👍 👍👍👍👍 Thank you. This is the BEST JOLIE review I have seen yet! You answered all of my questions: 1) Jolie Paint does NOT have a sandpaper or gritty finish 2) It can cover in 2 coats. 3) It has a nice workability time and doesn’t dry too quickly while your trying to smooth out brush strokes 4) The Jolie Paint doesn’t have a strong smell 5) The Jolie Wax does not have any chemicals smells 6) You can paint over Jolie Wax with Jolie Paint if you want to change the color of the piece
What a great review! You went over everything so well, and we so happy your followers will know a little more about Jolie :) Your piece painted in Slate turned out incredible too! Looking forward to seeing more of your Jolie projects!
Thanks so much for the great review! I’m so excited to try out the paint for myself after watching. Love your piece as well. Always enjoy your videos. 😃
Glad to see you got your boot off as well. I’m sure it feels so freeing. I got a hairline fracture on the top of my foot, many years ago, right after having one of my boys. Was not fun having to wear a boot while taking care of a newborn. 🥴
Rebekah Towers Thank you! Yes after 3 months in a cast and 1 in a boot - I was more than ready to get it off! Yes being like that and having to take care of a little one was challenging I’m sure! 😀
My first time watching one of you videos, it was a pleasant presentation! My only recommendation is add the Jolie color or colors use use in your projects in the description field under the video. I personally like to read and refer back to the materials painters use. Keep up the good work and I love your very organized workshop!!
Thank you! Yes I think I got excited to pier some of my videos and forgot to list that! I always love to share colors and brands I use - I was just to quick on this one! 😀
itsmeamanda01 Hi. Thank you. No if it’s really beautiful I work with it, I have done partial paint and leave the rest if the wood is perfect. Things look better on camera sometimes! I love the look and feel of a pretty wood piece, one of the reasons I do so many stained tops - I like to leave a little bit of that natural beauty showing. Check out my Instagram or website (borninarnboutique.net and born in a Barn Boutique) you will see that most the time the before is not that pretty! I have also have some pieces where I have left the wood you can see! Thank you for watching! 😀
Rachael Gum no not unless you are working with non wood pieces (Formica, laminate, etc). Also if you had to wood fill areas, then you would sand after or if you were needing to sand out gouges, marks or dents.
Elizabeth Rabby 3 of them are brand new - my other two are older - I know they recommend that, but I have never stored them that way - no real reason I guess - other than I am clumsy and would probably knock them over all the time. 😀. I paint everyday, I hang them pretty drenched, so usually they are pretty damp when I go to use them again! I may just have to try it and see
@@BorninaBarnBoutiqueI have knocked over my jars many times, but they say using a metal can with magnets helps. But then again gotta be careful you don't knock that over.. LOL. Good to know as I paint every day as well and on the days I know I wont paint then I'll just hang them.. Great videos.. I am subscribed : )
Elizabeth Rabby 😀 yes I have had my oldest cling on for 3 years and it’s still great! I think the key if ur not storing in water is to clean really well and I don’t dry it out, i just clean and I hang it! Thank you so much!
Hi! Cling on is the brand and I use the F50 for most projects - here is my affiliate link: www.wiseowlpaint.com?aff=12 - my discount code is borninabarn
Yes I find that with a lot of paint brands really seeing the color online can be difficult - computer generated swatches are always different. I feel like their site is not bad when it comes to showcasing their color selection in comparison to others. They do showcase inspiration pics on pieces of furniture by color but I understand, when I order a color I don't want to be surprised and get something I didn't expect. The cool thing is that you can order a color card for $2.50 which a lot of companies do not offer.
@@BorninaBarnBoutique Yes, I have a color card. The samples are small, so I still have difficulty determining the undertones. It is a shame, because I'd like to order online since we don't have a distributor locally. I will take my chances and order, but I think they could improve their website. Btw, your video is great - very clear and concise. I don't have a great attention span, but yours was very informative and my mind didn't wander.
@@studio57finefurniture94 :) Thank you so much! I am in influencer for Jolie and I will pass this feedback along to my contact there! I do think it would be helpful to see full size pieces painted in each color posted. I too do not have a retailer close - so I have to depend on that as well and sometimes its disappointing when your color shows up and its not what you thought - I totally get it!
Not really. It does have to be sealed like chalk paint. This is from their website describing the paint - "Jolie Paint is a water-based decorative paint with an ultra matte finish. It is 100% acrylic emulsion, containing calcium carbonate and other binders to give it exceptional adhesion properties".
If you had not used it your first comment in introduction is its a really cool paint?? Wouldn’t that be believable if you rated after done. It does not come out anywhere in the top 10 rated chalk paints. No where. It is now made by annie sloan manufacturer. ?? The top #1 is the original Amy Howard and annie is down there for walls only?.
That comment had to do with the research I did prior to the video - which I do a lot of. I liked the company, the colors, the presentation, the website, the knowledge provided to the consumer etc. - that is what my comment was based off of. As far as rated chalk paints, I never compare this or say that is one of the 10 ten rated paints - I rate based off my own personal experience with the products. What may be ranked by the internet is not what I base my ratings off off - it just boils down to my own experience with a line.

Watching someone paint is very relaxing. I think talk and paint would be better.
Thank you! You make it easy to understand.
LOVED how it looked in the end but... omg the wood was so beautiful.. do you ever have a hard time painting over it??

Slate
Do you not have to sand the furniture before painting?

i notice you don't store you cling on brushes on water which is recommended. Or are the ones on the wall new ?

I think their website could show the colors better. The samples are small and their aren't enough examples of the colors in use.

could you make a non talking or minimum talking 10 minute video, its much easier to learn. more doesn't necessarily mean better
