- Learn football skills - why Rondo is the best football training exercise in the world. In this video we take a look at Rondo, a great training exercise for learning football skills every football player needs to master. Rondo is a simple drill where a superior amount of attacking players try to keep the ball against an outnumbered amount of defenders - and while it sounds extremely easy, this is one of the best training drills ever created in football! FC Barcelona and players like Xavi, Lionel Messi and Andres Iniesta have all learned lots of their football skills by playing Rondo in every single one of their FC Barcelona training sessions, and in this video we teach you everything you need to know about Rondo and why you need to add this simple drill to your football training routine. Watch the full video now to learn how to improve your football skills with Rondo - trust me, you don't want to miss this one!
Rondo is a fantastic training exercise that teams such as FC Barcelona use every day at the training ground through all age groups. Playing Rondo is simple: a group of players try to keep the ball by passing it to one another - while a smaller group of defenders try to intercept the pas ses and win the ball back. The player responsible for losing the ball replaces a defender in the middle and you can make the game more difficult by limiting the amount of touches the attacking players can take.
Rondo will improve your football skills in tons of key aspects, all in one simple exercise: In order to improve your decision making, playing under pressure with one or two touches, finding key passes, learning how to win the ball back - this is the one exercise you need to add in your training routine, so watch the full video now to learn everything you need to know about Rondo!

I absolutely love doing Rondos with my friends, I can do it all day long it is so fun. It also develops extreme technique in tight spaces.

Honestly, besides actual games - Rondo is by far my favorite thing about football 😍⚽
Did you ever did a video with ronaldo
The only thing that amazes me, how come 50+ player didn't invent this?? Or, have they?? Obviously, this is all what's left of our game!! :D

The creator of the rondo was actually Johan Cruyff, he was quoted saying" I created this exercise because I hated running..." quoted from barça dreams on netflix
Very true,barca playera hardly run
He may be the creator in Spain, but certainly not in the world.
Correct, this exist from beginning of football
Not quite. Bela Guttmann has this drill in his coaching book. And he coached in the 1930's.
This drill is pure magic. In September last year I joined a new college and had friends who had never played football before. I insisted that all of them practice el Rondo before matches and in practice sessions and in the end we had a pretty solid team for the sporting events
This improves our communication, passing in tight space & we can know each other's game
*FUN FACT:* In Finnish 🇫🇮 we call this *höynä*
In Indonesia 🇮🇩 we call this "kucing-kucingan"
In România 🇷🇴 it s “Măgărușul sau miuța”
Suomi mainittu. TORILLE!
FUN FACT: In mandarine 🇭🇰 we call this 馬騮搶球 it means monkey chase the ball
In Ireland 🇮🇪 we say rondo
I liked this technique
I stay in the middle and it helped me develop into a better defender
Love the Rondo. I tell my players 11v11 games are just giant versions of rondo. That’s why we do it so much.
This is very useful and so are the other video you make. This channel helps me a lot
Bad thing about rondo : being in the middle and getting megged
Ahhh! That's why I see them doing it whenever I see youtube training sessions by Barcelona!
As always, really great video and explanation. 👏
Rondo is very good exercise 😍

I love this information
Loved it
Awesome video bro
Thanks unisport! Amazing videos
rondos are the first thing for barça we do in practice and we doing them for about 20
minutes
for the past 2 years I’ve been using rondo as a part of my routine with my friends. Rondo doesn’t only create attacking opportunities, it helps the team bond. 👏👏
Exactly when I become a coach I want to practice real situations with passing and chemistry with players like lots of different 1-2 situations and playing out the back , I also want to work on the basics and technical skills of players and let them scrimmage after every session as playing actual football is important and fun rondo's do help but shouldn't be prioritized
What? Are u serious?

