Mick Mars is a riff machine, Too Fast For Love was released before Venom, Slayer, Metallica etc. even released something, I'm a big Slayer fan and they're my fav band of all time, but you can find videos of Slayer doing Mötley Crüe covers because they were actually the first band to combine NWOBHM sound with hardcore punk at that time, than thrash metal was born around bay area but there are 2 years before any thrash album was released and it takes few minutes to listen to this song so in those 2 years I'm sure members of og thrash bands bought and listened to Mötley Crüe
Yep, I remember practically racing to the record store when Theater of Pain came out. I got home, eagerly put it on, and never bought another album of theirs again.
This song still kicks ass nearly 40 years after its debut! I never stopped listening to it either. I can never get enough of the Crue's first 2 albums!!!!!!!!!!

@@kinniwright1642 Yeah thats like going from old Metallica to Emerson Lake & Palmer. I like it all actually, but what a strange reference to make here.
I feel so sad for Mick. Seeing him here and then how he looked when they met up with him for the first time after not seeing each other in years was not only shocking, but heart breaking as hell. I got to see them live at San Diego Sports Arena for the Theatre of Pain Tour. WOW.
I was in my teens in the 70's. In my 20's during the 80's. Lived in San Diego in several year spurts. The Music scene was AMAZING during the 80's. Back in the day, the DUI Laws were fairly lenient. Because at that time there was a HOPPING CLUB SCENE happening with people out having fun bar hopping and parties --EVERYWHERE. With packed clubs it meant huge fan bases for bands that were everywhere. There were HUNDREDS of Bands. Back in the 80's heyday there were backyard Keg Parties almost EVERY WEEKEND. And I mean -- MULTIPLE -- keg parties. And these parties were PACKED with people having fun and living life to the fullest. With these parties it was a very common occurrence to have a live band for entertainment. Van Halen, along with a majority of these now legendary bands, got their START playing these parties. They grew HUGE fan bases and this got major attention from lots of clubs that PACKED them in NIGHTLY. Of COURSE the next INEVITABLE thing happened and Labels came a courtin'. The Music Scene of the 80's were unlike ANY music scene before, or since. Tons of people were out EVERY SINGLE WEEKEND. Bands --- THRIVED. Clubs ---- THRIVED. During the 80's. Then the 90's hit. And the D.U.I. laws went into high gear. I'm not EXACTLY sure, but I do "Guesstimate" about 75 to 80 per cent of all the live venues -- FOLDED -- due to this Clubs were no longer packing in the crowds as VERY FEW patrons wanted to risk being "Popped" by the cops and going through all that ordeal. Bar hopping ceased pretty much immediately. Keg parties pretty much DIED OVERNIGHT as the hosts of these parties didn't wish to be held accountable for any problems thrown their way due to them being charged as the responsible provider of said parties. And THIS is pretty much what happened to live music. I miss the 80's.
Before testosterone was frowned on. Cold Play type bands watch this to get pumped up before they mince on stage. Test by proxy. Good for your daughter.
Shout At The Devil tour was my 2nd concert . Now 51 and songs still just as good now as it was then! Back then to me for someone to be 50 was like old age! Do feel a bit older some days ! So glad some of my teenage brain stuck with me!
Right there with ya (55). So often this song was cüed in the tape deck, volume cranked for the minute the key was turned. Proper after school mood music. Sometimes Dio Stand Up and Shout or some Motorhead.
In my late 40s, and still love these guys. I've seen some kids in their 20s getting into the old hair bands, and that's a good thing. I miss the music and the attitude, but am glad a lot of the old prejudices are long gone now. I'm no SJW, but you have to admit the 80s and 90s were not a good time to be gay or a pot-smoker.
my guy. you did not grow up in the 80’s. Not only is your username so retarded only a child could make it, but also, i think your videos sum it all up.
Ahhh, pentagrams, warlock guitars, goat horn hand gestures, lederhosen... If I hadn't grown up through this, I would swear this video was an 80s parody. Good times.
@@SethBergile Hahaha, what? Venom used pentagrams way before Motley did. Paul Stanley used a Warlock guitar way before Motley. Almost every British band in the early 80s wore lederhosen. Dio used the devil horns sign in the 70s. Motley Crue just took things from other bands.
@@martijnstuart95 First Venom album didn't come out until a month after Too Fast for Love. Maybe live Venom was using the Pentagram but Crue established it on records before them

