I just wanted to say how refreshing I find it that you can manage to showcase your kids but do it in a way that is respectful of them and whatever their futures hold.
Great job Abigail! You are a natural teacher, just like your Mom. I'm so proud of you for learning about a new homestead animal, acquiring them, and being responsible for milking them and making products for your family to enjoy. And sharing your skills with us. Thank you!
I adore that your daughter is out there in the herb garden barefoot, picking fresh herbs for her homemade Chev. This is exactly how I would’ve LOVED my childhood. So sweet ❤️
It's been a pleasure following your channel. I'm looking forward to start putting so many of your videos in practice, your homestead being a lovely example. However, Abigail inspired me to try to make cheese now! So I did, and it is delicious! Thank you, dear!
Goodness, this young woman didn’t need the adult supervision or intervention at all.. she’s marvellous and a total natural in front of the camera. You go girl! ❤
I’m going to try this with some local organic A2 minimally processed milk. Id rather goat, but i think I want the cleanest I can find. This looks so yummy and easy!
Instead of using the paper filter, I use a reusable coffee filter. It can be sanitized between uses and you are not having to continually buy new filters. It fits right in the top of a gallon jar. For a half gallon jar I use a funnel to set on the jar and then the coffee filter sits in that. Good job making the cheese. !!!
I hope don't mind an old lady following your goat adventures. My son and me are looking to move to MO where we are considering some pygmy goats. I am very interested in learning all that I can do with goat milk.
Abigail, you are a terrific presenter. A confident and knowledgeable instruction. Thank you. I am just starting learning about cheese making and am inspired by you.
Love this video! We have Kinder goats, which are a pygmy/nubian cross and we just adore them. So friendly, great tasting milk, and a nice volume of milk too. I was so excited to hear you guys got goats! 😄
Thank you for taking the time to comment! I appreciate your knowledge here regarding Queso Fresca Cheese as it is my favorite! I am still a newbie when it comes to making cheese! I am inspired to use cows milk instead!
Phenomenal content. I'm married to a farmer and we live on a Large farm in South Australia... with broadacre farming and raising many merino sheep.... I'm hoping to get goats to milk..... soon... after being married for 27+ years. I'm QUITE INSPIRED. God bless. From your Vermont sister living in rural South Australia 🇺🇸🇦🇺
Great to see Abby realize the fruits of her labor and share them with us. Josh and Carolyn, thanks for raising such dynamic, smart and hard working young lady who is contributing to our world.
Abigail what a wonderful tutorial, you did a spectacular job! So nice to meet Livin and Isabelle, they are beautiful does. I'm excited to see what other dairy products you make with goat milk.
Very nice to see that such a young girl enjoys working with goats and making cheese. Nice that you show how to do that here. If you have your fence in good order from the start, goats will not break out, just ensure that the power remains on.
I love to see kids doing this! It can motivate other children to take on a project to master too. I can't wait for my littles to be able to do this. I have one helping me a little bit at the Farmers market selling her own stuff.
That’s so nice that, even though you had your own opinions and bad experiences related to goats, your daughter felt enabled to request a chance to make her own mistakes or successes with goats. 👍🏻👏🏻
Abby, you’re doing a great job! Are you going to breed your goats? Does your state have shows? Genetics is thoroughly amazing and I’d love to see more videos on your goats if you do. (Like, when I first saw you and thought you looked like your dad until you smiled 😊 and you have your mother’s beautiful smile). Even if you don’t, I love your recipe for the chèvre and would like to see more recipes. Can you make butter, yogurt, etc.? Show us what you can do with goat’s milk. I love that you aren’t afraid of the camera. You tell us what we need to know clearly and concisely. Great job! 🎉
Abigail did an amazing job going through this process! She should do more videos about her goat care! Very encouraging for those of us who have never dairy goats before! Articulate young lady! Well done!!!
I love Abigail's confidence. She clearly has done her research, and knows what she's doing! Great job. And...I'm about to go into the kitchen to try making this myself. :)
Peace, Love, and Eternal Life! Wow! what a great video! and what a great job Mom and daughter. Especially Abigail!!! so knowledgable and precise with the cheese and I love the way she connects with the universe by going around barefoot! I look forward to many more! Peace!
Thank you so much for sharing these new skills, and experience with having goats. We are hoping to one day do the same, and this has been very inspirational for me, to keep that goal moving forward, and taking steps to get there.
Great job young lady ! My daughter is almost 9 and I'm hoping she will want to have a goat milk project soon. For the time being she's just observing me do all the milking etc.😊
Wonderful! I really enjoy watching the kiddos doing this type of stuff. It sounds like she really did her homework first, before jumping right in. Great job Abigail!
