Tsushima is such a wonderful game. And I'm totally with you on this. 2025 looks like a great year for gaming, but Yōtei is the one I'm looking forward to most.
GoT was my first 100% ever, so I definitely shared your experience of needing more of that game like I never felt with any other game. I'm sad to see Jin go too, but I'm sure they will continue GoT's tradition of telling tales and Legends, and Jin is the perfect candidate. I can even hear the story now about how "some say he killed lord shimura, and some say he spared him, and he spent the rest of his days in shame and isolation." Keeping both endings potentially Canon. I'm sure Jin's shadow will loom over this whole new game.

I believe this is not the end of Jins' story but rather a world building game and an expansion of the IP. I certainly see sucker punch holding off on Jin for a potential PS6 title.
It's certainly possible and I would love for that to happen, but Sucker Punch's statement in the Playstation Blog post made it sound like that may not be the case. Talking about how they want to continue to tell Ghost Origin stories and make this more of an anthology series. Would still love to see something about Jin post Ghost of Tsushima though!

Why would Jin "take on the shogunate"? He's not against them per se, he's just broken their rules. I never undrstood where people thought Jin's story could go. All his high stake personal threads have been tied up. Any continuation would be shallow AF. The Yotei trailer didn't catch me off guard because I thought it was obvious the next game would have a new protagonist, just like their other games such as InFamous. I'm loving the Kill Bill x Princess Mononoke vibes.

I think part of it is the first Mongul Invasion has a really obvious sequel bait withe the second Mongul Invasion. Unfortunately said invasion plays out much the same with Tsushima & Iki falling quickly and the Monguls failing to break out on the mainland. And while Jin is on the outs with the samurai, I don't see him taking out samurai camps like he did Mongul camps without there being a rebellion or civil war. The breakup wasn't that bitter. With the threat of invasion being a major concern for the next three decades, there isn't any particular campaign for Jin to attach himself to. There's tons of samurai rebellions, civil wars, and invasions/pacifications where hunting samurai would work (including the major inspiration of the ninja legend), but I'm not aware of any in Jin's lifetime except the second invasion.
I think the change in time period is the perfect move for the franchise. Having this series become an anthology throughout history would be pretty awesome. I’m excited to see how this game builds off the excellent foundation of the first one.

One of my favorite fighting theme is " The Way of the Samurai " from the first game. Like this music right there, was a masterpiece. And man I hope they gonna make new bangers for Yotei, can't wait
I also wanted to see jin continuing his story, but the idea of jin becoming a legend is pretty great and the idea of playing as a character who dosen't have his morals might be intresting, perhaps it could be a redemption story, her learning from jin and becoming a more honourable fighter
I'm currently playing Ghost of Tsushima on PS5 for the first time. Wow! What an incredible game. It's absolutely stunning to look at. The combat is the best I've ever experienced in a game. The Dualsense makes the combat feel so immersive and visceral. Stunning! 💥

I'm hopping that they somehow make ghost of yote relate to Jin Shakai. He's the best protagonist since the Witcher 3. I wish that they made the story of the new protagonist heavily inspired by Jin, take on his passion to liberate their people and for the people.
Maybe the third installment of this game series will return to Jin and continue his story! I think we would all go CRAZY to see him and lord shimura go up against the shogunate.
Shimura (most likely) wouldn't go against the Shogunate when he was willing to kill Jin despite seeing him as his son. Jin wouldn't really have any reason to go against the Shogunate himself. He took the path of the ghost to protect his home. It had nothing to do with any personal conflicts with the shogunate. He could go after them purely because he is being hunted by them, but that would be a superficial and not very compelling reason imo. I think Jin went through a complete character arc and is completely fine to leave GOT as a self-contained story that leaves the final decision in the players hands.
@kevinkijowski5980 I believe Jin opened shimura's eyes in their final meeting. Shimura has two options now, either continue to be a slave to his honor and likely be forced to commit seppeku (or however you spell it) or join forces with Jin. As far as Jin I know he would get tired of being hunted and with the second Mongol invasion he would have a reason to go to the mainland.
Still looking forward to Shadows more because of the dual protagonists and seasons, but I guess that's pending on finding out more solid info on what they're adding to Yotei, and could be cool to play Shadows then Yotei since they're so close chronologically

