlevolicious its mainly because the script and im gonna get attacked by saying this but tasm 2 is actually my comfort movie, i can watch it anytime and not get bored, the cgi, andrew garfield, love story and soundtrack placement were all perfect and the last two, thats what mcu's spiderman could never top it
Tobey's Spider-Man had the best story lines/villains (minus part 3), Andrew's Spider-Man LOOKED like the comics, & Tom's Spider-Man had his personality/energy
The reason the goblin serum didn’t work the first time was because it wasn’t finished. It’s shown in a scene just before the goblin reveal to be at 80% done
Or it’s because “Osborn” was helping, when it was probably the Goblin helping all along, creating a serum that would make him stronger and get rid of Osborn’s personality even more.
Regarding Tom Hardy’s Venom knowing Spider-Man is Peter Parker, he literally stated in Venom 2 that symbiotes have hive mind knowledge that can span across universes. So during the flood of knowledge he gave Eddie, Tobey’s Peter probably got mentioned and that’s how he got sent to the MCU.

Gwen, Spider-Man's love interest of the TASM movies, was inside the tower and when the mechanisms break she falls. Peter attempts to catch her with a web but it catches her in a very bad way and far to late and the momentum snaps her neck while her head also hits the ground pretty hard from the impact, killing her instantly. now its assumed, since Garfield's Spider man has apparently been at it for a very long time after Gwen's death that we haven't seen but it's mentioned in NWH, that Garfield's version of spiderman has been obsessing about that trauma in his head over and over, how he should have done it differently, how he could have saved her if he had been just a little quicker, so when he sees Tom's Spiderman's girlfriend falling, the realities he has played out in his head hundreds of times where Gwen doesn't die, where he is able to save her, enable him to instinctually spring into action as soon as he sees her falling. he saves her, but he cries because she's not Gwen, and the realization sets in that no matter how much he obsesses over how she died, what he could have done differently, he can't ever go back and change it. he's stuck with his fatal mistake and the realization that he could have saved her, that it really is his fault she isn't alive. at the same time he cries because he is happy that Tom's spiderman never has to experience the pain of losing someone like MJ. Overall it's a really beautiful moment for him because he finally gets some redemption for saving another spiderman's girlfriend the way he couldn't save his own, but bittersweet because it forces him to accept the harsh reality that he really could have saved Gwen, but he failed and nothing can ever bring her back.
The movement while unconscious thing was insinuated to be his spider sense moving his body on instinct. Which would indicate that the astro projection is just consciousness being removed but subconscious is untouched i guess. And without his conscious self, his body will react by instinct. And I will happily watch those 3 spiderman support group scene continue on.
@@fos1451 well i guess in some instances like a sleepwalker but still doesn't make sense in this context. The movements were just too direct like what we saw in Moon Knight
My big problem with Dr. Octavius has always been that he has no powers except the metal arms, yet he holds up in fights like he has super powers. His back is also able to hold the weight of those arms without a problem either.
He gets ELECTROCUTED and shakes it off. Then rolls up to Electro like “surprise-mthfka!” And butt-plugs his powers while max stands there like a punk. 😂
I think he also has a version of "compartmentalized mind" with is arms, along with improved endurance. His arms whisper to him, which probably give him increased awareness and a way to avoid vital damage, along with the arms shielding him from damage, reinforcing his spine like an exoskeleton, and being great insulators. I'm not a huge comic nerd or scientist; just a guess.
