It's so amazing that almost 9 years later from this video on we pretty much and FINALLY got EVERY RPG Game port released here OFFICIALLY the one way or the other! Even Live-A-Live now! What a time to be alive!
Hooked on your videos. You do so many things right. You list the games in the description, show just enough gameplay, and give brief summaries of each game. Keep up the great work. 😃👍
Some racing games, as you ask: - Uchuu Race - Astro Go! Go! - Zero 4 Champ RR - Shinseiki GPX: Cyber Formula - GT Racing - Drift King Shutokou Battle '94 - Drift King Shutokou Battle 2 - Bike Daisuki! Hashiriya Kon - Rider's Spirits - Kat's Run - SD F-1 Grand Prix - Waku Waku Ski Wonder Spur
I just got into collecting Super Famicon games and your channel ha seen a big help. Thanks for what you do. All your video are still great after all this years.
My parents actually got me Japanese Pokemon Yellow when it cam out because they weren't accustomed to the idea of reading in video games... I winged it and tried my best.
Nice recommendations, most of these seem like games I would enjoy. I emulated Majyuuou some weeks ago and I absolutely loved it! I can't wait for my vacations to finally try a serious attempt at beating it.
I would definitely have to recommend Tetris Gaiden. It's a 2 player tetris game that has abilities that the players can use on each other to harm each other. It's one of the most fun I've had paying 2 player games because anyone can jump in and enjoy because the game is so easy to understand. I saw the guys over at giantbomb play it so I bought it myself and haven't regretted it.
I play snes games on my computer in front of my tv, with a SNES controller and a controller to USB adapter. I only have 5 games right now, Super Mario World, F-Zero, Super Metroid, Chrono Trigger, and DKC2.
Ahh Violinist of Hamelin, you are finally on your way to my abode. In a matter of days I will own a cart only copy of you. You are one of 2 much sought after games for me, and now you're mine. Only Ghost Sweeper Mikami to go in the sought after department.
I’ve just watched a couple of your videos and I’m hooked all I need to do now is find a SNES at a good price. I Remember the scope my mate had lol slash bazooka
What about games that WERE released in english, but you wanna buy the JP game because it's cheaper? I know of at least one that has an english setting, and that's Super Metroid. Any other ones?
Not sure if you found out about this one yet, but "Battle Cross" is a great japanese racing overhead game. I had a lot of fun playing it with a friend of mine through netplay.
In 2024 Google Translate has helped me play so many Japanese games with it's camera translation feature. The AJPW wrestling games have been a blast to play even though we technically got one of them here as Natsume Championship Wrestling.
Thanks you! Just got a Super Famicom with some easy titles: All Mario games, Super Adventure Island, and Final Fight Guy and have been looking for recommendations for English-friendly Japanese titles.
You fine sir are brilliant! I believe this may possibly be the single most finest SNES video on TH-cam ever Myself being a long time Super Nintendo fan and gamer and always loving a quality game regardless of its original language was very happy to find your masterpiece here Yesterday was my Bday and you just provided me with the gifts so TY kindly
I would also recommend the 3 Ganbare Goemon games that were released in Japan but for whatever reason the U.S. only got the first one and titled it "Mystical Ninja."
About 12 years ago I thought I'd be slick and import Rockman X3 to avoid the steep cost of Mega Man X3. At the time MMX3 was probably like 70-80 bucks which seemed pretty stupid expensive for a used game then to me, while the cost of importing RX3 was 30-40 with the box, brand new, after shipping. Seemed like a no-brainer. What I didn't realize was in RX3, there was a bright white flashing effect during explosions after you killed bosses that was not nearly as prominent in MMX3, I guess this was toned down or removed from the North American version? So after putting in an afternoon with RX3, I realized after I looked away from the TV that I couldn't see anything. It was like staring at the sun too long, but instead of a tiny spot in your vision that's messed up, it was everything but a tiny spot, which freaked me out. I took a nap, and woke up fine, but afterwards I was like "yeah, fuck this" shelved the game, bit the bullet and shelled out for a US copy and never looked back. I didn't have a seizure or anything, but the assault on my eyes/brain definitely raised a few flags. I have not experienced anything of this nature when playing MMX3 for similarly long sessions, even in poorly lit rooms, or any other game for that matter. Has anyone else experienced anything of this nature, when playing a JP version compared to a NA or PAL version of a game?
Did you cover Wrecking Crew '98? Its Super Famicom only, no heavy reading required and its fun as heck for a puzzle game, but apparently its borderline "non-playable" since (apparently) there's no way to get bombs! With no bombs, you can't rid of steel plates that the opponent drops on you. i googled in JAPANESE to try to learn how to get bombs, and nothing. HELP!
You know whats a good super famicom game? Godzilla Kaiju Daikessen. Its a fighting game that plays just like street fighter. You have some classic Godzilla monsters and its a lot of fun. Its so stupid that Nintendo power actually put an ad for this in north america and it was never mentioned again.
Can you play Seiken Densetsu 3 without knowing Japanese at all? i have a Super Famicom system and would love to import it but was worried since it was a JRPG
Publish date: January 6, 2014. I also had an annotation there correcting that, but since TH-cam disabled annotations, I had to move the note to the description, but I guess not everyone looks there.
If you have a mac look into open emu it has literally every emulator playable and i hooked up my x box controller to it i an SET! Try it out and you can play games before you but it
Great list; thanks! Played through Seiken Densetsu 3 based off this list. Great game, though beat out by Secret of Mana, as it seems like they regressed with features and made the game a little harder in some aspects. The story, as well, is split between many heroes, so not as memorable as the original, Secret of Mana, though it adds replayability--if you wanted to replay such a game.
I would call bomberman a party game (since you can 4p), not a puzzle game. For the puzzle genre I'd say Mario and Wario, Umihara Kawase, and Sutte Hakkun. But I didn't watch the other parts yet sorry if I said an already mentioned game Edit: Yup all of them are in the following parts, nice
Such a cute dog :D Yes, I'm a bastard.. A real bastard for getting the scraps from north america, and once in a full moon get a game that that continent didn't get :P you do realize that we've been screwed over time and time again sooooooo many times while NTSC territory got so much fun? not that I think that americans are the bastards, but you sir are the lucky bastard XD Great video! Hopefully you see the lightheartedness in my comment ;)

