Without Digsite Team, without paying people making playable content, without continuing support for Halo The Master Chief Collection: Halo Studios will never be able to do enough good to win me over without righting this wrong.
I’m pretty sure they aren’t in their legal right. Maybe TH-cam’s term services but this was published in a paper and put out in a hard copy. They couldn’t sue that company for stealing intellectual property or anything like that. It doesn’t matter if they intended it to be leaked. This information leaked about people all the time that wasn’t intended to be, and you can still talk about it and publish it. I don’t think if something is leaked that you legally can’t talk about it without being prosecuted and if you can’t be prosecuted for it, then they aren’t in their legal right. That’s just listening to a corporation, which is fine if that TH-cam’s rules and as long as they’re applying that fairly.
How is Microsoft the richest but also most broke-ass, stingy company ever? They'll blow a casual $69 billion for Activision/Blizzard. But decent pay for the Digsite team or a couple Halo Encyclopaedias for the Sins of the Prophets devs? Nah.
Eh, Nintendo is probably the worst about it as they would never have allowed this kind of thing in the first place. To claim the finish product isn't a flawless masterpiece is basically asking to get fired in their eyes. Nintendo rarely lets fans even get away sharing things they found in the files of their games. Microsoft doesn't even stop people from sharing copies of the old Gearbox Halo CE game. Nearly everyone using it and basically everyone who made a video of the original cursed halo used pirated copies. I'll give them some respect for letting fans do that sort of thing at the least.
They are a villain. They have been trying to ruin halo since they got their hands on bungie (bungie pushed back on everything microsoft tried to do). They don't know how to run gaming, they are so out of touch.
@@megaman37456 if you read the first comment is says "since they got their hands on Bungie" referring that Microsoft had already taken over and ruined Halo. I understand back in the day Bungie called the shots which is why we had good games.
I pray that one day halo gets some respectful treatment like doom got with 2016. Like seriously can we just get some content? Some quality stuff that pleases everyone?
Don't worry, we also started the new branding by announcing giving up on the new engine we spent 8 years making. I mean now that we use UE5, those contractors no longer have an excuse that they don't know how to do things. What you thought we were gonna hire actual employees? No, of course not, that'd require us caring.
The "suits", who decide things, are unable to understand the value of a fan and their love. To them, if you are hired because you have the abilities, you are "professional". Take a fan with the exact same skills but is not hired... still "just" a fan, and thus unacceptable in the eyes of the "suits".
Yeah I know and agree with that general stance however IF they could let this slide and also issue said take downs via actual stealing WITHOUT making it near forfeit in court I bet they would, problem is that isn't how the law works. If they're able to let non sanctioned community stuff thrive when it's not in bad faith while also hammering down on stealing then I don't see a world this isn't going to happen, now I could be wrong here as yeah it does seem like many of the real high level people are quite out of touch.
@@HyperShadow991I am sure they understand pouring more money into a decade old failure of a collection is not wise when looking to make big profits. You guys are not that bright.
@punishedvenomsnake716 It's just more state regulation that restricts competition. If we want to get really real for a moment, we can just look at pharmaceutical companies and the FDA within the USA. I swear the FDA has to be one of the most corrupt organizations within this country and hardly anyone talks about it, like they literally outright BAN the importation of insulin from other countries and also make it so only a select few companies are even allowed to produce it... just one small specific example of so many, but there is quite literally no logical reason for either of these beyond creating an artificial monopoly on the drug.
@@punishedvenomsnake716 It also forces the big guys to innovate, meaning you don't have what we have right now where companies are too scared to take risks because they have absolutely no monetary incentive to do so. Just release the same thing over and over again and still make a profit because you're the only one allowed to make that thing.
Without Digsite Team, without paying people making playable content, without continuing support for Halo The Master Chief Collection: Halo Studios will never be able to do enough good to win me over without righting this wrong.