You need to watch Spider-Man 2 again, specifically the clip when he first puts the arms on. It's not his back that's supporting their weight. The arms are attached to a brace around his abdomen with a spinal reinforcement going up his back. But he's definitely taken some hits to the body/head that should've done more damage.
Its a shame Stan Lee didnt get to see this movie. From what I hear, he was always a big fan of getting many spidermans into 1 story/movie/multiverse. I wonder what kind of cameo he would pick, if he was still with us.
@Robert Monroe They couldn't exactly predict when Stan would die, nor would it make sense for them to release a film way ahead of the wider story narrative when they can just finish up the one that was already supposed to be released next.
The sin off bit for Andrew Garfield saving MJ as a redemptive arc was gold! Love how you just knew how much it would be brought up in the comments if you hadn't taken a sin off
Watching this movie felt like reading fan fiction. It was fun in the moment, but it makes no sense when you think too hard about it. I'm still bothered by the unexplained logic of that memory wipe thing- like why would Happy go to Aunt May's grave in the first place, wouldn't he not even know her without the Spider-man connections?
They forgot who Peter was. Happy knew her through Spider-Man. He hooked up with Spiderman's aunt. It's as if everyone knew Spider-Man without having known his secret identity.
3:15 That annoyed me too, but I started realizing Flash is the kind of person that would: 1. be riding Spider-Man's coattails early enough that it started in Homecoming 2. have the family connections to get this published 3. have it mostly ghostwritten
In the big fight, Sandman wanted the box to push the button. He didn't want to destroy it like Electro. Spider-Man didn't want to give the box to Sandman because he wanted to "cure" everyone first.
Max could have destroyed the box with his electricity easily. But he doesn't. Instead he asks for others to give it to him. lol. What is he going to smash it with a rock or something? lol. Sandman also wants to be cured and he wants to go home. But he is fighting Spiderman who is trying to help him, and working with the villains who want to destroy the box. Note: Don't try to pretend it's not a plot hole *Sandman is with the villains and they attack the SpiderMen together.* Why? It makes about as much sense as Spiderman suddenly deciding to fight with Thanos and against the Avengers. lol. The Villains are the only thing stopping him from going back home. Also supposedly if he isn't cured he will die. Remember? So he wants to be cured too right? lol. Nice try though, but this film only works if you are smoking weed and can't remember what happened even 5 minutes ago.
2:05 *Where - is - Pepper - Potts?* _Quintin Beck stole Stark technology and used it to pretend to be a hero from another dimension._ _He _*_killed_*_ countless people in Europe and tried to kill Parker too. The reason why Tom Hardy's venom remembers Peter is because all the symbiotes throughout all the universes including the multiverse share a hive mind so whatever one symbiote knows another one could know about it too
There's absolutely no mention of this anywhere in MCU especially about the multiversal communication. Stop coming up with lame excuses to cover up shitty writing.
You can also read about it in the venom line King in Black is when they say they have a hive mind and it connects with all symbiotes everywhere so all they have to do is access the memories of another and they will instantly have all the knowledge that that symbiote also have
First the comic book came out in 2018 and of course plenty of people that read comic books love these movies even though they changed so much about them compared to the comic books but even so at the end of venom 2 venom explains the hive mind
I think it was more of the fact that the movie itself was poorly written in its entirety. The actors did what they could but just like the Sonic games there’s no saving a badly written story.

