According to TH-cam standards, that video should have teased what you covered in full and made me click a link, enter my email, and sign up for a course that would only be 50% off for the next 10 minutes if I wanted to unlock my music potential. Thank you so much for breaking the mold.
Wow I never so someone who ripped the circle apart and put it back together in such a great way! Thanks to you I can understand everything in such a short period of time. You're really awesome and I'm really greatful for your encouragement! 😁😊
Oh ok, I get it a little more now, like the piano, if you know the 3 notes to make that chord, they repeat up and down the fretboard, and if you know the shapes of those chords, you can cross reference those with other chords or barre those in reference to its relative chord shape or position. 🤯😱 THIS IS WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR 🔥 YES ! Now I can make my own songs, starting with single note melodies and then create the chord in that position or octave higher or barre the chord to get the sound I want all over the fret board wow ! CAGED !!!! Got it …… 😎 AWESOME JOB MIKE GEORGE 🏆🥇 👏🏾
Thank you for explaining the caged system in a way that wasn't convoluted. I've been playing for over 20 years now, and I think it's high time I actually learned how to play. Beginner for life 😎🖖🎸
Very nice and helpful. But to play the really (I call them 'tasty' songs) too eventually have to learn all of those classic 'jazz standards; here are some must know jazz tunes: 'Autumn Leaves', 'There will never be another you', 'Sunny', 'Take the A Train' and even Rand Bachman's 'Looking Out of Number One' which he learned from master jazz guitarist 'Lenny Breau'. 'Misty' is another nice tune. I'm naming these as they are not too complex and thus quite learnable. But they introduce you to those next tier of flavourful, jazzy chords which will step up your playing a couple of important musical notches so to speak. After all, music is language, communication. Once you learn these extra jazzy chords, you will feel like you are playing at a whole new level. You'll feel like a much more accomplished guitarist. Chords such as: flat fifths, suspended, augmented, sharp sevenths, minor ninths, F(bass note)/Am7, and a few more of these sort of chords.
I wished I saw this video when I first started learning. I’m a visual learner and this was absolutely the best explanation I’ve seen or heard hands down! I have liked and subscribed 😃 Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
It my first time finding a good lesson like this, though it kinda hard for me to understand all of this, I still will be able to use it because this is what i am asking for life now. hehhe I downloaded it and gonna rewatch as much untiI I understand it all while practice the chord. It definitely the legit lesson I am trying to find.😭 It just came up to my mind that I believe that this the very foundation of learning guitar than learning chord one by one.
You've explained more about the fretboard than any video I've seen yet. I know the open (cowboy) chords and always wanted to learn how to use those chords elsewhere. Brilliant!
Bro your video is so good I searched Google and found five videos on TH-cam on this concept and everyone was not good and they had way more subscribers than you. Basically what I’m saying is keep up this great calibre of Contant and you will be one of the top guitar guys on u tube just because of your teaching method. Cheers.
Thank you, as a musician myself, you have given me a light bulb moment or two. Lol, My biggest problem is not so much the music theory, as it is trying to learn the fret board in a way I don't even have to think, just do it. I realize some things take a little longer to grasp on too, but , my desire to learn lead & playing solo's, and turn around I am working hard to get it accomplished. Lol Thanks bud, I appreciate a good musician with knowledge as yourself. God bless, keep the video's coming! 🙂🙏🎸🎸🎸
I always watch guitar videos, and have been on TH-cam since it came out….I never really comment on videos, but this was great info, and it was explained very well.
Great lesson Ive wanted to harmonize melodies on the guitar as I do on piano. You helped me put order to a chaotic instrument. Im going to the guitar and harmonize a standard like Autumn Leaves. Thanks so much.
It seems you may have hit the missing link in order for me to finally understand. I’ll rewatch this several more times but something made sense to me. 30 years of self thought playing. I always knew there was pattern but could never find a way to understand it. Thanks this is awesome information.
This is so awesome and i actually thought that caged system was something related to idk "caging" some chords because i thought it's some advanced concept lol, but the way you explained it here i got it even as a beginner, tho i do know some music theory of chords and functions from piano. Your video quality literally never wavers 🌻🌻
Amazing what you have coved in a short time... closely packed theory here that really is the basis of everything in guitar. ..Getting your head round this is the challenge ...but will pay dividends
Great video. I'm definitely going to have to watch again, that was a lot to take in. Couple of questions, when you played the chords further up the neck, are they still open or do you have to put a barre down? And secondly, there were one or two occasions l couldn't see the chord.the fingerings were meant to convey. The G for example.
I guess I'm more of a novice than I thought. I can almost start to understand though for this to help, but not quite. At least now I know what to move to once I master whatever my missing steps are.
This is cool and all, but what if I wanted to play chords from different scales than just the major scales? Do I just get really really good at the caged system to the point where it's completely natural, then find the major scale version of the chord I want to play and just flatten or sharpen the notes to match the scale I want to be in?
This method is only valuable if you know every note on the fretboard. This is the most convoluted description of the CAGED system I've ever seen. Use bar chords children.
I’d like to disagree with what’s been said here. As much as the quality of information being given in this video is top notch, the delivery style can be questioned. It was extremely difficult to follow along as a beginner trying to understand chord formation. You spoke too fast. The illustrations were difficult to follow. There was a lot that was left unsaid. This video could’ve been delivered in a simpler manner. Good stuff still, but there’s a ton of people who may not be able to follow.
Dude, the fretboard chart on the video is overwhelming me and I can't even tell where our fingers are supposed to go for each note (it's not clear enough) and it ruined the experience.