A lot of people are hoping that this is just a spinoff and that jin's story will continue in new GOT games but, no I don't think thats what's going to happen and I hope so too, jin's story rapped up PERFECTLY in my opinion and I don't want it forced to continue, GOY is a full fledged sequel from the looks of it and I believe after this game they will continue this trend with a new protagonist and new "the ghost of ___" title and a new setting in Japan's history. also the end of the video was cold as hell
Now that it’s been delayed, it’s AC Shadows for me. Japan is the setting I’ve wanted the most and the world and stealth look excellent. Hoping the writing will be up to snuff
Monster Hunter Wilds is my most anticipated, but after that comes out, it's Yotei because Dynasty Warriors Origins is out January. I got a lot of Kill Bill vibes from the trailer, one of my all time favorite movies. Yotei is the land of Japan indigenous people and she may be one of them so her being the ghost is probably something like the Weapons in Final Fantasy VII.
Super hype for this game, Atsu seems to be using more then Katana in the game, dual wielding and kusarigama could all be very good additions to spice the game up. This trailer has me searching history for clues about the major events that happened in 1603 Japan.
The ending of this video was beautiful. You simply cannot beat GoT soundtrack. It’s bittersweet to say goodbye to Jin but I cannot wait to play this game.
I still hope for Jin to get a sequel in the future. I agree with u that he definitely has potential for a sequel but I am excited for the new character too. Supposing Sucker Punch will deliver like the first time
@@scubasteve3032 I think Ubisoft is just happy with their downfall. All their newer titles are, to most people, wet stinky slop. The only Ubisoft game I recently purchased was AC Mirage and I honestly loved it. Shadows just seems like a disaster waiting to happen.
For me it’s GTA 6. But GOY is 2nd. I played Ghost of Tsushima im November after owning it for four months without playing it and I was blown away. I did not expect it to be so good!
I agree continuing the Tsushima story would be awesome but I think of it like this. Where we will get a new ghost with all the updates and new location but this leaves it to where if they do a third game they will have their pick to continue djins story or the new characters story. Or they will do a new character and progress it even further. Who knows either way I’m on board.
Well the first thing I saw that made me super excited was the fast looking horses (those who played Ghost of Tsushima will probably understand why I'm excited)
I'm extremely excited for this game, and also i'd like to say that while yes technically Hokkaido isnt in the grasp of the Imperial Court or the Shogunate, the Matsumae Clan does control southern Hokkaido (primarily Oshima Peninsula, the only Yamato/Japanese settlement in Hokkaido at the time) and engages in trade with the Ainu (indeginous people of Hokkaido). Since the game takes place in 1603, its 3 years into the construction of Hokkaidos only castle (Matsumae Castle, Construction: 1600-1606), built by the Matsumae Clan, so i hope we might get to see something that mentions this occupation of southern Hokkaido
We do not know enough to call Atsu a Ronin. She just looks like one. We do know she's wanted and being hunted by Ronin. My theory is that she's already a sort of Ghost. She's wanted, yet obviously elusive. Probably a revenge story of sorts.
I wanted to see Ghost 2 take Jin to China to try and take down Kublai Khan. Mostly for the potential cool biomes like the Gobi Desert, The Mongol Steppe, and places like Jianjiajie Stone Forest. And he could also meet Marco Polo, who was there at the time. But I'm super cool with taking on a new protagonist in Hokkaido!

One of my favorite fighting theme is " The Way of the Samurai " from the first game. Like this music right there, was a masterpiece. And man I hope they gonna make new bangers for Yotei, can't wait
I also wanted to see jin continuing his story, but the idea of jin becoming a legend is pretty great and the idea of playing as a character who dosen't have his morals might be intresting, perhaps it could be a redemption story, her learning from jin and becoming a more honourable fighter

I'm currently playing Ghost of Tsushima on PS5 for the first time. Wow! What an incredible game. It's absolutely stunning to look at. The combat is the best I've ever experienced in a game. The Dualsense makes the combat feel so immersive and visceral. Stunning! 💥

I'm happy your excited for this potential masterpiece to release next year also don't let all the nay sayers sway your excitement for the game, it's SP and they don't usually make bad games so I truly believe this will be one of the better games to come out in 2025 along side GTA 6.

Most likely stay int he south/south west of the island as that is where most of the action took place and where the Japanese would be during this time

Ghost of Yotei is probably coming out late 2025, so having it and KCD2 bookending the same year is going to be immaculate for me

I'm hopping that they somehow make ghost of yote relate to Jin Shakai. He's the best protagonist since the Witcher 3. I wish that they made the story of the new protagonist heavily inspired by Jin, take on his passion to liberate their people and for the people.
Maybe the third installment of this game series will return to Jin and continue his story! I think we would all go CRAZY to see him and lord shimura go up against the shogunate.