Norman, Doc and Electro. Lizard and Sandman survived but Electro was obliterated or overloaded. He's killed. 27:53 at some point writers or something of the Venom Let There Be Carnage film said Venoms of different multiverses share a hive mind, and thus the Topher Venom shares that information across the venom's hive mind throughout different multiverses
Energy can't be created or destroyed. Electro is made up of energy. Even in the scene in the wizard dungeon he said he was charging up waiting after the fight with Spiderman, and then he found himself in that forest hence he didn't die.
@@Syntheis I get that, I'm going off the wording of any summarization of TASM2, they all say Electro was killed. And I don't recall if it was established in TASM2 either way, since my brain wants to desperately forget that clusterf*** of a film so I can't confirm from that source.
It was also confirmed that these villains are from slightly alternate timelines than their actual movies, they're not the EXACT versions since they're all either redeemed or dead, but they're nearly identical up until the point they die, instead getting zapped into the MCU right before, causing the split in the first place. So yeah, the "their redemption was bullshit then!" bit is kind of itself bullshit lol.
12:04 Fun Fact: a sin should be removed off here; he’s actually doing that automatically with his spider sense. If you look faintly around that time in the movie you can see faint white wavy lines above his head. I think it’s a cool nod to the way it showed up in old spidermen movies and shows.
What’s laughable is that this is *wrong* and shows that the filmmakers don’t understand Spidey sense, and also of the 100 sins found in this film there are now 100 posts which comment only on this one, so even if you weren’t wrong - the film is batting .010 lol. Wait. Wasn't the whole spell supposed to make everyone forget Peter was Spiderman? The spell wasn't everyone forget who Peter is so his friends should still know him and stuff, but nobody would know he's Spiderman. That would have been a way better ending because then Peter is happy and it makes more sense
You're right that the ending makes no sense and doesn't even try. It's telling that you think the point of the ending is that Peter should be happy regardless of what he does to hurt anyone else. Using Magic to brainwash other people in order to keep yourself happy it's not what Heroes do.
@@iswiftyfox8997 That’s the issue, he was overconfident and tried many “easy” ways of capturing Peter and they weren’t working and he was getting impatient and annoyed, he got distracted and this is the result.
Honestly Dr. Strange going right into the spell just thinking he wants anyone and everyone to forget him is the biggest sin in the movie. You'd think someone with a PhD would sit down and communicate before going through with something so important and then he blames Peter for not knowing his plan of action prior to commencing the spell. And to top it off he criticizes Peter for not trying to talk with the lady from MIT prior to trying to use magic to fix his problems. The whole situation is jarring to me.
It is bad, but it's not a plot hole, that's just his character. Strange is an egotistical wizard always looking to flex and loves to dabble around with dangerous magics.
@@kevinkabingu7160 , that sounds entirely backwards. Egotistical people are quick to rush into things because they already think they are right. To them, they don't need time to prepare, because they are always ready.
@@kevinkabingu7160 You realize egotistical is a NEGATIVE character trait right? Being egotistical leads you into doing all kinds of things that are bad or stupid. He KNEW the spell could have major consequences on his world by itself, so why would he go through with it for a kid not getting the special college he wanted? Yeah no, sorry but he was definitely being stupid doing the spell at all. Which isn't bad, that's his character and fits Strange perfectly.
Eddie Brock being there was explained in the post credits of Venom 2. Right before he's transported to the MCU, Venom tells Eddie that the symbiote is a hive mind sharing memories and experiences across multiple universes. Topher Grace Venom knew Peter = Spider-Man (and other Venoms too), so every other Venom knows this as well.
I’m still annoyed he didn’t change the spell to “make everyone forget mysterio existed” or “make everyone forget mysterio’s video” those would have probably worked much better
Of course. Nothing they do in the film makes any sense. You can see the strings being pulled so that somehow andrew and tobey will show up. The audience is supposed to forgive the plot shenanigans that bring this about.
15:50 it didn’t work because it wasn’t finished. The whole spidey sense situation in the apartment happened WHILE they were working on the cure but it wasn’t done.
I really do blame Doctor Strange for this. He didn't have to change the spell, he should have consulted and talked to peter about his options and what the spell will do, and confirm with him the consequences. He's the adult. Peter is barely 17 or 18. Hell I'd barely trust a 22 year old to make logical decisions.
Peter still has a brain tho I don’t get why people try to use him being young as a excuse only for this moment. He’s about to go to college you’re telling me he couldn’t have thought of the word stop? He’s Able to beat a wizard with bullshit geometry and make cures for metamorphing people but couldn’t think of the word stop? I agree it’s doctor strange fault too this movie made sure to make a doctor seem extra stupid in this movie. But let’s not act like Peter isn’t a toddler and just gained consciousness a day ago.
@@Karma-pq9fi Peter doesn't know the magic that Strange uses though, he should have disclosed to Peter what the spell actually did and it is in Strange's reckless behavior to blame the kid.
@@stryker0363 and Peter could have easily said “STOP” when he heard strange say “everyone will forget Peter Parker” any normal human with a brain wouldn say stop. Strange even says before what the spell did and Peter still agreed this literally could have been the most simple human interaction. I feel like a person would say family members and friends first to begin with the reason he came to him was his family and friends so why wouldn’t he start with that?
I blame Peter. Man really went to magic before he tried picking up a phone. And don’t even get me started on the whole I can fix the bad guys shit. Like god dammit man everyone knows when you try an change destiny events someone dies and guess what happened. It wasn’t even worth it. MAAAAAY *hits table* should of just given the magic man the box
Yeah the whole “you made me mess up the spell” plot hinges on some major contrivances, which I didn’t like. Not only is this a majorly irresponsibly move on Strange’s part, but a calm conversation about the matter would’ve avoided problems all together. At the end of the day I was happy to see the three spidermen together at once. But without that boon (and the great performances of the legacy villains), this movie is incredibly weak.
I really enjoyed this movie but this calls so many of my issues that I had with it. Probably my biggest complaint was the magical Tony Stark machine (as always) and the fact that no video or photos exist after the mind-whipe. Where did they all go?? Computers don't forget!
Really, Matpat's theory makes the most sense to me. link to the video if you want to go watch it: th-cam.com/video/IHZII4u57-A/w-d-xo.html that specific theory starts at around 8:15
The Magic Tony Stark machine was actually seen in far from home, it was used to construct Peter’s new suit. It was also utilized in Iron Man movies as well. Not trying to corrector anything lol, just a reminder that this isn’t just a random pop up.
A theory that New Rockstars posted is basically the spell alters the morories so that people who saw his face or heard his name just remember a masked Spider-Man nothing else