@VRHyoumaru it's exactly the "thrust" of the issue. If your doing volunteer work and they impose deadlines and quality expectations, then they need to pay for that "service". Yet I'm sure digsite would've been just fine still not getting paid if they'd just received some studio manpower as well. Instead they got told "nah" just like the impassioned fan who wrote a heartfelt letter and took the time to write out a plan for free advertising with the doomXchief episode and the disrespect Microsoft continually displays shows they don't get a shit about the fans or the franchise and only want our cash without earning it
I'll laugh like crazy if it comes out that someone from Halo Studios is actually behind the 90GB leak, it would utterly destroy any justification that Microsoft and others would have for not working with modders because _it wouldn't have been the modders who leaked it but possible internal sabotage._
This just confirms to me that the whole digsite program was exploitative. They brought on all those passionate fans and used them to do work they didnt want to pay for, and its simple as. No self respecting ceo with integrity and empathy would do this, but ms doesnt have any of that. Legal rights are not the same as moral rights. I literally didnt even know this was all fan projects until after the controversies. That tells you how little respect and credit they gave the team. Unacceptable.
Oh and the forge stuff, lol, should have finished the video. Yep. Absolutely explicitly exploitation. Reminds me of the community surveys and bringing TH-camrs and pros to interviews and help, which ended up practically resulting in no impact on 343. I know it's not identical, there may have been some level of compensation, some may have been payed for travel. I can't confirm. But I'll bet not. 3 343/m$ has also had a long history of using rhetoric and promises and hype trains to get fans excited and preordering and the like, only to usually pull out the rug, deliver bare minimum if anything at all, often entirely just changing their mind or coming back with an excuse. And then there's the microtransactions. And the actual employees being exploited with crunch, outsourcing to get away with less pay and shorter contracts, etc. Do you need any more evidence you shouldn't buy another official halo game? I'll be focused on preexisting games i already own, and fan games like installation 01.
God if you want to bring your full wrath down on Microsoft I'm all for that. But your will be done. People are way to greedy now a days no won knows how to have fun anymore.
The whole Kinect debacle told me everything I needed to know about them. Namely that all those in higher positions are not gamers, dont know REAL gamers (only their kids or wife or whatever playing mobile crap) and were so stupid they reefused to listen to the majority of Xbox users when we told them to drop the Kinect and allow us to buy the console without it. Also didn't help with the always online requirement for no good reason.
"somebody could reverse engineer the code!" That would honestly be the best thing to happen to Halo since Bungie left.. Just imagine it, somebody making an actual good Halo game again.. with the lifeblood of the original. Only makes sense Microsoft to nip that in the bud before it had a chance to grow, they would never be able to recover.
They were reverse engineer, the Mario 64 code, and oh boy hasn’t been a godsend for the people making hacks for that game because now they can just straight up make original content now. Currently the team is working on reverse engineering the ocarina of time code.
@@SpottedHares Pretty sure the ocarina of time code has already been reverse engineered, which is why Ship of Harkinian exists. Same with Majora's Mask.
Halo is just in an unfortunate place. I’m just thankful that DOOM is still as successful as ever. (Except the Mick Gordon fiasco which I will never forgive Marty Stratton for)
Is Even sadder once you remember that Halo was once the Top, the Quality Standar on it's Time, the Pridefull Face of Xbox And gaming in General. Of course, It has it's Flaws, but Even with It you could FEEL the Pasion the People behind It Put in the Games (like ODST, Reach And 3)
Why am I not surprised that Microsoft would take the "we're paying you in exposure!" route for this kind of stuff? Cheapskates. And they always pull a shocked pikachu face when people don't want to do it. Bethesda found that out the hard way with their creation club and how badly it treated modders.
and im sorry, right, but they'll self destruct halo by not paying Digsite but then hire ... ehem .. cheap labour and ruin another Windows feature no problem. what the f is their deal?
It really does seem like they’ve been out of touch with their fans for a while now. Sometimes, their actions come across as dismissive, or even hostile, towards the community. Internal politics and jealousy could definitely play a role, especially when you see how well teams like Digsite handle their assignments compared to the struggles of the 343/Halo studios. Imagine what the 343/Halo studios would have done doing what Digsite was set out to do? Yep, I know you get what i mean. Lmao.