I’m glad you’re here. Yes, I want my corner of TH-cam to be a place where we can let our guard down and have some fun.
Totally!
Just like how Organic Chemistry Tutor carries my university marks, this man absolutely blows my mind with guitar theory. Unbelievably helpful!
same here, organic guitar tutor
O Chem is no joke this guy must be good
Organic chemistry tutor is a national hero to me
The single most clear and definitive explanation of how the guitar fret board correlates to notes, chords, and scales. Bravo 🔥🔥🔥
Wow. I need this now. I’ll be coming back to this for sure. Many thanks says a newbie of 9 months ( aged63)
Like a real cowboy, you can roam freely from these chords. Nice 👍🏼
the visuals and explaning of this video were simply perfect

Wow!!! I’m a beginner player and this is EXACTLY what I have been looking for. I’ll probably watch this a dozen times. Thank you for real.
*Ultimate..Nothing can be better than this from millions of TH-cam videos🎉*

what an excellent video man, this answered a lot of questions i had

I do enjoy your videos. It's informative.
Thanks for posting this man. It was really helpful for a beginner like myself who is ready to expand past the same old open cowboy chords
I think this is the best instructional iv seen to date!!! True blessing. God bless 🙏
How are you posting videos at the most perfect time

Awesome, thank you soo much; great theoretical guitar class!
I have been looking for this explanation for SO long! Thank you!

Finally I found the perfect video for my problem
Wow! I found what I really is impossible to have this kind of video... Thank you for the detailed information... 🎉🎉🎉 Salute!

You are a guardian angel 😇

Very Good
amazing man thx! :)
How do you memorize and internalize all this information? Is there any workbook you would suggest?
Very nice video :D was making screenshots almost every second 😂 if i have some money on the shelf i am definitely gonna check out your locals page.
Thank you sir
Is there a link anywhere to the stickers for the fretboard?
Sir, can you please provide me with notations of English film "Come September" please
So do we have to live with colored dots on our fretboard after memorizing?..this is a visual rep right?
Is your guitar chord tool ready yet for writing songs?
How do you find the letters in the chord like the example has C E G but how do you know its those is it within the scale
Please help me understand the notes. How do i know what notes are comprised of in every chord ?
I guess I'm more of a novice than I thought. I can almost start to understand though for this to help, but not quite. At least now I know what to move to once I master whatever my missing steps are.
*enough, not though. And my phone won't let me edit

hey @mikegeorge360 why are some notes in squares and others in circles?
If I become a supporter, will I have access to all the materials without extra cost?
Absolutely wonderful. Liked and Subscribed. God bless in Jesus's Name 🙏
you need to show on the guiiter the shapes
I can't broo my brain hurts 😭
Wow!
The Dm G shape looks weird to me
Huh?! GD. Back to the drawing board.
Ohh ohhh that’s a Maranta plant
So if I learn the open chords I've got the rest in the bag
Great job mr algorithm lol

👌
@7:35 shoutout to the fart haahha
What were you thinking when you drew your guitar upside down? Why?
Good video but perhaps you could actually show on the guitar itself. You can see and hear the positions.
Nice. But slower please
This method is only valuable if you know every note on the fretboard. This is the most convoluted description of the CAGED system I've ever seen. Use bar chords children.
totally schooled
Animation and explanation is too fast for me ,it is a lot of info, sorry.
It is a lot, but it inspired me to think more about this concept
@@joshmays8935 one can think of the concept once he understand the explanation.
There’s so much info to cover and it takes a lot of time to edit this stuff. Rewatch or lower the video speed down if its too much.
still no since

IF IT WAS SO GODDAMN SIMPLE YOU WOULD BARELY HAVE ANY VIEWS!!!
Is this supposed to be easy?!

Sorry, you lost me. As you moved up the neck you said play the G shape, E shape etc but whereabouts?
I am trying but….huuuuhh??!! 😢

this is difficult to understand lol
too complicated. dont understand u
@@w1ck3d01pr I know it’s really hard
@@w1ck3d01pr you have to play the chords he’s describing and also do note identifying exercises for each string along the fret board many times
Dude, the fretboard chart on the video is overwhelming me and I can't even tell where our fingers are supposed to go for each note (it's not clear enough) and it ruined the experience.
Br what the fuck
Do you actually understand what your saying, or are you simply reading a script ?