Shimura (most likely) wouldn't go against the Shogunate when he was willing to kill Jin despite seeing him as his son. Jin wouldn't really have any reason to go against the Shogunate himself. He took the path of the ghost to protect his home. It had nothing to do with any personal conflicts with the shogunate. He could go after them purely because he is being hunted by them, but that would be a superficial and not very compelling reason imo. I think Jin went through a complete character arc and is completely fine to leave GOT as a self-contained story that leaves the final decision in the players hands.
@kevinkijowski5980 I believe Jin opened shimura's eyes in their final meeting. Shimura has two options now, either continue to be a slave to his honor and likely be forced to commit seppeku (or however you spell it) or join forces with Jin. As far as Jin I know he would get tired of being hunted and with the second Mongol invasion he would have a reason to go to the mainland.
Still looking forward to Shadows more because of the dual protagonists and seasons, but I guess that's pending on finding out more solid info on what they're adding to Yotei, and could be cool to play Shadows then Yotei since they're so close chronologically

A lot of people are hoping that this is just a spinoff and that jin's story will continue in new GOT games but, no I don't think thats what's going to happen and I hope so too, jin's story rapped up PERFECTLY in my opinion and I don't want it forced to continue, GOY is a full fledged sequel from the looks of it and I believe after this game they will continue this trend with a new protagonist and new "the ghost of ___" title and a new setting in Japan's history. also the end of the video was cold as hell

Now that it’s been delayed, it’s AC Shadows for me. Japan is the setting I’ve wanted the most and the world and stealth look excellent. Hoping the writing will be up to snuff
Monster Hunter Wilds is my most anticipated, but after that comes out, it's Yotei because Dynasty Warriors Origins is out January.
I got a lot of Kill Bill vibes from the trailer, one of my all time favorite movies. Yotei is the land of Japan indigenous people and she may be one of them so her being the ghost is probably something like the Weapons in Final Fantasy VII.

Super hype for this game, Atsu seems to be using more then Katana in the game, dual wielding and kusarigama could all be very good additions to spice the game up. This trailer has me searching history for clues about the major events that happened in 1603 Japan.

The ending of this video was beautiful. You simply cannot beat GoT soundtrack. It’s bittersweet to say goodbye to Jin but I cannot wait to play this game.

@@scubasteve3032 I think Ubisoft is just happy with their downfall. All their newer titles are, to most people, wet stinky slop. The only Ubisoft game I recently purchased was AC Mirage and I honestly loved it. Shadows just seems like a disaster waiting to happen.

For me it’s GTA 6. But GOY is 2nd. I played Ghost of Tsushima im November after owning it for four months without playing it and I was blown away. I did not expect it to be so good!

I agree continuing the Tsushima story would be awesome but I think of it like this. Where we will get a new ghost with all the updates and new location but this leaves it to where if they do a third game they will have their pick to continue djins story or the new characters story. Or they will do a new character and progress it even further. Who knows either way I’m on board.

Well the first thing I saw that made me super excited was the fast looking horses (those who played Ghost of Tsushima will probably understand why I'm excited)
All i want from her backstory is a line atleast similairy hard as "Honor died on the Beach"
I don’t really see how that can happen as that line is a rebuttal to Lord Shimura and Atsu doesn’t seem to have anyone like that.
Now I have a reason to look forward to looking for those hot springs. 😏😉

I'm extremely excited for this game, and also i'd like to say that while yes technically Hokkaido isnt in the grasp of the Imperial Court or the Shogunate, the Matsumae Clan does control southern Hokkaido (primarily Oshima Peninsula, the only Yamato/Japanese settlement in Hokkaido at the time) and engages in trade with the Ainu (indeginous people of Hokkaido). Since the game takes place in 1603, its 3 years into the construction of Hokkaidos only castle (Matsumae Castle, Construction: 1600-1606), built by the Matsumae Clan, so i hope we might get to see something that mentions this occupation of southern Hokkaido
Also, Mount Yotei is almost in the Oshima Peninsula, so its not too far fetched

We do not know enough to call Atsu a Ronin. She just looks like one. We do know she's wanted and being hunted by Ronin. My theory is that she's already a sort of Ghost. She's wanted, yet obviously elusive. Probably a revenge story of sorts.

I wanted to see Ghost 2 take Jin to China to try and take down Kublai Khan. Mostly for the potential cool biomes like the Gobi Desert, The Mongol Steppe, and places like Jianjiajie Stone Forest. And he could also meet Marco Polo, who was there at the time. But I'm super cool with taking on a new protagonist in Hokkaido!
