``You can work on that radio station all you want. No one is going to hear us.`` D2 calmly spoke. A glance from E4 told her what he wanted to get across without saying a single word. Even through the condition of his armor with his cracked visor, broken chest plate, and tattered cape.. he had not given up hope that someone was looking for them. When she didn't get a response, D2 shook her head and took on the task of sentry duty to keep them protected. E4 continued to work only once she had left the small room, attempting to repair the powerlines that would give the station juice to contact help.
It's been 2 months since they've last seen allies. Civilians or Military alike. The two were deployed within the same area to assist the SEPDF (Super Earth Planetary Defense Force) in holding the illumnates at bay long enough for civilians to be escorted to designated safe zones or off-planet.
Their position was overran, any attempts to move civilians on airlifts were met with a rather quick landing in a ball of fire and steel. G1, their squad lead, brought down a 380 bombardment on their position to delay the illuminate forces. "For Super Earth!" and everything else out of the propaganda book..
Even the blasts from impact could not drown out the screams of both allies and enemies alike.
When the dust cleared, E4 and D2 were all that remained in the area. Their third squad member, Y3, was found to have been unfortunate enough to be hit with direct impact. While G1 was no where to be found. Looking through the ash and debris, they found no safety in the sky. Burning hulks of SES Destroyers floated in the sky, others began their slow decent to embedded themselves into the very ground they were built to protect, adding onto the damage that could be seen wherever you looked. There was no comm chatter. There was no distant booms of artillery. There was only the scattered shots gunfire that seemed to die down quickly, followed by screams that seemed to echo endlessly within the ruins of the steel jungle known as Mega City 7.

As someone else said, this song just hits different with the recent news, and knowing that indeed, just as the game implied, the real enemy was at home, because of that enemy, so many good soldiers wont come back, I just wish things would've played out different.

@danielpagan7311 At the beginning of May, 2024, SONY attacked Super Earth. Thousands of helldivers were cut off from spreading the democracy they gave their lives for. We were so caught up in defending the front we never though we would have the biggest failure at our home planet
Sony (publisher for Arrowhead, the game devs) decided that all players were required to register with a PSN account to play Helldivers II. hundreds of countries have PSN banned and many don't feel safe with the info they entrust to Playstation (a lot of data breaches in the past). as of June 2024, although mandatory PSN is no longer in effect thanks to the entire community rallying with review bombs and refunds, the fight is still not over, as hundreds of our beloved helldivers are still unable to purchase and play the game in these countries

Turns out this song predicted the future. The attack was from within. Sony brought Super Earth down.
BUT we get them back off. no fucking bug, bot or corp will stop us on the way of LIBERTY!
A battle won, however, the war isn't done yet. Sony will come back for it. This is only the beginning, fellow Helldiver. There may be a time where we win against bots and bugs, but there may be a time where we lose Sony completely. Pray for sweet liberty to protect us and never let it be a reality.

As a recruit, I was there. At the creek, In fact.. my CO told me at the time he wasn't going to bother learning my name until I proved myself. Only addressed me as "Fledgling" when the first pods dropped, I swear I was going to pass out from the sheer speed. The tree lines broke my pods fall and I had less than 10 seconds to gather my bearings before the CO dragged me to the nearest cover, our drop coordinates were tampered with.. We landed in the largest Bot facility I ever saw. Towering structures.. 4 hulks, the sounds of the chainsaws... You know, its impossible to describe the smell of melting metal. That feeling of sheer condensed heat burning through a hulks massive armor.. Orbital lasers are no joke. My liberator bouncing off each plate of armor, a brilliant flash of blue like I was scratching the paint of an old car.
I didn't remember much after, their artillery in combination with 2 eagles and constant bombardment from the super destroyers.. call me lucky or unlucky.. but a blast sent me flying to a nearby wall, knocked me clean out. I woke up hours later, dirt in my visor, a few broken ribs and a splitting headache.. Adrenaline quickly took over as I cleared my visor. My CO had used his body to shield mine, laser damage and cracks in his armor... he died fighting for sure. Clenching my hand into a fist to stand, I felt it.. his dog tags. Not just his but my other two comrades as well.
Thinking back on it all. . . I never did learn his name until I got back to my own ship after linking up with a secondary cleanup squadron. "Davis.. Nickname: 7"
Ironic, a nameless helldiver and too stunned to speak.. hahahah... the uhm, the squad I linked with thought I was Davis.. kept calling me 7 too..

Honestly if this ever actually happened I would hope it would be another sequel that would work kind of like an XCOM 2 situation. I mean either a new breed of super secret stealthy helldivers retakes super Earth or it's rebels retaking super Earth as helldiver survivors
They wouldn't do a sequel. This happened many times in Helldivers 1 - If Super Earth fell, then the war ended and then the next 'season' would start and the war began anew. Though they may give us time to retake Super Earth in Helldivers 2 or we become a resistance force with X number of days to liberate Super Earth and push them back, assuming it wasn't completely obliterated like in HD1.

Given how the game works and what the community is like, there'd probably be a massive "deus vult" to retake Super Earth. Probably at the expense of other fronts.

I watched as the planet burned, unable to do anything. I listened to each and every scream of my team as they fell. It was an honour to serve them. From the Creek, to Hellmire, to Home. Two legendary status games. Merged together as one. Hell divers 2 and halo. A cup of libertea and never forget REALLY do compliment each other. They are PERFECT for each other.
We lost reach. But we sure as fuck held the creek.
If it ever came to this, we would see a swell of players like the servers have never seen before. We would rain such a show of force upon super earths enemies like they have never seen before. Every new recruit to the grizzled veteran would pick up arms and show them the true meaning of HELLdivers.
It'd get a bit awkward, considering "Super Earth" seems to be the tutorial area. Imagine doing drills with super destroyers launching stratagems over your head. xD

@@westenev We do get put into stasis right after, so who knows how many years prior to the war the tutorial takes place. Lore-wise, though, if it ever got that desperate, I doubt Super Earth would have time for training facilities 😅

Great composition! You managed to turn a really uplitfting and epic song into a somber and defeated one, impressive! I really like the sense of hope that shines through, though the situation seems dire theres always that little glimmer of hope that remains, no matter the circumstances! And the halo theme at the end, chefs kiss!

It's been such an honor serving with all of you fellow divers. The memories I had and the friends I made while fighting back against the enemies of humanity, throughout the changes to our weapons and the strengths and weaknesses of our enemies since the day our deployment began, I won't ever forget a single one of you. Maybe one day if our leaders change their minds and allow us all to continue the fight without this unstable and useless security measure looming within the data centers of our Super Destroyers, I would return to rejoin the fight for humanity. But for now my fight has ended and I will return into cryo-stasis and await till that time has come.