343i claiming what the Digsite Team achieved as "not real work" is actually hilarious. Considering that 343i inherited an already well established IP with assets, lore and the blueprint all there. Which they then ruined and continue to ruin. The ego of the people at 343i is just, I mean, wow!
"Not real work", meanwhile in the 6 years of developing Halo Infinite. A huge chunk of the code was written by contractors, and not 343. Sabotaging further development. And the game STILL released devoid of content. (Yeah, a lot of the game was cut midway through development. Same thing happened to Bungie Games. Boo hoo. Skill issue. Still 343's fault.)
@@chipsdubbo4861 Well why do you think HS announced using UE5 along side their new name change? It's them blatantly telling us they plan to use even MORE contractors on the next project. Hey everyone off the street knows Unreal Engine, so now we don't even need to train the contractors, just tell them to get straight to work. Nothing has changed. They're still the same people as before.
Digsite was also given basically complete assets from the Bungie era that they had to make work in retail engines, so it's not much different, is it? 😂
It's 343 in all but name so the toxic baggage from that company has been carried over. Nothing has changed whatsoever. Still the same exact studio no one likes even by mainstream audiences despite fanboys telling us we're wrong
well, RIP Halo for me tbh, if they are doing this to people that cares about Halo, whatever they do "officially" would be done just to get money from people and not for caring about the game and the saga.
@@DaBlaccGhost Well, yes, I know there are always people saying "Halo is dead," but to be honest, I'm just tired of it. I've been hoping for good things from Halo, and during the 343 era, the only game I didn't buy was Halo 5, only just because it's a console exclusive. I'm more of a lore guy when it comes to Halo, but 343 has messed up the story. They don't seem to have a clear idea of what to do with it, and they just keep creating cliffhangers, adding and killing characters in books or comics. Recently, it's just been one piece of bad news after another: a failed live-action series, canceled projects that sounded promising, key employees being fired during game development, and so on. Sadly, 343 isn't entirely at fault here. I think Microsoft bears most of the blame. It has turned into a woke, greedy company, making poor decisions across the board, not just in gaming. Just look at Windows 11 and how bad it is, or what they've done with the Office tools. It feels like Microsoft hardly cares anymore. Unfortunately, this situation won't change anytime soon unless people start pressuring Microsoft. Not just from the gaming side, but from other areas too.
@@DaBlaccGhost I haven't had an Xbox since 2017, I believe. It's been a long time. Only time I'm on is for the 360 which was taken offline and luckily it's mostly for single player games.
Yeah, legal and moral are not the same. The video said it, they were in their legal rights to do this, but it still was an absolutely morally horrendous move.
Can we stop pretending that just because something is legal doesnt mean its morally right? Just because its legal for Microsoft to fuck over people with Copyright claims and what not doesnt make it right.
The hack probably started when an employee unknowingly clicked on a malicious email and that let the hackers gain access to Halo Studios private servers, which is what happened to Naughty Dog in 2020…
Honestly, what is microsofts thought process here? The last game weve gotten for this franchise was almost 4 years ago, they have not added 4 years worth of content into infinite to justify that, which leads to the community being so desperate for content that we resort to mods and leaks. These leaks arent even for anything new. These are leaks for 18 year old games
Infinite flopped so ofc they abandoned future development, same thing they did with mcc. They realized they can’t make a good game so now they are remaking halo ce lol, so lame.
Gotta love how much of a death grip Microsoft has on Halos throat. Just waiting for the game to die off. Edit:So basically if the upper management and Microsoft are basically the same people “we’re screwed man! We’re screwed!”
I'm beginning to wonder if these companies want to kill off larger and older IPs on purpose. I'd imagine that they want to make the next fully-online Fortnite-type game that they can fill with microtransactions and sell to a larger audience and that can only work if no one wants to play new games based on old IPs like Halo, Dragon Age, SimCity, Wing Commander, Command & Conquer, StarCraft, WarCraft RTS, Splinter Cell, Assassin's Creed, etc.
They could have even gone the route of it being a kid that loves both Doom and Halo making up some fantasy scenario. Do whatever it was they were gonna do, and at the end just have it shown that it was a kid playing with his Halo and Doom toys. They could have product placed literally every Halo toy AND all the Doom figures that you collect in Doom2016.

