All you have to do to beat Ben Afflecks Batman is to yell Martha till he collapses.
Lubna Khan ?!?
and Keaton just have to say "Ever dance with the devil in the pale moonlight" or West "Look theres a female"
DJ constantly looking at the camera like Jim from The Office whenever something dumb is said is my favorite thing in this episode lol.
A L E X !!!!!!!
17:37 is my favourite.
Alex Love it's great at times but very awkward when he looks at the camera when he's talking like he's trying to convince us or even worse when he's looking for 60 seconds and nothing is being said he's like trying to snatch the souls out of people.
Catwoman obviously, the basketball scene is unlike anything ever seen before in the history of cinema. Superman 4 and Batman and Robin are also really epic and *cool*, IMO.
And Fant4stic
Did you wash your mouth out after saying that?
Mike's MOCS Yeah Fant4stic was so amazing it transcended both DC and Marvel, and became neither as it was so obv superior to both. A+ 10/10 movie right there.
headbite alien Nah i think my mouth is pretty clean. I already brushed my teeth this morning.
Mike's MOCS etc news
32:38 Marc's face is wonderful. That is an expression of pure disgust
Another great episode, guys. Although I'm personally feeling like the episodes where they surround superheroes are getting kinda old. What happened to the old school questions where it was like "What's the best movie shoot-out?" or something like that? Does anyone else feel this way?
I loved Wonder Woman, but we saw the same movie 6 years ago. It was called Captain America: The First Avenger. Scrawny kid becomes a super hero, joins up with some military misfits to go off and fight a crazy German and his pet scientist, only to end up being separated from the love interest by a heroic sacrifice involving an airplane.
Shawn Smith true but wonder woman did it better in my opinion
If you emulate a movie that was done 6 years ago (by a fledgling studio no less) and can't improve on it then there's a problem. I'm thrilled that Warner has finally made a good DC movie that isn't about Batman - something they haven't managed since 1980. I hope it continues.
Shawn Smith you're a genius. I hadn't even thought of that
The Dark Knight is the best DC movie, although I don't think Ashley did a great job arguing it.
Riko Saikawa Wonder Woman was ehhh. Could've been WAY better
Phantasm is better than both Dark Knight and Wonder Woman - Combined
@@falkofscrum Phantasm is great, but it's not better than either of those on their own.
It seems like Marc either over sells a movie to an insane degree (Wonder Woman) or undersells it to an insane degree (La La Land)
Not that I don't agree but aren't you supposed to do that on Movie Fights?
Watchmen or Dark Knight, Wonder Woman was good but it doesn't hold a candle to either
Watchman aside from the first 10 min was a snoozefest
GrandOne Network Did I say Wonder Woman was bad ? No I said it wasn't as good as The Dark Knight
@@MrNine1wingUmmmmmm Rorschach's journal???
I actually like Batman Begins. Underrated.
the dark knight without a doubt.
Niels Verstappen The Dark Knight Trilogy movies aren't strictly DC movies, the same way Logan isn't strictly a Marvel film. They were DC properties licensed out to Warner Bros. Same as Marvel licensed X-Men (mostly) to Fox.
yeh but the question isnt whats the best DCEU movie or the best MCU movie. I understand those 2 movies are the bare minimum of a comicbook movie.
i agree it's the dark knight but lets be real, it's because of heath ledger... that guy carried that movie on his back so damn hard... bale's batman wasn't great and nolan can't direct fights properly unfortunately (he's good at directing car chases and all that but those fight scenes were a complete joke). but heath was so stupidly amazing it turned a lvl 6.5 or 7 movie into a lvl 9 or 9.5 movie.
btw, affleck is the best batman so far, but now he just needs a good batman movie to remove any doubts people might have, 'cause BvS didn't really make him justice... and i'll also reserve my judgement about jared leto's joker until he gets a movie where he shows up more than 6 or 7 minutes and actually contributes to a plot, 'cause leto's joker did pretty much nothing in suicide squad...
Am I the only person who prefers Batman Begins to The Dark Knight?
Paul Grant Batman begins is better than the dark knight
People who say The Dark Knight is only good because of the Joker obviously didn't pay attention to the movie.
