This is still my favorite Shepherd's Pie recipe ever - Mr. Easy Vegan if you're reading this I think your videos are some of the best out there and I hope you are well after all of these years.
I hope you guys like this updated version of the Shepherd's Pie. Side-note, the filling by itself is so delicious that I've actually made it and served it with rice or veggies for a quick little dinner. Keep some in the fridge. Great for easy lunches n stuff. Enjoy
Could you subscribe to my channel, I'm a small TH-camr and if you give me a shoutout I might get loads of subs liem you!!! #Vegan btw your vegan parmesan recipe is delicious
Awwww I’m missing the craziness of the last shepherds pie, ie the guy who just wants ‘pie’ but no shepherds lol. Keep it real and keep the craziness please brother.
The website isn't working atm, so for those of you needing the written recipe, here are my notes :) Ingredients 350ml of veggie stock 2 red onions, sliced 4-5 cloves of garlic, minced 2 medium carrots, grated 1 tin brown lentils, drained and washed 1 tin chickpeas, drained and washed 700g of potatoes, peeled and chopped 1 cup of fresh or frozen peas 3tbs tomato puree 2tbs soy sauce 2tsp dried rosemary 2tsp dried thyme 3tbs cornflour 100g of cheese, grated 200ml of milk Method Preheat oven to 220. Put potatoes into a saucepan with hot water and salt. Let boil until fork tender, then strain. Add oil to a frying pan and add carrots, garlic and onions. Sautee for about 3 minutes or unti; it starts to soften up a bit. Remove from heat and add tomato puree, soy sauce, rosemary and thyme. Return to the heat and let sizzle for a minute before removing from the heat. Add the chickpeas, lentils, peas, stock and cornflour to the pan. Return to a medium-high heat and cook until it until no more pools of liquid appear when the bottom of the pan is scraped. In a bowl, combine the cheese, potatoes and half of the milk, seasoning with salt and pepper. Mash with a potato masher. Add more milk if it’s necessary. Place veggie mixture in the baking dish and smooth down flat. Add the mash to the top in clumps, then smooth over. Run a fork over the top to create texture. Put the pie in the oven for 20 minutes. If more crispiness is desired, grill for an additional 5-10 minutes on high heat. Let cool for a bit before serving
Thanks for this!! I've made this pie several times before, but never wrote down the recipe and only now, as I'm about to make it again, noticed that there is no longer any official written recipe
For anyone who wants to know what flashes way too fast to read at 4:08: I ended up making 4 shepherd’s pies to get these last crucial shots looking extra super-tasty. Hi Jules! One thing: the potatoes do not have to be completely covered with water. A small amount of water is enough and then put a lid on the pot. They will cook faster. Save water!