Total hidden gem of a TH-camr
LOL Your dog is awesome
I agree!
*****
Dachshund mix? I have 2 dogs, a Beagle and a Dachshund
*****
Corgi + Yellow Lab mix. And a buttnose.
The dog has a double nose.
Any video with a doggo like that deserves a 👍
No "Mario and Wario"?
The whole thing is in English! The only Japanese is on the cartridge label.
Thx
Some racing games, as you ask:
- Uchuu Race - Astro Go! Go!
- Zero 4 Champ RR
- Shinseiki GPX: Cyber Formula
- GT Racing
- Drift King Shutokou Battle '94
- Drift King Shutokou Battle 2
- Bike Daisuki! Hashiriya Kon - Rider's Spirits

Thank you so much for this!
part 2 is welcomed
I KNEW IT: Dogs do have TH-cam channels & can speak!
thanks so much for posting this! that gundam game looks so great omg
I have been looking for a video like this for a while, thank you!
My parents actually got me Japanese Pokemon Yellow when it cam out because they weren't accustomed to the idea of reading in video games... I winged it and tried my best.
I speak, read and write Japanese and you did not butcher the titles. Great choices, and great channel!
Bastards in Europe... i died

Your dog is like "might as well get outta bed" walks around the room and says "fukk it, imma sleepy"
Every day
"and get chased by a giant cake-frosting dispenser" lol.....That dispenser actually reminds me of something you would find on a Flood ship from Halo.
Ahh Violinist of Hamelin, you are finally on your way to my abode. In a matter of days I will own a cart only copy of you. You are one of 2 much sought after games for me, and now you're mine. Only Ghost Sweeper Mikami to go in the sought after department.
"Those bastards in Europe" lol
Awesome. Please make some more videos like this!
I’ve just watched a couple of your videos and I’m hooked all I need to do now is find a SNES at a good price. I Remember the scope my mate had lol slash bazooka
Did they really make a Back To The Future game and released it only on Japan? What the hell man?
What about games that WERE released in english, but you wanna buy the JP game because it's cheaper? I know of at least one that has an english setting, and that's Super Metroid. Any other ones?
Yeah, I'm going to need to see more videos of your dog.