We all know the best DC movie is Batman and Robin.
You spelled Catwoman wrong.
King Kong
THE ICEMAN COMETH
King Kong I KNOW RIGHT WHAT A CINEMATIC EXPERIENCE AND DESERVED THE BEST PICTURE AND BEST SUPORTING OSCARS!!!
WHAT KILLED THE DINOSAURS?
THE ICE AGE!!!!!!!!!
King Kong I love that movie, it's a fucking masterpiece.
The face of Mark after the reveal of the trick question is priceless xD
I am perplexed at the critical and public reception of Wonder Woman. It was an okay movie at best IMO. Hope I'm not alone in feeling this.
Gabriel Alvarez no you are right. People like andreyko watched this movie with rose tinted glasses on. I am all for female empowerment but the movie has to be good to get that kind of praise.
So disappointed in the critics basically getting nervous after the backlash of ghostbusters (which is a terrible film) to judge this movie better.
It's at best a 6.5/10
Couldnt agree more
No, Wonder Woman was a Great Movie.
It had everything what a Superhero Movie should have.
I agree that it was not better than The Dark Knight Trilogy but whatever it was great.
It was 8.5/10 Movie.
Every time Marc fights is a must watch.
Marc Andreyko is definitely overselling Wonder Woman
Han in the Millenium how is he overselling when that's how he feels.
+WoodBlock707 Well clearly when you argue you're passionate about yet is logically the wrong answer that automatically makes you wrong on a multidimensional level.
I really enjoyed Wonder Woman but Marc is talking like it's the greatest film ever and has redefined the superhero genre. I get the significance of a female lead in a comic book film but I didn't think it was 10/10 spectacular.
KingAdesaTheWise it's more of a 6/10
He's criticizing the dark knight but can't find one flaw in Wonder Woman. The biggest clown of a reviewer I have ever seen. I never trust this guys review.
Daniel Almodovar Rico well the only reason why I call him that is because he is clearly biased being someone who has written for Wonder Woman. Go watch the screen junkies review he did with Roth cornet and Dan Murrell.
He constantly cuts them off when they are offering any constructive criticism but he calls this movie perfect. I mean I get you liked it but be objective.
He think the villains in this movie were great, like he lost me when he said that. After that I knew it was going to be a very biased review. He actually made the movie sound like it was the second coming. It's reviewers like this which hyped people up so much that they left the theatre disappointed instead of excited because I was expecting amazing and what I got was good. I feel like just because this movie was the first female superhero movie it was exempt of a correct review because of the sjw culture we now live in. That is unacceptable and I hope wasn't done because of the hate people received for their ghostbusters reviews.
I would like to think no one wants a movie to fail, that is plain idiocy. I just want movies to be good. I have had my disappointments across all of this universes even the mcu. Remember that ironman 3 was getting huge praise at first but is actually considered very divisive (I lie on that end of it myself). So I can't give this movie a pass because what I saw was not what was promised. It was the reviews that changed my expectations. I'm sure if I went in with the original expectations I had, I probably would have actually been able to look past it.
I just hope for better female superhero movies in the future that warrant the praise for being amazing. Force Awakens for almost all intents and purposes was a Rey film. Mi-5 with Rebecca Ferguson is basically half her movie too. There are strong female characters where the movie doesn't suffer. I feel like if people took a step back and compared, they would be like we took it easy on this movie and I'm expecting we will see that when Captain Marvel comes out, Dark Phoenix and WW2
you didn't think it was 10/10... emphasis on "you". film is 110% subjective. people really forget that it's ok for you to hate a film i like and love a film i think is horrible.
Have you.... seen this show before. The idea is to sort of exaggerate the good qualities of your pick and the bad qualities of your opponents'.
Raghu Sharma your obviously a marvel fanboy if you think Wonder Woman is a 6/10
The Dark Knight is the best DC movie still. Ben Affleck is my favorite Batman, but what made the Dark Knight and the trilogy so good was not Bale, but the villains, the supporting cast and of course Nolan. WW was great, i hope the DCEU keeps it up.