@@BrandonsUsername Damn dude! You nailed it, that would of been a fkn home run!
Old School Halo: excitement for release, begging your parents to buy the game, having land parties, jumping with joy when Halo 2 came to Xbox live, so you and your friends can play more often. enjoying when you leveled up, then gamers rage when you dropped the level. But making a determination to level back up. A true masterpiece of a game. A game that brought a community together. It created one of the strongest community of gamers with dedication and dreams of the future of Halo. The future looked to be bright and festive to the community of large Currently Halo: when was the last time I played? More mandatory DLC updates? How many bugs does this update have? Do any of my friends play Halo anymore? What happened to the classic characters and weapons? Where is the flood? Is this a new gaming franchise with Halo slapped on it? A true apocalyptic scenario comes to life. A truly strong and powerful community of games and gamers collapses into a fractured society of those who still believe and those who have given up. The future looks dark and cloudy, for the hidden tales talks about leadership being infiltrated by those who wish to bring destruction, devastation and sorrow eventually leading to the full collapse, and Halo to be forgotten by time itself
That's What Happends when you Hire People that OPENLY hates Halo And Gaming in General, Instead of People as Skilled as the First, but with actual Hoy And Love For the Franchise, And of course, they can't Hire fans because we are just "fans" And not Qualified People, when they could just Instruct us For the Job.
“When was the last time I played” That hit me hard… Months… And I haven’t played Infinite since like 6 months after launch I think (New Alexandria plays in my head) … Got a co worker to play the story with me on MCC but a couple hours like twice a month it’s been a month now.
I work for a MS branch(Not video game related) and let me tell you, Microsoft is literally so massive that there are literally departments that go unchecked and yet get paid for practically little to no work. I'm guessing the digsite team just got shafted by middle management who found someone offshore who got paid far less that does the same job.
@@havok93 Middle managers come in two flavors 1: Psychopath, intelligent can do the job but likes to torment others and can do so legally in that position or 2: Complete loser no hoper who knows nothing and has zero skills or talent, got job through nepotism.
If you wanna immediately label yourself the villain to me, just send the legendary all-round good dude Marty O’Donnell a cease and desist. That’s like saying Michael Jordan isn’t allowed to attend basketball games or Wayne Gretzky isn’t allowed to attend hockey games. Marty is one of the reasons (a significant cog in the machine) Microsoft had such a massive grip on the gaming industry from the 2000’s onward. Insane.
To be fair, Marty did get fired from Bungee for having a tantrum on Twitter about his copyright rather than doing it through the proper legal channels. I won't say he's a flawless person, that was a really bad look to basically slander the company in the public eye rather than demand his employers compensate him or legal action. Honestly I'm still not even certain he had a legal standing on it. He complained they used his music for Destiny in a trailer for Destiny. I don't believe we ever heard what happened in the end, but he did get fired.
Everyday, the Gwimbly episode of Smiling Friends becomes more and more relevant with how Microsoft treats Halo and their other IPs and studios they bought out
Man, this whole situation has really killed any faith I had in the "new" studio, and for the future of this series. Microsoft owns what could potentially be one of the greatest IPs on the planet, and every time they do something with it, they manage to fuck things up. I'm sure there are some talented and passionate devs still at Halo Studios, but with such horrible leadership, there's nothing they can do to make this series good again. Legit the only way I can see Halo getting good again is if MS sold the series off to another company that actually treats this series with the respect it deserves, but that'll never happen.
Feels bad man. The juxtaposition between the Halo Studios/Microsoft team we have now and the Bungie trilogy era could not be more pronounced. Modders, forgers, fans new and old are marginalized by Halo now. It's unrecognizable. Literally the only good thing about the universe is the books now. I have played infinite probably 3 hours in the last 18 months. Thank God for PC having Space Marine 2, Helldivers 2, and GoWR. Games made by studios that care about their IP and more importantly, the fans that keep them in business.
