Homecoming may not be a perfect Silent Hill experience, but if it did one thing unquestionably right, it's the bosses. Scarlet, Asphyxia and Amnion are some of the most disturbing monsters in the entire series. Honestly, the game is worth it for them alone!
They have made Abstract Daddy even more disturbing and daunting in the remake. Now it feels like the story behind him and Angela reveals through the boss fight and it is terrifying as hell
One thing I always commed to Silent Hill are the monster designs. They're always so disturbing and horrifying to look at. And here I thought Resident Evil had insane looking monsters.
The scariest boss of silent hill was the entire game and pure existence of Silent Hill: The short message. The game scared the shit out me with its shit story and themes, and did not live up to these classics, holy shit I'm so scared i want my time back.
God i wish we could get like a revamped homecoming. The whole sacrificing the children plot is so dark and heavy but has so much potential to be even more disturbing... the plot would need some fixing, but the trauma with the rituals was so juicy
love this list, i just played homecoming for the first time and don't know why such the hate on this, I know it is not silent hill 1,2,3 but still should get some love. Really love the boss fight and was a challenging game for me. Got to love Abstract daddy really cool design, hopefully it will be done well in the remake and get to enjoy abstract daddy again.

I could just thank the team behind this series and Masahiro Ito for making the scariest boss designs in survival horror, all ten of the list's contenders would think Resident Evil's bosses look like child's play in comparison.
just started playing the first 3 games again, as i do every year. greatest horror games ever made, up to sh 4 at least. you could start to see the downward trend in sh4. while the story was, ok at best, the true horror lies within the first 3 games
If u ask me Im always shitting myself when watching Homecomings Bossfights They did good with them Tho I wish I played anything else than RE 4 from horrors 😅

the only thing I like in homecoming is the boss fights and I expected to see a lot of it here but Angela's father is the most disturbing of course
