Great video…nice laidback vibes. I sold my original Aya Neo and my Steam Deck to get an Aya Neo 2. I’m confident I made the right choice. From day one with my Steam Deck, I was always disappointed with the screen and every time I turned it on I had to wait upwards of 10 minutes for the latest shader updates for almost every game. (I usually had about 50 games installed on average)
See this is the thing! I love the steamdeck and until I had my own steamdeck, I didnt believe in Handheld PC gaming. But the workarounds for epic games and other launchers were just annoying. I had alot of games on Steam already, but some of my favourites like Tom Clancy stuff I had on Ubisoft Launcher or Epic Games for my Free PC games. I think this is the best choice console for those who have games on other platforms as well as steam. I was deffo dissapointed in the SteamDeck Screen in comparison to the Nintendo Switch OLED screen - but then again, the Nintendo Switch had the most annoying performance for 3rd party games. It was almost a gamble whether a game would play smoothly or not. Not to mention, alot of my online games could not be played on Steamdeck OS due to cheatbusters and stuff like that. The Apart from the lack of touchpads and rear buttons, the Ayaneo 2 seems to be doing well for me.
@@TechJamo I agree with most of what you say. I also found that Steam Deck Verified was a bit of a lottery as well which was annoying. Some verified games don’t even launch, some verified games I bought just to play on my Steam Deck stopped working after updates etc. Making it a Linux based system was a mistake in my opinion.

I did like the Steam Deck interface though! Especially the menu system - where I can quickly click it no matter what game to get an effortless overlay where I can mess with the performance settings . Yeah steam deck verified was dodgy - some games that told me they were completely unplayable worked like a charm! Sunset Overdrive for example being one of them.

The price of the deck is unbelievable which made the decision harder. Just about weighing up those pros and cons and what you want from it. Hoping I like it when it arrives.
Yeah each console has pros and cons. If it was for someone who doesnt like tinkering with PC's I would deffo say the Steam Deck is the best option! However for someone who is more of a power user and perhaps wants to connect the console to a monitor, the Ayaneo 2 would probably be better in this situation. It's weird that they are similar devices, yet they hit different crowds of people.
I thought long and hard about the pros and con's and decided on the deck... Once these devices get a decent distribution in the UK and get a couple generational tweaks I will likely up grade.. for now I am happy replaying and finishing the games in my Steam Library, the older ones all play at max graphic settings 60+ fps so I can't complain at that.
Mine turned up yesterday. Black 32GB 2TB. It is definitely a sexy bit of kit. I didn’t get a chance to do anyting yesterday but I’m setting it up now. Can’t wait to get gaming dude!!! I also had to purchase Evil West to play on this thing cos after watching your video that game looks hella fun. 🥳

That is such a nice looking machine but, like your said it's definitely an enthusiast machine for that price. If I spent most of my time travelling around on trains/buses then I'd definitely want something like this over a Steamdeck (just for the battery life alone).
I actually get LESS battery life on the Ayaneo2 than I do on the steam deck. However, I havent taken the time to mess with the wattage per game. I heard someone saying that playing at 33w when not docked is not worth the performance increase. It's better to switch to 18w and then configure each game to run best at 18w to get the best battery life apparently. I'm gonna try this soon!

Interesting review, nobody mentioned aya overheats at 32 watts, I'll keep an eye on that (already preordered, waiting for mine). Btw, was it manual 32 watts (custom profile) or a pre-baked profile with such power target ? Interesting set of games, also. I recognized only "Kena" )
Yeah tried to pick out some different games instead of the usual Fortnite apex and a whatever lol. Yeah the 32w is set through the custom profile on the ayaneo 2 app
I want to get aya neo geek, but shipping won't be until March 2023. Tempted to just get the deck, I could also get Aokzoe, but everything I've read sounds bad, so many issues. The reason why I want the 6800u over the deck is for better ps3 emulation and online multiplayer. But, the Aya Neo Next 2 is the real Steam Deck killer, it's gonna be like a next gen deck with 7000 series and track pads in perhaps a better position.

Just bought the steam deck and returned it a week later and said I will just pay the extra for the aya neo 2 just for the screen and size alone . Steam deck is too long and screen quality I did not like , I'm used to good quality screens and the deck screen was urking me . Plus the steam decks wifi always had trouble connecting . I rather have windows since I'm familiar with it to install games etc with epiC and origin alongside with steam os
I've never had the Steam Deck because I think it looks ugly and is way too big for my small hands. I own an AYANEO 2021 Pro, AYANEO NEXT and AYANEO Air Pro and I have to say I love 'em all, especially the Air Pro! But I definitely agree to all of what you say in the video regarding AYASpace and the missing console like experience and all that. I'm excited for the Steam Deck 2 and I really hope it's gonna be more suitable for smaller hands. Then it could be one serious consideration for me.

I loved my steam deck so it's sad it's just going to be collecting dust. The ayaneo 2 is just a beast the battery sucks but i have no problem playing plugged in. Having mine for about 2 weeks i just haven't used my deck i formatted the sd card and moved it over to the ayaneo 2. I would say navigating windows with this thing was tricky at first but within steam you can set controls for desktop using the controls on the ayaneo 2 so mapping the triggers forward and back helped browsing the web. You can really customize the controls to make it a very fluid experience i highly recommended it. I really wish they made protective cases bc nobody sells them

Aya Neo 2 is great and is head and shoulders better than the Steam Deck but the value/price of the Steam Deck will make it a better buy for a majority of people. If the price was about the same then it's not even close. With that being said, I'm waiting on the Aya Neo Next 2. Already preparing to sell a kidney and give up the rights to my first born lol.

I use the built in fps ting inside the Ayaneo space app. But you have to launch the game from the Aya neo space for it to work.