Digsite: Produce Halo content that people actually like and want, want to do more. 343/Halo Studios: "You're not real developers" Also 343/Halo Studios: Seemingly incapable of making good Halo content. Take credit for other people's work (again). Yeah, that's some green, mean jealousy right there. I know Digsite didn't make the content from scratch, but I believe they have a better understanding of what Halo is, and could probably make some really nice expansion type stuff if they were given resources. I'd be more excited for that than any new "corporate" Halo.

Digsite back in the late 90's early 2000's would of been like Sunstorm, making awesome expansions for popular games that might even be better than official OG devs/studio made expansions.
Man, I feel like if Microsoft wasn't the head of xbox and Halo, the xbox Gaming community and Halo community would flourish as well as gaming as a whole.
@devotedhalo I also can't say I'm surprised that M$ is doing this because they're notorious for it as well, with Windows for the past 30 or so years. If only the fans had the IP. 🙏
The only way I can think to make it funnier would have been if the scene transition was Gandalf animorphing into hiddenXperia. Or the carriage turning into him
If people could stop doing things for free for 343/Halo Studios/Microsoft, that would be great Don’t give them a leg to stand on when they don’t care about you
The biggest sin is Microsoft bringing them in just to not give them all the official tools that they need to succeed and then saying that their work isn’t quality enough to see any sort of change to the arrangement.
If I'm not mistaken, the only things they DIDNT have access to was the games original engine / code. So they can't change behaviours of ai logic, or physics or anything of that nature. They do however have a lot of old assets, design documents, and other software that bungie used to build the campaign levels and multiplayer maps. Right now, if you had dedicated time, and skills, you can make an entire campaign on the same level as bungie (you can't add new mechanics only using existing ones), you are technically able to add custom vehicles, sounds, models, textures, shaders, maps, weapons, animations etc. Its just that no one ever did this because of the time it would take. But the work flow is there. Although bungie didn't use blender, blender can be used as a replacement for 3D studio max and/ or Maya. That is to say, digsite did have the tools necessary to recreate for the most part, cut content but could not bring back features scrapped from the game engine itself. So no matter how hard they wanted to, they could not implement stencil shadows into halo 2, like it was originally planned to have. But they could make the cut earth ark missions to professional standards, they just never could because they aren't getting paid, and that would take them months of dedicated work.
@ That’s not necessarily true about the limits of regular modding. The digsite team just self imposed rules on themselves to be vanilla+ so it could fit into the sandbox from the base game and then finally based on the documentation bungie left behind. What I’m referring to are tools that HiddenXperia mentioned in the video that 343/Halo Studios had to work with the engine better nowadays but didn’t trust them and withheld back from them.
@ Thanks for clarifying, as for the tools used in-house by Halo Studios, I can see why they wont let outsiders use it (proprietary technology), however their measures to prevent those sorts of data breaches dont really look that strong. There are plenty of files in the leak that are not what digsite members had access to so its safe to say the data breach happened within microsofts servers. The attitude and elitism from microsoft higher ups is rich considering they dont respect even the professionals in the industry properly, like many other large corporations, with many layoffs, offloading labour to ai, overworking employees, etc.
dude even Roblox devs pay people to make games/maps for them, the fact a triple A studio can't even manage that just goes to show how very little they value the community and what they can achieve
Just call them 343, dude. It's the same people, same culture and same attitude. Just because you shuffle the deck chairs in terms of leadership and rebrand, it doesn't mean the core issues aren't still there. The name change is completely unearned.

Hell it is a common practice in many industries to pull that crap to get away from negativity and bad press. Hell in Australia where I live the crappy "unemployment agencies" get a rebrand every 5 years otherwise there would be decades of complaints under the OG name of "Job Networks" This way now if you look up Job Networks suck, you will only get shit from the late 2000's. Its a neat trick if you can pull it off, but most of the time it is damn obvious it is a cover/shield.