You also missed the sin where he actually invited them needlessly into the apartment, what would have stopped him from leaving them in the cages until he develops the cure for them.
@@GrunesGemuse I mean he could control Otto so he'd be the most obvious to bring. Peter knows he has to cure Norman's insanity, so he would not be the most logical to trust, I know he's kind of turned a blind eye to that.
@@GrunesGemuse well I think the point of curing Otto was because then he would be able to help and his was a relatively simple sure I guess, just have to recreate the chip. Honestly sandman would probably be the last one that you'd want to cure since he is the only one that actually isn't any form of scientist. He probably should have just fixed Otto, who could have probably developed the tool to cure Max while Peter cured Norman, then would have moved on to Dr Connors, then they have more than enough knowledge on how to cure sandman. Also my question is if they're both from the distant future, why didn't that Peter develop a cure for sandman already, they seem like they were on good terms.
I was always confused how the plot of this movie happens because Strange doesn't warn Peter about how his spell works, despite one of the prominent jokes in Strange's first film being that the warnings come after the spells in the book.
Actually that perfectly explains why he did it like that lmao. Feels like all the sorcerers always say hey let's do some cool shit before realizing what that cool shit will actually do
11:17 One of Peter Parker's most important characteristics is empathy. He will always make an effort to help everyone. Even the villains because he understands that they didn't always have a choice. Aunt May didn't guilt trip him. She guided him to his better nature you vacant soul.
@@N1NJ4EAGLE No even then. You can't and shouldn't be able to just turn your empathy off. In Spider-Man 3 Flint Marco killed Uncle Ben. When Peter found out he attempted to get revenge and it only made things worse. After spiraling further down Peter realized how easy it was to make the wrong choices and hurt people and so when he hears the full context of what happened between Flint Marco and Uncle Ben he is able to forgive him. After the Green Goblin kills Aunt May MCU Peter wants revenge but original trilogy Peter recognizes that won't help him. He then helps guide MCU Peter back to the right path. They cure Norman and free him of the Green Goblin and he immediately shows remorse and takes responsibility proving that empathy was the right path.
That concept implodes here. His “empathy” potentially puts millions of lives and worlds at risk. That’s not empathy, just preferential treatment. Empathy does not have tunnel vision, and it excludes no one.
Yeah but why he never learn from his lessons? In the movie far from home he gave billion worth glasses to someone he knew for 2 hours, that person is the reason why everyone knows he is spiderman.
@Pitch Mind Exactly. All this empathy bs about Peter is completely fabrication. What kind of superhero puts the fate of a few villains over every other damn person, not one who has been through the amazing things this one has. If all that hadn't happened I could understand his naivety but its not his first rodeo. It's his 6th outing and times that by 1000n because he's faced things the other spidey movies never dreamed of. Dumb as it gets like everything else in this universe.
The movie doesn’t show outright why goblins serum didn’t work; but if you pay close attention the progress bar showing it’s completion wasn’t filled all the way before they attempted to use it on him. Definitely a very small, missable detail.