Do re mi fantasy was released on the virtual console for the Wii.
I know you can just remove the pins, but being a collector, I had to get a super famicom. These videos gave me lots of ideas of what games to get
I did some research on Hamelin violin no... Whatever it is (Violinist of Hamelin), and found out it's based on an anime of the same name
Big fans of the channel.
Was Clyde named after the Clint movie "every way but loose", the orangutan? That be pretty awesome
More videos with Clyde pls.
The dog is to cute. Thanks

Quinn Reiswig Thanks! And thanks for watching, happy new year!
Was Nightmare Busters in any of these videos? I don't think he's done an in-depth look at it, right?
Liked for the puppy
Constructive criticism: more puppy in future videos
Awesome list. Now I have some games I can look forward to importing.
Automatic subs calling you 'sniff trunks' made my day.
I would also recommend the 3 Ganbare Goemon games that were released in Japan but for whatever reason the U.S. only got the first one and titled it "Mystical Ninja."
I love how u show your dog off instead of showing your face lol lol lol
I have Jikkyo Oshaberi Parodius, which is the BEST Parodius and side-scrolling shooter for SFAM, best part is that my Retro Duo plays SFAM games!
I want to pet the dog!!
Great work Sir thank you
hahaha, great intro visuals. subed.
thank you for the great list!

Hi dude nice video!
What's the music in the beginning?
Do all games on the Super Famicom have English text option like how the US version has Japanese text option ?
Hi SNESdrunk would you include Super Metroid (SFC) US friendly in this list.
Do you have a Famicon import list? I would appreciate one of the kind from u
Good video. I just picked up a *super famicom* and I'm super excited to expand my horizon of games out there. Thank you
Snes Dog 😁😁😁
Id like to see him/her in more videos he/she seems like such a good boy/girl
Where is a safe site to download the twin bee game?
Do Super Famicom roms (and english patches) work on the SNES mini?
With the RetroN 5 close to release, I've been wondering how I could expand my retro gaming horizons. Thanks for the suggestions.
Quality Clyde Content.

What part of the midwest US are you from?
Dude, I think your dog is talking to me..
shounen ninja sasuke actually looks like tmnt 2/3 just faster and without turtle swag
Can you play Seiken Densetsu 3 without knowing Japanese at all? i have a Super Famicom system and would love to import it but was worried since it was a JRPG
No you can't. Maybe with some guide, but i recommend repro card or emulator.
I would say get a retron 5 because you can add the language patches to games, or get a flash cart.
Dude. That dog is cool as all
How much i love Parodius
I can't click your annotations when you put them under the tracking bar.
Sorry, blame youtube, they're phasing out annotations altogether. I'd have to re-upload the video with static captions
Live-A-Live is a fucking master piece of a game.
The ending is amazing
Bought live A live still waiting on it to arrive from China another month it'll be here....hopefully
Very cool video! A list of the games and how to spell them would be nice!
Those are listed in the video description. Thanks for watching!
Barkın Uzun
Barkın Uzun vvv
Barkın Uzun vvv
awesome video, you should do a famicom version!
good video, I think sometimes the game audio is too loud
What about Clock Tower?
I wanted to get the Japanese Chrono Trigger since it's like 1/10th the price, but I'd really need to read for that one
Why does the Super Famicom have english text on the console itself? i.e. "super", "eject", "power", ("select" and "start" on the controllers), etc.
Propably because they think it looks cooler?
oh hey you have a dachshund mix. handsome boy.
I think you should try to reinstall the dog motif. Where your voice comes from the dog.
It's really cool
I no understand english, who name is the 3 game ? Slingo be have adventu4es ?
Battle Racers actually is a Power Rangers Zeo Game Just so you guys know...makes it easier to find

Open emu is awesome I'm running the experimental version with more consoles and my dualshock 3 and fight stick, happy days!