Halo Studios is still the same shell of a company with no soul that 343 was. It is awful that after these years of digsite they did pay the modders a dime yet they got plenty of promotional stuff, player spikes in MCC. I hate this
As much as Halo has had a profound impact on me growing up, it is time to let things go - the Golden Age has ended and the company running it is deplorable. I miss you Bungie - I wanted you to stay with us but times have changed for the worst
Yeah I’m just gonna keep playing MCC for the campaigns, custom games, and sometimes multiplayer. I’ll still keep an eye out for anything new but it’s been rough. It’s funny though because every time I get the urge to play Infinite’s multiplayer again I can’t load into a game it just cycles through the loading screen and then disconnects, like it’s telling me to not play lol
@@DoGTHESEEKERContent yeah Halo 5 seems to have a pretty fun and Arcady multiplayer. I’ve had so many years to get Halo 5 but I can’t bring myself to because of the campaign. Idk, I just can’t and it’s so odd.
MCC literally has more players than Infinte too, and I understand why. I put 90 hours into Infinite's multiplayer and it was painfully repetetive with such bare bones content. Then most players quit and every game just had the same sweats still playing. The desync was also horrible, many people complained about that and I dont think it was ever fixed.
It does seem rather ridiculous that they never got compensated for their work. While I understand that they were brought on as volunteers to handle cut content restoration, they should have at least been paid for the work they did, digsite was literally the anchor holding halo, and now that they are gone, we can only really trust in the modders (which isn't a bad thing but we will be dry on the bigger content sadly) Halo Studios should have paid them, and they should have viewed them in a higher light. Viewing them as 'not real developers' is such a narcissistic perspective which is in my opinion pretty disrespectful for a studio who literally is in charge of a huge franchise and is trying to respect it's community (which they have yet to even do at all). Digsite may not be real developers but the work they did should not be ignored. Despite the name change they are already repeating the mistakes they made before rebranding themselves, guess Halo Studios can't truly escape the shadow of 343 industries.
At that this point I suggest we become like the carnivores community and focus on mods. Because that's the best halo content we are gonna get for the foreseeable future. We don't need to rely on the official halo stuff anymore. especially when what we have gotten for the past decade hasn't been the best (or really has expanded halo) and from this digsite situation, I think its safe to say it wont get better. If you halo content creators don't have content, the best choice is to cover mods. (Thank you for doing tons of videos about mods in 2024 hidden) Ever since the start of 2024 I saw the writing on the wall clear they were gonna leave MCC in the dust when it still needs tons of bug fixes and features (modded CBG, mods on xbox, fixes to CO-OP) to help the community thrive on it still. I was wondering if they would bother supporting digsite with how they treated MCC and with neo, sean and a few other digsite members outright saying that halostudios/microsoft (same thing as they say) would do nothing to support our legacy interests in any good faith. That they don't even view forgers or modders work as "real work" that was full confirmation of what we already knew about these people and that we would just have to focus on the community's mods from now on. Because these people don't even view the sweat, blood and tears we put into our projects as real work so you can tell they just view us as consumers and not as actual fans.
@@ae-vm6ie Here I will put it in a language you can understand "No cap fr fr, 343 UNIRONICALLY abandoned us 😭😭😭, Modders about to take the W and carry the halo franchise fr fr 🔥🔥🔥" There I hope you can understand now.

What even is the digsite? Were they like fan devs? Official? People that got together in a forum? The studio that made the E3 demos? Who are this people?
It was a collection of community members that were dedicated modders for Halo, and they had full support from 343 and 343 helped them, supported them and gave them all the old Halo stuff they had in the archives.
Us fans will consider the digsite team and possibly some halo devs that helped the real halo devs. 343/Microsoft corporate has already destroyed halo a long time ago
Let this be a lesson to anyone who works for free for one of the largest company in the world...don't. Never work for free. Digsite's issue is that they assumed a lot instead of having a written contract. It's like yeah it sucks what they went through but at the same time you decided to work for free and didn't get a contract going before starting to work. Microsoft isn't loosing anything with digsite being disbanded, but the community is taking a hit.
Halo deserves better man. Microsoft should support this team and give them the resources they need. I believe the jump to unreal engine is great but the 343 needs talents who are passionated about creating quality content for its fans.
