so glad someone explained this because i that was my initial theory of what was going on in this “mental hospital” type thing whenever it was originally shown in the trailers, but whenever steven mentioned Taweret when he was working in the first episode i was like… 🌚🌚 reincarnation👀👀
She lost her dad and now she potentially loses the person she's loved the most right after calling out his guilty conscience. Now it's her conscience that is guilty as she is in the exact same spot as Marc and she cannot do anything to save the person whom she realised that she actually cares for. Top tier writing and acting. This episode was just massively heartbreaking.

It’s all in his mind and is another trait of DID called ‘Internal Worlds’ where different alters can interact with each other face to face. It usually also reflects the world around you hence the fish, cupcake, drawing of Khonshu etc. Really cool to see Marvel keep traits of DID whilst integrating it with the psychological thriller elements 😌
@Slawsers Yes, the elements of Steven and Marc communicating with each other out loud through mirrors is very inaccurate, however inner worlds are something different and operate solely within a system's mind. If they don't take this route and do make it into a fantasy-type, I like many others are going to be extremely disappointed with the representation of mental illness and DID

It's a different experience than dissociating and DID, though. People with DID aren't delusional or hallucinating. 🤷♀️ They are heavily dissocating. The symptoms are different enough that DID can be comorbid with bipolar and schizophrenia...you can have/be diagnosed with BOTH because the symptoms are distinct and not the same.

When i was "bipolarly" different, I still remember it because it was me but it...wasn't *me*. It's hard to articulate lmao. I do want to point out that I remember having a second voice in my head back when i had that minor bipolar episode back in those years. Having bipolar and an alternate personality (MPD) is probably a gateway for a full blown DID but I dont think both need to be there for it to happen as well. They are two different disorders after all.
It was such a drastic shift in tone that I had to double check and make sure that I hadn’t accidentally switched to Legion somehow! Definitely threw me for a loop.

However, if we’re saying Marc is a unreliable narrator, this could be real and some elements could be shifting with his perception of reality. I know it’s unlikely, but it would be an interesting way to go.
This ep was def my favorite. For me its up there w/ ep 1. We didn’t even see moon knight but it was still great imo. It was beautifully directed, there were some insane shots, the acting was great, I thought the character moments were all good whether it was between layla & steven, layla & Marc, Marc & Steven and even layla & Arthur. There was also some like genuinely suspenseful, scary and gruesome moments in the tombs which were cool to see. Also love that this ep brought back that mysterious & trippy feel to the series. I mean imo it had everything, the humor worked, the adventure sotryline worked, the subplot about Marc, layla and her dad was interesting, and the ending was just nuts and super trippy. Def my favorite episode so far, up there with ep 1
The whole sequence in the mental asylum is all in his head with clues all nicely put in place from the bingo card, The Fish, the cupcake, Moon Knight action figure and the asylum being white representing who he truly becomes. Now it's time for Marc Spector and Steven Grant to figure out to work together to wake-up. The best part really is seeing Marc meeting Steven face to face and the ending with the hippopotamus looking creating saying hi to both personalities was the craziest cliffhanger ending in this show. I also think we got a hint to the third personality with Jake Lockley in the sarcophagus trying to get out.

Oscar Isaac is a fine actor. He makes this seem like it's not from a comic book at all. It just feels like he's acting from an intense script alone. Good job guy!

Omg what an epic episode this was, loved the darker take they took. What an amazing job they have been doing and they just surprise us more and more. The turn of events is just amazing.
This episode was great. I saw that Asylum scene as a way for Marc and Steven to either reflect on everything that they have dealt with recently or a way for them to come face to face in a sense and deal with their issues to truly work together to stop harrow.
I am SHOOK by that ending sequence. Jesus that was amazing. I loved the hug between the two and I can't wait to see how they team up. This was a great episode, especially with all of the hints towards Jake

It's basically boils down to, are they separate people or parts of one? The Othervoid may consider Mark, Stephen and Jake as separate people.
Also they are in some form of an innerworld...alters often can physically interact and communicate in their innerworld....they are also dying and unconscious from the bullet wounds...but yeah it's probably the shows take on an innerworld situation.

I loved the Fight Club, Indiana Jones, The Mummy, and One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest influences in this episode. Seeing Taweret at the end was awesome. I also loved the nods to the Jeff Lemire and Greg Smallwood's Moon Knight comic run. The visuals in the Psychiatric Ward were marvelous. The horror elements in this episode were also great. The second sarcophagus is another hint at Jake Lockley. Arthur Harrow shooting Marc Spector was cool-blooded. Marc Spector and Steven Grant's interaction in the Psychiatric Ward was an amazing scene.

That was a good point about the suit. Cuz it’s one of those one shows where you could easily be there just for the action but like you said the existential narrative makes you so involved you don’t miss it.
The Goddess Taweret is mentioned by Steven with a "V" in episode 1 when he was talking to Donna about the Ennead and she said to hand her the box of hippos. He corrected her and said the hippos were Taweret.
Honestly one of the best content Marvel has put out there, this whole episode from the acting, filming locations, story to the horror vibe was all awesome, cant wait for next week
The ending was so funny and out of the blue LMAO I actually thought the episode was going to end with Marc opening the second sarcophagus and revealing Jake, but we got something even more obscure 😂
ABSOLUTE MAD LADS DOING THE LEMIRE ALLUSION. Probably one of the biggest risks the MCU has ever taken and I greatly applaud them for it. I’ve been absolutely loving this series so far, I really hope these last two episodes hit the landing
Today's episode of Marvel's Moon Knight had more questions than answers especially with the whole The Mummy meets Indiana Jones Raiders of the Lost Ark meets One flew over a Cuckoo's Nest. Every scene in this episode was a scare effect because anything could happen at any moment with any of the characters. The whole sequence with searching the caves for the Tomb of Alexander the Great brought back to scenes from The Mummy between Rick O' Connor and Evelyn O' Connor. Then the dialogue exchange as to what really happened to Layla's father juxtaposed with the Indiana Jones-Marion Ravewood dynamic trying to seek truth about her dad from Marc Spector.
One of the episodes that didn’t show much moonknight but has to be one of the most important episodes in the series the ending had me with my jaw on the ground

