These drills are designed so that a handful of kids are standing around doing nothing while everyone else is playing. It would make more sense to have ALL the kids participating in the drills all the time.
Lousy opening drill. Look how lazy/aimless the passing is in the rondo without anyone in the middle. 5 players on the outside also makes no sense. Much better to simply do classic 4 four sides with one player in the middle and have a coach manage the intensity and form.
Did Johann Cruyff actually said anything about Rondo's? You could have mentioned it.
It's funny you ask. Johan Cruyff once said that a rondo simulates every part of an actual match besides shooting.