My father grew up during this bands rise to fame and he followed them religiously. He was a huge fan. Even though I’m a college student now, I pretty much grew up with music from this era and after watching the dirt, I’m hooked. I remember staying up until 3 and 4 in the morning watching MTV for hours back in 1982 in hopes of seeing the rare metal video such as this one. The cowbell fill at 3:03 made me want to play drums.
I spent my entire summer of 1989 home, inside watching Much Music just to try to record "Girl don't go away mad" on VHS ! It took me almost two months to finally be able to do it so I totally understand you !
Eh, I would not put them into glam rock category , Motley is SO UNIQUE AND ORIGINAL , that they have their own genre of music - motley crue rock!!! Because if you look closely on what they sing and how they sing and how they play it *-there is nothing like it !!!!! Other bands super clean and eh , motley -dirty, super sexy , raw , full energy , street , don't give a shit about nothing like !!!!! Wooohooooooo!
seen it 3 times already...can you imagine if they would have made a tv series in 4 or 5 episodes and really take the time to put the book on screen?? But it was very cool...
I've been watching all interviews and The Dirt movie did an awesome job incorporating some of their stories. Nikki banging Tommy's head off the table. Wasn't done in the bar like the scene in the movie but with the interview over seas.
This album is their best work, if you ask me! Unlike their other albums, they captured a specific sound. Like Def Leppard did with "Hysteria". They've only made your basic Rock/ metal records since. Nothing you wouldnt expect of them, anyway. But, with this album, they defined what the future was at the time. "Too Fast For Love", has a flow and a feel that they missed with thier other works. Its a true masterpiece in my book!
It remember when this came out. So raw, so real. It was like nothing before. Combined with the visuals, the stage presence, it's no wonder they were a phenomenon. Good times.
They knew they had something special. This was all the works of Nikki. He totally put them over the top.Later on he almost made it all collapse.Look at the rawness and energy they put into this all 4 are truly LIVE WIRES!!!!
The whole deal where he claimed he and Lita saw books levitating, because he honestly was just blasted out of his mind... pretty lame. Yeah, FU Nikki. You might have created the best rock band, but you also killed it.

I lived through that time, and couldn't get enough of those bands. Saw lots of concerts. Still love the music and listen to it. Judas Priest, Motley Crue, Quiet Riot, Dokken, RATT, Great White, etc.
My uncle got me into Motley Crue when I was very young. I am so grateful for that. It's amazing how awesome they are still, after all these years. I've noticed many comments by young people here. That's so cool.
My mom actually gave me her Girls Girls Girls shirt from 1987- when she saw them live. (She gave me tons of other shirts, but I've rambled to enough people in the comments about that!) That sort of introduced me to them. I knew who they were when she gave me the shirt, but it took me until now to fully listen to their music. I just within the past two or three weeks became a fan, and I already have a favorite-- who is also my mom's favorite. My mom has introduced me to a ton of bands, and im grateful for that.

In 1980 on September 22 I turned 16 and that night I went to see Van Halen . I went on to see many more awesome bands like Priest, Dio, Poison, Cinderella, Ozzy, Armored Saint, Ratt, Maiden , Deep Purple, Rush, Aerosmith and many more. All of those shows were phenomenal, but I have to say that Motley Crue stands out in my memory for many reasons. I did not go to see them specifically,, I went to see Whitesnake, but the Crue tore it up and blew them off the stage.Tommy Lee did a drum solo with his entire kit rotating 360 degrees for over half an hour, Nikki Sixx thunders on bass, Mick is an unbelievable guitar player and Vinces vocals and performance made my jaw drop. They were so energetic, fast, loud, hard and sexy. They were groundbreaking pioneers that are now living legends. Motley Crue made everyone feel "Alive". My heart breaks for anyone who could have seen them but didn't.

There are so many other bands i would have loved to see from this era though bit sadly most of them wont happen :(
It was amazing. First concert was Motley Crue and Y&T. General admission and we crammed up to the stage. Probably only a thousand people there.

As a Death and Black Metal fan at heart, I can safely say that Crüe definitely got something right on their first two LPs.
When they were real metal
That was the cocaina
The first two albums were raw af.

Lmao I'm not old ummm ya ur old as fuck.
Man must've been great to see music on MTV instead of pregnant teenagers 😂
Van Halen, along with a majority of these now legendary bands, got their START
playing these parties.
I'm not EXACTLY sure, but I do "Guesstimate" about 75 to 80 per cent of all the live venues -- FOLDED -- due to this
Clubs were no longer packing in the crowds as VERY FEW patrons wanted to risk being "Popped" by the cops and going through all that ordeal.
Bar hopping ceased pretty much immediately.
Keg parties pretty much DIED OVERNIGHT as the hosts of these parties didn't wish to be
held accountable for any problems thrown their way due to them being charged as the responsible provider of said parties.
And THIS is pretty much what happened to live music.
I miss the 80's.

This one and the self-titled album with John Corabi, are their best works! Both recorded excellently! A "sound", captured! Great works on both!
It remember when this came out. So raw, so real. It was like nothing before. Combined with the visuals, the stage presence, it's no wonder they were a phenomenon. Good times.
Interesting to see them at the start of their career. Notice no tattoos on them either, so it’s going way back.
They knew they had something special. This was all the works of Nikki. He totally put them over the top.Later on he almost made it all collapse.Look at the rawness and energy they put into this all 4 are truly LIVE WIRES!!!!
He actually has made it collapse twice so far. He's a fucking nut job.
The whole deal where he claimed he and Lita saw books levitating, because he honestly was just blasted out of his mind... pretty lame. Yeah, FU Nikki. You might have created the best rock band, but you also killed it.