Just finished it myself, about to watch this reaction but I really enjoyed this episode. May be my favorite one so far. Had me on the edge of my seat. I love history so seeing where Alexander has been all this time was fun. That ending though, so good and cant wait for next week.
This episode especially after he got shot.. reminds me so much of LOST. Not only the clues to reality but the musical tones. My favorite so far. Also.. the clues to reality could be false. I actually LOVED the last few minutes. Really questioning what's real and what isn't. I want to find more movies and stuff like that and I love the fact that it could all be in his head and he's really just insane, even if he isn't, it's cool and fun to think about. I loved it.
We did see an ancient Egyptian boat in one of the teaser trailers for the show, so it makes sense as to why the hospital or rehabilitation center is rocking. Regardless of if that’s true, the concept is really cool and I’m excited to see what they do next.
In the first episode, Steven described the egyptian "purgatory" to a girl at the museum, maybe it was a hint to where all of them right now. If I'm not mistaken, Steven said something about a hippo god when talking about purgatory then and the hippo in the ending sounded a lot like a little girl, maybe it's not a coincidence.
i feel like once khonshu gets brought back then there will be much more scenes with the moon knight suit because there are still so many shots of moon knight from the trailers that we havent seen yet and it would make sense if they are just saving the big fights for the last two episodes

Oscar Isaac is a fine actor. He makes this seem like it's not from a comic book at all. It just feels like he's acting from an intense script alone. Good job guy!

I think it was just a reference to the line about ammits statue that Steven says in this episode a few minutes prior...we won! That entire hospital sequence was just full of references to stuff we saw and heard previously in the show. 🤷♀️

This episode was great. I saw that Asylum scene as a way for Marc and Steven to either reflect on everything that they have dealt with recently or a way for them to come face to face in a sense and deal with their issues to truly work together to stop harrow.

I felt all sorts of emotions in this episode. Excited, scared, delighted (kiss), horrified, laughed (self punch), confused, etc. It's simply nuts!
'Why are Mark and Steven both there?' That boils town to the question of what you consider a person to be. It's like a melting iceberg, when chucks fall off are they new icebergs? It's basically boils down to, are they separate people or parts of one? The Othervoid may consider Mark, Stephen and Jake as separate people.

The psych ward scene was incredible I totally didn't see it coming!
I loved the Fight Club, Indiana Jones, The Mummy, and One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest influences in this episode. Seeing Taweret at the end was awesome. I also loved the nods to the Jeff Lemire and Greg Smallwood's Moon Knight comic run. The visuals in the Psychiatric Ward were marvelous. The horror elements in this episode were also great. The second sarcophagus is another hint at Jake Lockley. Arthur Harrow shooting Marc Spector was cool-blooded. Marc Spector and Steven Grant's interaction in the Psychiatric Ward was an amazing scene.
The ending is reminding me of Legion S1E6 and I'm loving it!

That was a good point about the suit. Cuz it’s one of those one shows where you could easily be there just for the action but like you said the existential narrative makes you so involved you don’t miss it.
The Goddess Taweret is mentioned by Steven with a "V" in episode 1 when he was talking to Donna about the Ennead and she said to hand her the box of hippos. He corrected her and said the hippos were Taweret.
Honestly one of the best content Marvel has put out there, this whole episode from the acting, filming locations, story to the horror vibe was all awesome, cant wait for next week
The ending was so funny and out of the blue LMAO I actually thought the episode was going to end with Marc opening the second sarcophagus and revealing Jake, but we got something even more obscure 😂

Today's episode of Marvel's Moon Knight had more questions than answers especially with the whole The Mummy meets Indiana Jones Raiders of the Lost Ark meets One flew over a Cuckoo's Nest. Every scene in this episode was a scare effect because anything could happen at any moment with any of the characters. The whole sequence with searching the caves for the Tomb of Alexander the Great brought back to scenes from The Mummy between Rick O' Connor and Evelyn O' Connor. Then the dialogue exchange as to what really happened to Layla's father juxtaposed with the Indiana Jones-Marion Ravewood dynamic trying to seek truth about her dad from Marc Spector.

Just finished it myself, about to watch this reaction but I really enjoyed this episode. May be my favorite one so far. Had me on the edge of my seat. I love history so seeing where Alexander has been all this time was fun. That ending though, so good and cant wait for next week.

We did see an ancient Egyptian boat in one of the teaser trailers for the show, so it makes sense as to why the hospital or rehabilitation center is rocking. Regardless of if that’s true, the concept is really cool and I’m excited to see what they do next.
In the first episode, Steven described the egyptian "purgatory" to a girl at the museum, maybe it was a hint to where all of them right now. If I'm not mistaken, Steven said something about a hippo god when talking about purgatory then and the hippo in the ending sounded a lot like a little girl, maybe it's not a coincidence.
Holy fuck, they went there! Both Oscar Isaac & May Calamawy were fantastic. Benson & Moorhead are going to have a blast directing Loki S2!