You havent really watched Batman Begins then. Bale was phenomenal in that
Andy Castellanos
Batman doesn't kill.
Batfleck does.
Batman Begins is still the best BATMAN movie.
Dark Knight is Joker's movie, obviously.
And Rises was an amazing ending for Bale's Batman.
I know Batfleck does? so does Bale and every movie version of him. Batfleck was just more obvious about it. But yes, i believe Batman begins is the movie that felt more of a Batman film then all the others (except for the amazing Batman : Mask of the Phantasm.)
Yes i have, look at my profile picture, i'm an obsessive Batman fan haha. Like i wrote just now, Batman Begins felt more of a Batman film then all the others except for the cartoons. Bale was good for what they were going for, sure.
Meanwhile WW has a boring bland forgettable villain. Still a good movie.
TRIGGER WARNING: POTENTIAL DIFFERENCE OF OPINION
I think Batman Begins is better than The Dark Knight.
Mike Ock
there are definitely arguments for it. I think tdk is slightly better but bb is more rewatchable.
I listen to many Batman/DC podcast and a lot of people put Batman Begins above TDK... although I disagree for me TDK 9.9/10 and Batman Begins 9.5/10 for me
Mike Ock I agree
The 3rd act of Wonder Woman is questionable, which is a shame because the rest of it is good.
Mether the third act is amazing I don't see your problem with it
It's not that the third act is bad, in fact most of it remains somewhat good, but when she starts fighting ares my eyes just sort of glazed over. The fight went on much longer than it should have, and the dialogue seemed kind of stupid. Again not terrible, just not good either.
Wonder Woman exaggeration is real, ultimately it doesn't break that much new ground other than representing females. It's just another superhero movie though I do really like hero movies and have nothing against that
Wonder Woman is really good, but it's not nearly as good as The Dark Knight Trilogy. It also doesn't belong with Raiders of the Lost Ark.
Meb2x So it's not as good as Dark Knight Rises? Must be a pretty terrible movie then.
Meb2x yeah dark Knight rises was Garbage
DJ was really good. Hope he comes back.
I think Ashely likes showing off how many letters she knows of the alphabet 😂 17:25
The new intro is amazing! So much better than previous ones. Great job! Love this show too, thanks for providing such great content. I've been watching since the first fight.
DJ's face when she mentions LGBTQ+
ArmaniTheFirst im glad someone else noticed lol.
Lmao I just saw that. Was amazing.
ArmaniTheFirst Yeah, it was priceless. She proceeded to list half the letters in the alphabet and he was so baffled. Then again I would've been too. Can't believe she managed to get that letter monster out without getting mixed up.
Timestamp?
Trevor Wood it's in the second round
i really like the dc CW tv shows habit of casting 80s and 90s superheroes as the new heroes parents and mentors
my favorite dc animated film is batman under the red hood.
p.s Jason Todd is my favorite character in dc.
DJ should've won.
Purnell Collins Yup. DJ is my new favorite fighter. Funny and witty as hell.
boring and repetitive
v for vendetta
Good call. Fucking love that film.
VBSN it had to be a superhero movie or I would definitely pick this
VBSN I didn't know that was a DC movie. Obviously the best movie they have done
I could argue that V is as much of a superhero as Batman.
Paul Grant Truth. He is a masked vigilante whose personal events led to the life of being a vigilante.
"let me speak, you'll get your turn". Continues to talk over the other two for the rest of the fight. Also, Dark knight without hesitation.
Dark Knights better than Wonder Woman by a lot
Great fight, good arguments all around, jokes and passion, more like these.
That's a no brainer, The Dark Knight.
What about A History of Violence with Viggo Mortensen its The best DC FILMS EVER ADAPTED
Uhhh, no it's obviously Catwoman. Jk lol
OMG THIS IS AMAZING. THANK YOU, SCREEN JUNKIES
Oh look, a comic book film debate! Finally!
Awesome fight this time!
Great panel and a lot of fun.
Ashley had a couple Wonder Woman mistakes that Dan missed (Come on Dan!). The co-creator of Wonder Woman who helped with the Polygraph was a man, not a woman (referred to as "she"). Also Time Warner owns DC, not Disney and Ashley called Diana a "Disney Princess". I'm disappointed in ALL OF YOU for missing that one...