It's actually a good explanation... or it can be, if they properly explore it. There's tons of mystery to work with in the symbiote lore and could expand the MCU dramatically
But then again, there's Green Lantern, the Fantastic Four and the whole Star Wars EU to remind us that Hollywood doesn't always do well with expansive, interesting universes full of world-building and lore.
What about Electro?

So they both wanted the box for different reasons but, I admit, the film doesn't do a very good job at making this clear. It just kinda breezes past it.
Yeah. If he simply waited, one of the other villains could have destroyed his last chance of going home. At the same time, he doesn't want to lose his powers, so it makes sense him not helping Peter.

You already added 100 sins for it, but besides the lack of Miles Morales, the “black spider-man” joke also implies that electro did not in fact know who peter parker was, making his presence in the movie impossible by its own logic

The fabricator was in the custody of the dodc and Electro took it's power source.(which is presumably now with doc oc)
They sledgehammered Peter in this movie to remove Stark's influence on these stories once and for all
Plus him saying the cure for green goblin didn't work didn't have an explanation isn't true. If looked at carefully you can see the machine wasn't completely done making the cure.
@@rsw0103 also, I think Toby's made the actual cure that actually worked

This film's biggest sin was not properly following up on the post credit scene from Venom: Let There Be Carnage. That scene was mad hype and it needed to be respected with a proper intro between Holland and Hardy.
That’s more of a separate movie fight. They need their own movie together
The less the venom universe is involved the better.
That garbage movie should stay away from anything else
Hardy venom was an abomination
They are going to set venom up right in this universe
No, I'm sorry. But Hardy's Venom should not fight MCU Spider-Man. That Venom has no real reason to fight Spider-Man, and it's stupid for Sony to want that to happen AFTER making a Venom movie. Hardy's Venom has no reason to want to kill or even fight Spider-Man. So bringing him in just to drop off a piece of the symbiote was the smart choice.
This absolutely is an explanation
The fact that I flat out cried AGAIN with just that 10 second clip of Andrew saving MJ shows why that sin off is deserved!

@@starcycle4308 well it's kind of a spoiler but given your comment you don't feel the need to watch tsam2 so I'll just fill you in.
essentially, in the Amazing Spider-Man 2, Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man fights his universe's green goblin in a clocktower, and as the fight ends a bunch of the clock mechanisms fall out from being damaged.

But what instinct was it reacting on? There was no reason for his body to react
Additionally, if you look closely at astral Peter's head, you can see the squigglies of his spider sense, further emphasising this.
So basically instinct can move the body themselves without needing any consciousness?
@@fos1451 well i guess in some instances like a sleepwalker but still doesn't make sense in this context. The movements were just too direct like what we saw in Moon Knight
There was also slight waves around his head when in the astral form, which is the Spidersense

Let's be honest, fandom aside, the movie is fucking dumb.
They forgot who Peter was. Happy knew her through Spider-Man. He hooked up with Spiderman's aunt. It's as if everyone knew Spider-Man without having known his secret identity.
Peter would have had reintroduce himself to Aunt May if she were alive, because she knows Spider-Man is her nephew, but doesn't know his identity.
Unfortunately I sat beside someone who didn't care for the nostalgia they were riding on. Hence, she passed it on to me🙂
