I do agree that it’s cool to get more lore and fleshing out but I think they did it the wrong way. The nerfed how strong they were described in on of the games. Guilty spark notes how Chief is wearing a level 2 combat suit and should have a level 12 during an outbreak which just tells you how much of a gap there is between the two races technology. Instead the promethians are as strong as normal enemies and they should be way tougher considering the sentinels are basically the forunners rumbas and look at how crazy they were in Halo Wars 2
@@SmileBullet ye, but Halo was in development pre-2001 originally meant to be released on Mac in 2000. The game started development in 1997, and because Bungie has Joseph Staten, it wouldn't be a surprise if he was friends with Eric Nylund and they probably outlined most of the story.
The fact that Faber sobered up aka humbled himself at the end of his life aka full circle character development into even trying stay on omega halo and help the humans as much as he could prior to committing suicide by staying on the ring to fire it directionally at Path Kethona Galaxy when he could’ve just ran away, shows that he truly did regain his humanity as a Forerunner even if it was for a little while. It goes to show how a little bit of humility can go a long way. Faber of Will and Might, The Master Builder.
A tragic end to a tragic character. I always seemed to find myself being curious about and intrigued by Fabar more than all of the other Forerunners. More-so than the Iso, Ur Didact and the Librarian... He reminds me of J. R. Oppenheimer.. "Now I am become death, the destroyer of worlds".
Htoo Doh He's a Master Builder. The leader of his rate. What did he do to get there, how did he attain that position. Why was he so ruthless in the beginning? What was he going through when he fired the rings? I'd imagine he felt like Oppenheimer when he witnessed the birth of his creation, the Atom bomb, capable of ending humanity. Fabar was practically doing the exact same thing with firing the rings. Both creators of doomsday weapons. I can't answer your question directly, I'm asking questions beyond the scope of the overall Halo narrative and what is necessary in terms of driving the plot forward. It's something I do when I'm creating characters too. You give them a personality, then you say; how would my character act in such and such way, what has happened to him to be the way he is, why would he do this or avoid that, what drives him? What are his vices, what's his moral compass, his political opinions, philosophy, religion, has the past eschewed in any way from his development as a character or is it the very reason he acts the way he does? You could say I could ask the same of the other characters, but none of them have created the very namesake of the saga we follow. "Halo". My imagination is on overdrive lol. Apologies for the incoherent answer. I went full scatter brain for a sec. I could write entire biographies for fictional characters. Even with no bearing with the lore. :P
To my mind, he was panicking. A lot, and desperate at times. Certainly egotistical often. He's a main character in this little work of mine: www.fanfiction.net/s/11580757/1/HALO-Begging-After-Knowledge (part 1)
Thanks Experia you've shed so much light on the lore of halo. I never realized how much story there was outside of the canon halo games. adds a whole other level. keep on keepin on buddy.
Mario Badia yes but Faber excruciatingly tortured thousands of humans trying to remove their souls and leaving most dead or with something incredibly wrong with them for the rest of their lives. So I think faber committed a worse crime than Vader
By the way, I believe the Didact was only tortured for like a year or two by the Gravemind, not a decade. Only about 7 years passed from the fall of the Capital to the Halos firing anyway.
I like how he changed from start to the end. Even though cruel he had great character development and is a fine example how power corrupts. He's probably my favorite Forerunner. And the reason we got Halo in the first place. Great video man!
I'm currently listening to the primordium audiobook of the forerunner trilogy using your audible trial link. So glad that I understood almost everything in the video. Keep up the ICONIC lore videos m8!
Having read Silentium, I actually felt pretty bad for him. He redeemed himself in the end, and is an iconic and pivotal character in the history of the Halo Universe.
Faber : "Humans are immune againts the flood" *put on make up* Faber : "Maybe if i do experiment on human with medicant bias i could find the cure" *Put on the the secon layer* Faber : "So that's a trap, humans are not immune, and medicant bias get hacked, but maybe Shan'Shyuum know the real "cure" " *Put on the wig* Faber : "Why i can't find the cure for flood anywhere ?" *Clown*
Man, thats deep, Im glad you finally made a video on this, you have mentioned him so many times in your previous videos and I didnt really get him at frist, but thanks for clearing it up :)
This made me cry, it just shows that some who commit atrocious things towards innocent people see the error of their ways and try to redeem themselves, even if it means at the cost of their lives

Video on ancient humans and forerunner navies and craft. Question for Xperia: What kind of Halo ship would you command, and what would you call it. Going further, what would your ideal Halo navy be? Any ships, hell, take flood ships if you want.
I'd have a ship like one of the original humans ships like we see in the h4 terminals and call it The Wisdom Glory. My ideal navy would have covenant ships and other races ships
HiddenXperia, I have a question. A few months ago, you said Cortana was infected by the Logic Plague by the Gravemind. And we do know that the Gravemind was COMPLETELY destroyed by the Banished on the lesser Ark. So, who's controlling Cortana?
The Romuluan Hunter the logic plague is like a normal flood infection. Once the form is destroyed your still infected and mad. Take the didact who after a 100,000 years and his gravemind was destroyed was still mad and infected
Still unproven, but it's a very plausible hypothesis. Cortana may not realise she has such infection if so, it being disguised by her apparent rampancy, and her possible obsession with recapturing the Chief...

Hi Xperia. A few weeks ago you sent out a poll about whether you should do a q&a about yourself. From what I remember it was more in the favour you do a q&a video. I'm just wondering will you do that video?
I would really like to see the logic plague in action... or evidence of character's descent into madness... perhaps a scene of Cortana or Bias... Something like how we saw Keyes slowly merge with the proto-gravemind.
Ghibalb was destroyed, yes. Instead, the plan was to restart the Forerunners outside of the galaxy. Halo Fractures implies they intend to spread themselves thin so they eventually die out peacefully, but the mystery of Bastion (in Halo 5 Intel) may put the lie to that.
The prediction of the precursors was shown in halo legends showing that humanity will unite the galaxy and fight the flood when cortana says " though they had ben drown in each others own blood and will stumble together into peace" meaning we will se the galaxy fighting the flood in halo 7 and that we will see a new enemy when cortana says " there are secrets better left undisturbed and that he may see a new threat with a galactic war in halo 7 after cortana and the created are defeated

his story was in line with the movies.
Master Builder to Master Destroyer and then back to the redemption arc of being the Master Builder again.
You caught that too, huh.