I'd say get a life
but here I am reading your comment at 2AM
Warner Bros. owns DC, not Time Warner - that is a TV company and ISP
TDK
Batman (1989)
Wonder Woman
Watchmen
Man of Steel
thats my top 5.
batman and robin obviously wins! those batnipples transcend oscars and other awards and arnies ice puns were on point
Peter Osborne EVERYBODY CHILL!!
I really liked this group of fighters. Good one, SJ!
*Superman: The Movie (1978)* for me. It gets the edge over The Dark Knight because it's a better representation of the superhero genre (whereas TDK is more of a crime drama). Both Reeve and Ledger were amazing in their roles, but Reeve played the lead and Ledger was a supporting character. Finally, John Williams' Superman score is one of the greatest of all-time -- forget superhero films, it's a cinematic masterpiece, period.
Great fight/fighters, really knowledgeable and good questions too, this has been awesome well done sj!
The ending of Wonder Woman was kind of just a typical Superhero ending. And Ares was just ok in it. As a character though, she's the best in the DCEU right now. She believes things and will fight for them. We see her change, grow, and make decisions
Huh, i just noticed a weird cut at 27:40. I always dislike it when they do/did it.
that joker figure though.. i want one so bad
Great job in fight #2 DJ. I didn't think you had a chance in that one.
What? Wonder woman is better than Dark Knight? Are these guys serious? I would love to know what these guys are smoking.
Nishant Nayak it's based on the argument
I can’t believe Marc didn’t pick Wonder Woman 😂😂😂
Me upon hearing round 4: "THE LONG HALLOWEEN. THE LONG HALLOWEEN!!!!!!!"
The new intro is awesome! I love it more then the other two!
Even though I'm mostly a Marvel-fanboy, I have to admit that this is probably my favourite episode so far this year :-) All three fighters were really passionate and knowledgeable, would love to see them all return again in the foreseeable future!
Im gonna say it now, before I forget. I loved this episode so much. You picked 3 very amazing, very worthy fighters that brought gusto to their fights, in a fight where no fighter tried to talk over, attack or degrade another fighter to get their point across. Everyone was respectful yet ready to fight
Ashley said that TDK and Winter Soldier are only good superhero sequels. I'm pretty sure that Spiderman 2 is better than Spiderman 1.
Bruno M Spiderman 2 is exactly the same movie X-Men2 is better tho
Bruno M I think she was just using the winter soldier as an example
There are plenty of good superhero movie sequels. In terms of being BETTER than the originals, however:
1) "Spider-Man 2" > "Spider-Man"
2) "The Dark Knight" and "The Dark Knight Rises" > "Batman Begins"
3) "X2: X-Men United" > "X-Men"
4) "The Wolverine" and "Logan" > "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" (not that that's too high of a bar to reach)
5) "X-Men: Days of Future Past" > "X-Men: First Class"
6) "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" and "Captain America: Civil War" > "Captain America: The First Avenger"
Logan > X-men origins
Watch again at 6:07. "*one of* the only second movies to not drop the ball ... Winter soldier being another one". That phrasing does not imply that Winter Soldier is *the* only other one, just that it's one of the few.
"Didn't make it to my country"
Um, as a Canadian, I remember seeing Mask of the Phantasm in theatres up here, and I was in a relatively small town (Fredericton NB) at the time.
A David Lynch directed Arkham Asylum movie would be fucking INSANE!
Man this fight was wholesome good on all of ya!
Also no offense but the lady doesn't know anything about Wonder Woman because she is obviously the most blood thirsty she is a warrior not afraid to kill. She does not have a no killing rule normally like the other two. She doesn't know what she is talking about.
Actually she is right. Horrible New52 version of Wonder Woman is bloodthirsty warrior. Pre-N52 version has no killing rule like the other two.
With zero hesitation? Are you sure about that? Wasn't that her last choice after Maxwell Lord refuse to let his control over Superman when he tied to lasso of thruth? Wasn't whole divide between trinity about her killing Lord at the start of the Infinity Crisis? Wasn't her whole role in Infinity Crisis is to find her way again? Wasn't she the one convinced Bruce it's wrong way when he wants to kill Alexander Luthor at the end?