My nubians, kiko, nor lamancha ever get out by means of mischief. I'll never buy Nigerian dwarfs again though. They are tiny escape artists. So glad to see this video. I've made feta and mozzarella, but I've been meaning to try cheve, so now I will do that. I strain my milk into jars in and icechest next to a frozen jug of salt water, the icechest sits in my wheel barrow to make it easy to bring up to the house. We also move the stanchion around in the fields to follow the goats rotating pastures. So sometimes hauling the milk to the house is quite a walk (hence the wheelbarrow).
This video makes me so happy!! We are new to keeping goats and have Nigerian Dwarves. No milking yet but we'll be breeding them soon. I would love to see Abigail take us through the goats setup, the fence and the barn... I love how she explains things!
Love seeing all the cheeses you are able to make on your homestead. It’s so nice to see your young ones involved in the process and enjoying the fruit of the labor. Nice job Abigail! It looks delicious!
Abigail is a great teacher! I love her personality and how she speaks so clearly. I hope she can teach us more about her goats! I l'd love to learn as I'd love to have goats one day too.
I'm glad you mentioned that - I'm about to make this recipe, and I already had plans to make soda bread this week. I would't have thought to use the whey in the bread, but now I will. Thank you!
A wonderful lesson. I am encourage and inspired. But I have to say also, as a mama, that I’m sentimentally teary-eyed watching you lovingly mentor your daughter through this process and video. Her study, experience and confidence are as delightful as the lesson itself. I think I will have my 12yr old watch this video as I’m certain it will inspire her as well. Thank you again, Homesteading Family for leading the way. 😊
I just wanted to say how refreshing I find it that you can manage to showcase your kids but do it in a way that is respectful of them and whatever their futures hold.
Exactly. Nothing embarrassing or funny. Just responsible kids.
Great job Abigail! You are a natural teacher, just like your Mom. I'm so proud of you for learning about a new homestead animal, acquiring them, and being responsible for milking them and making products for your family to enjoy. And sharing your skills with us. Thank you!
Thats a Big Amen!
She has done a fantastic job. Love to see the young ones knowing how to teach us. Thank you
Agree completely!
Train up a child in the way they should go😊 you trained your children well. They know more than most adults on homesteading 😊
I'd expect them to know more. They live in that environment. Those outside that environment have no need for the knowledge.
You two are great together. Thanks for all the hard work and the information on making delicious cheese!
Thank you for sharing! I would really benefit seeing more of your all's milking routines, please!
The ins and outs of owning a dairy goat or cow 🤗
I LOVE seeing the kids putting what they've learned into action. You're AMAZING Parents! God bless yall! ❤
I adore that your daughter is out there in the herb garden barefoot, picking fresh herbs for her homemade Chev. This is exactly how I would’ve LOVED my childhood. So sweet ❤️
You don't know how happy this made me to watch this young lady doing all of the homesteading! So well spoken, just like her Mom 🙂
It's been a pleasure following your channel. I'm looking forward to start putting so many of your videos in practice, your homestead being a lovely example. However, Abigail inspired me to try to make cheese now! So I did, and it is delicious! Thank you, dear!
Thanks for watching!
And a video star is born. Well done young lady, such confidence and poise, well done mama
Isn’t she fantastic!! She has inspired me to try and make chèvre too!
You are going to be a great teacher just like mom. Your goats are beautiful
New to your channel. Love that you involve your daughter in the process. She makes a great video.
You are so blessed!!❤
Great video Abigail !!! Would love to see you making more videos, would love to share with my grand-daughter.
Goodness, this young woman didn’t need the adult supervision or intervention at all.. she’s marvellous and a total natural in front of the camera. You go girl! ❤
That's what I kept thinking...she doesn't need Mom's help...she did a fabulous job on her own!
She is a natural!! Love seeing the next generation of Homesteaders

Great to see Abby realize the fruits of her labor and share them with us. Josh and Carolyn, thanks for raising such dynamic, smart and hard working young lady who is contributing to our world.
Your daughter has Josh's eyes and Carolyn's Jaw. Really nice mix of the two of you. Love the lesson in cheese making!

Wow Abigail, you go girl! You are a milking pro, a cheese-making champ, and you are doing so well on camera! Better than I would be on all accounts!
Hello Chris
What a well-spoken, delightful daughter you have!
I enjoy seeing kids teaching homesteading skills. I'm need lactose free dairy. How can I make goat cheese without cow's cream?
That’s so nice that, even though you had your own opinions and bad experiences related to goats, your daughter felt enabled to request a chance to make her own mistakes or successes with goats. 👍🏻👏🏻
Saving this! Good job, ladies!
😁👍
Yay! Thank you!
