I appreciate the information you gave in this video. A tip for future videos however would be to include the jack points. Usually when I'm doing a DIY oil job that's one of my big concerns. Sometimes the vehicle's manual isn't available or is very vague. Thanks for what you do!
Thanks, I can do that. 😍 I normally use a set of ramps when doing oil changes as it's much faster than having to jack it up. If I do jack it up I use the pinch welds with a pinch weld puck to protect the pinch weld. 😎
Didn't fill that filter with oil... helps prevent a "dry start", it takes a couple of minutes for added security/peace of mind/not thrashing Bearings & such for a few seconds. Toyota engines are hearty, & it won't hurt once in a while. But why risk it to save a few minutes? Thanks for the filter & drain plug/bolt location. Getting ready to help a friend with his car.
Yes, the standard Prius uses a version of the 2zr 1.8L engine. I myself own a 2010 Prius that uses a cartridge type oil filter. This is for the 2012-19 Prius C with the 1.5L engine which uses a spin on type of oil filter.
The front of the car of course! That's where the engine is located and the oil pan is to drain the oil. The oil filter is right next to it as you will see in the video.
Yes indeed! It’s very important to change the oil filter with every oil change. Why leave that dirty oil and everything the oil filter is holding to mix with the new oil? An oil filter isn’t expensive.

I always pour oil in the filter too. I just forgot to mention it when I did it. That is something that should always be done as you pointed out.