Remember all those games through the years that were supposed to be THE "Halo killer"? Seems Microsoft succeeded in preventing that, by ensuring Halo was the game to kill itself off, rather than letting anyone else have the opportunity.
My favorite quote from black ops is " The flag might be different but the methods are still the same. " Leadership might have changed, but their sour taste remain and have been replaced by the same thing.
It's been four years since the last Halo game. If Halo Studios can't even get a top down shooter in Unreal Engine released in the next six months, 100% of them should be fired and replaced with the actual developers of the Digsite Team. What's going on is clearly tribal nepotism, not game development, even on the Steam forums, and Twitter.
That would not be hard... Just don't betray everything the character stands for. Guess it would need some evil genius to manage that into what would essentially have been non-stop fighting.
Aside from the topic of this video I just want to highlight how much I love that RE4 theme. I immediately recognized that Resident Evil 4 serenity theme.
So you're telling me that the 343i of old and classic Microsoft attitudes haven't changed since late 2024? Halo is never coming back guys. It would take an entirely different studio to bring Halo back to its glory days.
Seeing the slow transition of an entire industry that was built by passionate and creative teams into a corporate slop pit is depressing. The same can be said about various other industries dealing with creativity, but this one just hurts the soul.
"Real developers" make fun enjoyable content that actually work. Fake Developers try to make fun and Enjoyable content but can't even get it to work. Dig site team.Thank you so much for all the real work. For all the fun and enjoyable entertainment yall brought dring the darkest hour of halo brought to us by Microsoft. If Halo comes to PlayStation then not only does Xbox as a console dies, but Sony basically have a monopoly on the industry with no major competitor & a $700 PlayStation 6 & $80 base games become frightening realities.
Except Xbox games are also coming to Nintendo. Whether they say so or not, Sony and Nintendo compete with each other still. On top of that, Xbox as a console died a long time ago. Did you not see their commercial where they said anything that has a internet connection and a screen is an xbox? They stopped caring. They're the modern Sega. Except Sega gives a fuck about a lot of their IP's...

Our faith now lies with modders (Halo 2 Ruby's Rebalanced cannot come soon enough)
Sadly it will take forever to see this project out
@@TheHutDave Trust the process.
Big corporations not giving a damn about their communities and customers. Colour me surprised.
dude even Roblox devs pay people to make games/maps for them, the fact a triple A studio can't even manage that just goes to show how very little they value the community and what they can achieve
One quick correction: Tim Miller only directed Deadpool 1. The other 2 had different directors.
I really despise a company using players as contractors for maps, but not paying them. These specific requests should absolutely be paid work.
Hell in Australia where I live the crappy "unemployment agencies" get a rebrand every 5 years otherwise there would be decades of complaints under the OG name of "Job Networks"
This way now if you look up Job Networks suck, you will only get shit from the late 2000's.
Its a neat trick if you can pull it off, but most of the time it is damn obvious it is a cover/shield.
The dig site were the best part of modern halo. I wish nothing, and I mean NOTHING, but the best for them.
Halo 5 might load better than Infinite, lowkey superior Multiplayer too 💀
@@DoGTHESEEKERContent yeah Halo 5 seems to have a pretty fun and Arcady multiplayer.
While I understand that they were brought on as volunteers to handle cut content restoration, they should have at least been paid for the work they did, digsite was literally the anchor holding halo, and now that they are gone, we can only really trust in the modders (which isn't a bad thing but we will be dry on the bigger content sadly)
Halo Studios should have paid them, and they should have viewed them in a higher light.
Halo being great feels like a distant memory to me these days. I feel privileged to have grown up during the 2000's glory days.
(Thank you for doing tons of videos about mods in 2024 hidden)
Ever since the start of 2024 I saw the writing on the wall clear they were gonna leave MCC in the dust when it still needs tons of bug fixes and features (modded CBG, mods on xbox, fixes to CO-OP) to help the community thrive on it still.
Too long, didn't read

Why wouldn’t MS foster this team of talented and passionate workers?
Who the heck works for a company without getting paid?
Fans.
Interns.
Warframe definitely is a refuge game for Halo and Destiny fans. You’d be surprised how many are avid Warframe players now.
some of the orokin(?) maps (spelling? been a while since i played) gives me mad forerunner vibes.