For N52, If you like Azzrello's run it's okay I understand. But I hate his run and I don't like WW in N52 Justice League either. Haven't read Greg Rucka's Rebirth run yet but as far as I know he completely ignores N52 continuity and as a fan of his former WW run, I trust him for making this decision.
Damian Charleston I was saying the character in general is not afraid to strait up murder someone such as Maxwell Lord. Also Batman does not torture people and he only actually kills people in movies or non-cannon stories.
Luke Jackson That's is how Batman works by.....torture!! He will hurt you for information has and always will. WW just needs her lasso. Will she kill yes but she doesn't live like this Batman is brooding and always calculating on what he can get or use against you.
This was an engaging movie fight episode. One of the best I've seen. Kudos.
"Is it MEME-able?"
This video has made me a fan of this channel for life, great job on the trick question 👍
The Dark Knight
*No Competition*
what an open frame of mind you have!
Illicit Films mask of the Phantasm is definitely competition
Commander Shepard great movie but that's marvel though
Well, ya wrong.
To clarify, you're wrong in saying that there isn't any competition. I love it, but Phantasm is the best in my book. But it's great that there are so many great Batman movies! Great!
Thank you for this amazing fight!
Is it even a question? Ofc The Dark Knight holds the trophy. It is considered to be one of the best movies of all time in cinema history. Don't even argue with me.
teameta Watchmen is definitely up there.Don't even try to deny that XD
It's Amazing Watchmen was good, but nobody seems to remember it.
TheLegend27 Ikr great movie, one of the best super hero movies for sure.
lols wonder women
omg that trick question round!! laughed my ass off!! 😂👆😂
Dark knight. There is no beating that
The Dark Knight isn't just the greatest DC Movie. It's the greatest superhero film of all time, and one of the greatest films of all time. The movie is both a great stand alone film, and a perfect crime thriller that just happens to feature a superhero, not even Avengers can top that.
Is it bad that I've gotten so tired of the actual fighting part I just listen to the set-ups then skip to who won, and maybe on occasion listen to the final arguments? I mean, sometimes I'll watch it, especially when people like Dan, Spencer, or Mike Carlson are on, maybe a few others that I can't remember, but generally I feel like the fights just drag on with people making only occasionally good arguments and then way too many people cutting in with stupid comments ("but can you give me single quotable line from Mask of the Phantasm?" -- like, what??? Can you quote a line from Schindler's List? Quotability doesn't make a movie great, it just means one sentence of dialogue was memorable) Am I the only one that does this?
Tht was a clean, eloquent fight, way to go!
You guys have to bring DJ back :D
32:32
that look on the face! lol.
Worst DC movie is also one of, if not, the worst movies I have ever seen: Catwoman. Absolute garbage!
Big Black Willy I loved steel lol
Thanks guys first time I spend all those time and watch this for more than 10 min. And it's awesome too bad over hour isn't easy to pull
Marc was way over selling wonder woman. It was fine. Not a masterpiece. It was good not great. The way the action was depicted is so dated. Way too much slow-mo and camera cutaways in fight scenes. And I have other minor nitpicks but not any that ruin the movie for me. I'd give it an 80%. But it is in no way comparable to The Dark Knight, Logan, or the last two Captain America films.
Michael Bush nah I enjoyed it more than civil war. Winter soldier, Logan and dark knight were better though.
Adam McCaw I'll give you that. The mcu has it's own issues too.
Michael Bush what do you think of guardians 1 and 2. I think there some of the worst mcu movies. Ahead of only iron man 2, 3, thor 2 and the incredible hulk. Are you someone who loves them or do you not get the hype like me?
Adam McCaw Sorry I actually like the Guardians movies but the 2nd one wasn't as good. I go into mcu movies just expecting them to be fun or okay and that's what I get from guardians.
Michael Bush alright far enough.
Wow. The arguments are really good today.
Superman is less blood thirsty than Wonder Woman. He does not kill. He wants to bring the best out of other people.
