I checked this a year back on the MDX and saw this cable severed but saw the wires around it and thought maybe it was some sort of coaxial cable. When you said they were probably just ground went back cut them (the ground wires were still connected as well) did some soldering and all back to working. Thanks for that bit of insight on the outer wires, I was hesitant to mess with it before.
This was a game changer. The wife backed our 2003 into a curb and the backup camera stopped working. Had the same issue here. Opened up the rubber housing and there was a small red wire that was severed. I reconnected and taped it up and now it works! Thanks for this video my man!
Mine doesn’t even turn on, I can’t even see the gps screen when I turn on the car. If you have any idea why this is happening please let me know I’m willing to try to fix it.
Ooh, that's a tough one. From what I've read, there might be a more technical problem with the head unit (whole screen/radio system) - might be as simple as a loose connection behind the unit, maybe a broken wire or something.. or it could be that the screen itself has burned out and you may need to replace the whole unit.
This is the fix that works in 2024 for a 2004 MDX. Thank you.

Really was the case with my car. Fixed now
He did you connect the ground wires separately? Having this issues connected only copper wires still not working
I’m having just a black screen when I put in reverse on my ‘03, we might have the same exact problem I’ll have to check it out tomorrow!
That sounds exactly like what I was dealing with.