Can confirm, I am one of the old Halo fans who now has 1600 hours in warframe.
@@Faminetheblack I discovered there’s a whole Warframe clan called Zealots of the Luminary and my Halo brain was instantly activated and I got a huge smile across my face
@@PackHunter117 THATS SICK ACTUALLY WTF
@Faminetheblack I’m very tempted to leave my clan and ask if I can join there’s lol
There’s also a Frost skin in the game that vaguely looks like a Sangheili Ultra from Reach/Infinite also. So of course I had to buy it lol
I also named my Railjack ship the Shadow of Intent. Now that I think about it I should see if I can name my Necramech. If I can I’ll name it the Mantis for obvious reasons lol
Thank you for providing the most accurate coverage on this topic thus far. Sorry I wasn't able to be contacted before this went up.
Some of the more experienced and skilled halo modders. Some have been around since halo 1 pc days.
They absolutely squandered an amazing opportunity with the doom collaboration, imagine the fan draw to both franchises
"What the hell just happened with Halo?!" And it's the same shit we've known about Microsoft for years.
Plus a leak. Obviously there wasn't that much of a leak each years. But yeah. Now it's official.
Halo studios is still 343 stop saying they have changed they havent.
If anything they have gotten worse because of people leaving, new leadership and so on.
@andreasrset289 100% im sad but glad i left the community i mostly just watch for the flood lore now.
'self-imposed exile' is a disturbing phrase
Yeah... do we have any explanation for that?
The way Halo is being handled is actually baffling like why is this ten billion dollar franchise relying on volunteers
My favorite quote from black ops is " The flag might be different but the methods are still the same. "
Leadership might have changed, but their sour taste remain and have been replaced by the same thing.
"Aw shit. Here we go again."
0:35 "Calamity! If only we had more time" is one of many halo quotes that lives in my head rent free
Isn’t it illegal to strike a channel in this way? It’s transformative content.
Loved hearing a little bit of Alexander Seropian's Marathon OST in this. Genuinely one of my favorite albums of any genre.
*Three years* since the last Halo game.
They didn't want the secret level episode because it would be better than the actual Halo tv show.
That would not be hard... Just don't betray everything the character stands for. Guess it would need some evil genius to manage that into what would essentially have been non-stop fighting.
“You tried to retire HiddenXperia!”
“Were it so easy.”
"even a manifesto"

truly one of the leaks of all time.
And this is why we need to get bean counters out of creative works, especially for established franchises.
We need to push for a strike from forgers. Halo studios would have no content for infinite without them and they really deserve better
90GB big deal that's like 2 COD multiplayer skins
MCC has 6 games on under 200GB, so 90 is a big deal for us. CoD just has terrible optimization or something.
The original trilogy fit on three DVDs.
Once again why would we want Halo CE remade by these intertwined companies just cause their called Halo Studios now!?
Man just hurts the heart that halo used to be on top of things and just watching year by year how they ruined it for the community makes it even worse
Seeing the slow transition of an entire industry that was built by passionate and creative teams into a corporate slop pit is depressing. The same can be said about various other industries dealing with creativity, but this one just hurts the soul.
Microsoft acting like Nintendo
Love your videos
I'll give Nintendo a pass this time because they at least care about their IP's.
They always have. Even back in the Bungie days. Remember Banjo Kazooie?
Microsoft: “you are on our workforce. But we do not grant you the rank of Paid Employee”

Dig site team.Thank you so much for all the real work. For all the fun and enjoyable entertainment yall brought dring the darkest hour of halo brought to us by Microsoft. I wish all of you good fortune on your next adventures and projects..
They should make it so everything that has happened after 3 was just chief dreaming so we can get some actual good games
If Halo comes to PlayStation then not only does Xbox as a console dies, but Sony basically have a monopoly on the industry with no major competitor & a $700 PlayStation 6 & $80 base games become frightening realities.
Xbox is trying to become like steam.. Selling software is a money printing machine unfortunately.
Fire Phil Spencer!