Beautiful
"Secret drill of Barcelona." Dude, that's a rondo.
It was first implemented in barcelona😂
I love that keeler passing
Good video but important to remember that the rondos shown are the very basics. Teams don’t play like Barcelona with just 4v2 and 8v4 etc rondos in a circle as shown. Positional rondos are key and those which put players in situations that resemble those which they’d be in during a full match are key.
Respect I am just waiting to gt back on the pitch myself
I agree. This exercise is AMAZING. Unfortunately nobody in practice takes it seriously. I hate when players stand still with hands in pockets and no forcing receive a ball you pass, and maybe they blame you because they want everything easy. But during the match what do you do? Do you say to the opponent "hey, don't press me, the ball is difficult to control"? I don't think opponents care
We used to call it keep away. Our coach used to make so that if ten passes were completed, the defenders had to drop down and do a set of push ups. Fun times!
Rondos are so fun
Thanx Unisport
Hey dude!! What's up man. I am really thankfull to you for what you teach to us with all this content.. Thank you so much, as said before I am on my way to a professional soccer player.⚽️⚽️🇺🇸🇺🇸 May God save us all from this global problem... ALSO I AM THE 1st viewer and THE 1ST VOTER.....😎😎😎

It's cool rondo
We practice it whenever we get in the pitch. Love from Bangladesh 🇧🇩
my team does this exercise during training
we call it rondo or sometimes man in the middle!
Nice video
I remember we used to play this back in the day in South Africa but ours was a bit different such that, 1) the defenders or those have the ball must touch or kick the ball once to pass it, 2) there's only one person or charger in the centre, 3) you go into the centre if you loose the ball to the charger or touch it more than once while passing.
Speito mpama
We did this type of exercises in the seventies in Poland where I learned how to play.
Correct, in Hungary too 🇭🇺❤️🇵🇱
This is my favorite team training drill. My team would do rondo for 15 mins
Best Drill
We to practice this in our training session
Coaching a group of 8-9 yr old girls and we are slowly learning the rondo! I see improvement in the rondo every practice
Wow🔥
Actually we have formed our own gully football team. And we've adopted FC Barcelona's playing style. Once or twice a year, we organize a friendly match against another local gully football teams and we win majority of the matches.
Me and my friends also like it, in India we call it 'beech ka bakra'. Me and my friends go crazy when the person in the middle gets nutmegged in a very special way. Thank you guys for making all your videos..
Salute to BARCA!!
Jolty is back 🔥..rondo is really fun.....
Can you please make a video to explain how to shoot a dipping shot???
Here in south Africa we call it -ONE TOUCH
Cuz if u u touch it more then once u mark
Nutmeg=x2 marking again ×4 n so on
Take the ball pass the ball...take the ball pass the ball this is what I love the most...
Even as a teenager playing with friends, we did this exercise before every game. You get to practice close control and passing under pressure in tight spaces. The reason why the Barcelona and Spain sides of 2008-2012 were so dominant was because of this.
Wow interesting
We called it piggy in the middle when we played in late 80s early 90s and our coaches said they did it when they were kids so I'm guessing that's 60s /70s back then so it's great but not new or anything like. Also it only controls your passing under pressure, decision making and pressing ( if you are the middle chap) but not you own movement off the ball which is another necessary learning component.
make a video on how to dip a soccer ball
We are at home... give us home exercise please
So rondo is the best exercise and the most enjoyed
Well it's going. to be difficult to get a group of people to do this right now😁
LOL we actually do it here in India with my friends all the time but never realize that this drill is an important drill in FC barca...
Nice 👋
Kids in fields have been doing this way before Barcelona coach discovered it...
Actually it's quite popular in whole for a long time
In srilanka people when they have freinds always do this exercise ,its usually done by me also,
We call it middle in srilanka (I miss football⚽♥😢😢)
We used to do that evertime at training
Can you make a video on T.Minamino
doning this before every training and match
We call it according to the shape formed like 3player-triangle else circle
My coach for some reason is totally against rondo. Every time I set one up he gets really mad at us and tells us to just run around and pass the ball to each other.
He probably likes real situation passes idk I suck at rondo's tho
Now I want to see the secret drill that made them the best bottler
of Europe!
Rondos are basically what we do at Boca Juniors too
I think it's used in almost every team nowadays.
It was used long time ago
It originated from Barcelona
In Mexico, we call it "Torito," meaning "little bull" as it resembles the Bullfighting (Tauromaquia in spanish), the player without the ball takes the roll of the bull. In contrast, the others are the toreros, and every pass is cheered with an "Ole".
Liked it
Good morning please I want to see Sancho skills and Martial
Oh thats why my coach always make us play it
man i wish football can come back because without it know no one will be happy
In Pakistan🇵🇰 we call it "beech ki bili" meaning "Cat in the middle"