Love these fighters, favourite line up and great debates
the first fight really felt like, everyone wanted to choose TDK but has to be different so chose WW and MOTP but honestly wonder woman? that was just an enjoyable regular superhero film, had some weak points like the villain and some story execution at some point...watchmen would be a way better movie to argue with TDK than wonder woman...
dont get me wrong, WW is really good...but isnt very amazing or very great...i personally loved the film and for me its on par with the first captain america movie...
As a huge DC fan, this was easily my favorite movie fights yet!
"Wonder Woman can be shown to everyone and everyone will be satisfied, but Dark Knight has some rough spots in it"
Dude... the Dark Knight is a damn near perfect movie and Wonder Woman was a flop in my eyes. The only reason Wonder Woman is getting praised by everyone is because it was not as shit as every other DCEU movie! While it may be better than the other DC movies it does not deserve a 94 on RT, it is filled with flaws and is honestly just boring! The constant use of slow motion in action sequences takes you out of the film and her theme does not fit in with what is going on around her at all. The "twist" ending was so stupid and actually made me bust out into laughter! If they honestly took out the last 10 minute light show and ended with Steve's monologue about how the world isn't all good, this movie would've been a lot better imo.
How is Dark Knight perfect no movie is
DAAAAMN -- Watching this after the Spiderman fight...these 3 all brought it, i had a trouble deciding who won in most arguments!!
Marc was overselling the film and, once again, the question was best adaptation, not the ¨best movie experience¨. TDK and Mask of the Phantasm are better films (better written, acting, directing, soundtrack, villain) than Wonder Woman, however WW still it´s pretty good and it´s the best DCEU film yet. I would still argue that TDK is the best of the three because, beside being the best film, it manages to adapt elements of The Killing Joke and The Long Halloween (two of the greatest Batman stories) within a modern world (which is the point of Christopher Nolan´s take of the character).
To me the new Wonder Woman movie is the best DC movie out there!
So what is that three weeks in a row with the trick question? Is Vince Russo booking this show now?
Saw that trick question a mile off! I definitely would have picked my favourite DC movie when asked that XD
Batman: Mask of the Phantasm. End of discussion.
Wonder Woman is an enjoyable flick but doesn't hold a candle to the Dark Knight.
Of all movie Batmans, which one would win in a fight? Lego Batman
I've never thought I'd find an all DC Movie Fight so enjoyable but you all were awesome. Guess the WW movie made me make peace with DC again.
Why did no one say Catwoman was the worst DC movie?
Walter u. Does it count like yeah it's based off DC's cat woman but there's like no DC references?
Here is a question, what would you're after credits scene be for the 4th avengers
The dark night is a fucking masterpiece
I'm so happy I wasn't the only one who wants to see a live-adaptation of the whole Red Hood story, it's such a deep storyline filled with a lot of conflict that it would could be a great movie. Also personally I'd like to see someone give Zatanna or Dr. Fate some love because we haven't really seen anything as far as the mystical side of DC and feel like the DCEU could do so much with that concept much like Marvel did with Dr. Strange. Oh and a liveaction Nightwing/Original Teen Titans movie could be cool or a Justice League vs The Reach movie as well (side note: I would have totally said Hal Jordan's Green Lantern for the Stuck in an Elevator question :) )
C'mon Screen Junkies you are overusing the trick question
I fucking loved wonder woman and I am so hype for the sequel. That being said The Dark Knight is in a league of its own. Best superhero movie of all time, and just one of the best movies in general of all time.
Ashley is killing this ep for me 😒
Should have had her husband instead Jason
Respectfully, I disagree. I don't even like her but she was a worthy competitor for this topic and she didn't stretch arguments more than the other two.
so glad they didn't have any spoilers for wonder woman. great fight! andreyko is always awesome
Question 1. DC experts my ass.
no mention of Batman Begins, just more Dark knight Dark Knight Dark Knight Dark Knight Dark Knight Dark Knight Dark Knight.
It's really refreshing to look at the comments section of this episode and see people stating their answers on the episode's questions, instead of seeing people bitching about a particular fighter. :)
