I don’t mind having a Boston 12 in my rotation if they ever go on sale but until then my pick wood be Speed 4. I tested them and they felt great and bouncy to me. I think they are versatile shoes that as very good for speed sessions.
Bouncy is not everything, sometimes this is a problem and retarding the forward motion as well as fatiguing to the knees and also stability of this bounce is lateral/medial as well as vertical and can also cause issues.
I like them both. The upper on the speed is more comfy for my ankles and i prefer the tongue and lacing. The boston feels best best to me when i get on my toes. The adidas upper is also great when its raining because its not like a sponge and the outsole has the awesome grip. The speed, like you said is a real fun ride. For longer runs with beat up legs id still prefer a superblast. I guess a good rotation keeps it fun anyway. Luv the reviews, mate✌️
Interesting thoughts. I thought about the Boston 12 as a long run shoe but I tried it on at the store and the heel didn't feel very secure. The under foot feel was great. I ended up getting the Superblast. Maybe Adidas will upgrade the upper for v13.
Any word on whether Saucony is going to make a version of the Speed 4 in wide like they did with the 3 last year? This one is noticeably narrow in the forefoot, and I worry about that for any workouts longer than 10-15kms.
I have the Boston 12, I love it for my road running days, from easy days to intervals and tempo sessions. Works well for everything for me.
Thanks for the comment!
Good review as always. The Boston 12 is probably my favorite daily trainer of 2024 - possibly the best ever in its category for my use.
@@OsloVM60-64 thanks for the comment!
Anybody having issues with the Boston 12 laces/heel fit, change to lock laces and you have an absolute beaut

@@karlbratby4349 does Speed 4 cause all those issues?

Same, Superblast has more comfort
I'd also go the Superblast over both of these shoes.
Thanks for the comment
Had to change the laces to lock laces like several people have suggested and it has been *chefs kiss*

Good review, thanks
Speed. For longs or easy runs I use Glideride 3, awesome shoe
Glideride 3 is another great shoe!
Boston 12 very good for long runs and slow run. Also very stable. Speed 3 mushy for me.
This is speed 4
@@Fozzee.1970 I know.. I have wide feet so a non starter.. Stocking up on it Pro 3.

I'm not sure but I went half size up to get some extra width for the same reason. Thanks for the comment!
I dont understand the part about the speed having a more pronounced rocker. For me they look almost identical in the rocker department.
They may look similar but the tilt forward feeling is very different. Far more noticeable in the Speed
It can be to do with how stiff the shoe is and also where the tilt forward starts. Even a few mm can make a difference. Thanks for the comment
Mate, whats your US shoe size?
US 8.5
“Under the balls of the forefoot” 😂
😂😂
Adidas outlets in the US have the Boston for 50% off.
Wow!
Boston
Have both, the Boston 12 does everything better than the speed 4. Loved the speed 2 speed 3 ok but not the 2 the 4 is just meh.
Thanks for the comment!
Speed 1 and 2 are the Master
Speed 1 and 2 are the masters
Can you make examples of what Boston 12 does better?
