Meg you’ve really taken your vlogging to the next level! Beautiful camera work (thanks Pete!), you let the story unfold with minimal talking, the music choice was ‘chef’s kiss’, traveling to another country to broaden your horizons, and sharing it all with us. Thank you!
This is some of the best work you have done and well done Pete for the camera work. I have been lucky enough to visit Iceland several times from a cruise ship but also a short winter break in the snow and to see the Northern Lights. It is a magical place and your vlogs are bringing back so many memories. I will never get to ride the horses so it has been wonderful to learn so much about these gorgeous animals.
This is so beautiful! I fell in love with Iceland and Icelandic horses when I was 8 and despite being classically trained (English) and the entire barn I was at looking down at me with my ‘untalented pony’, I didn’t want any other horse when I finally got my own at 11. Mind you, we both quite enjoyed jumping and did a few events together where the judges commanded us for her spunk and speed. She really didn’t have an off button. I later changed stables to an Icelandic only stable and learned the Icelandic gaited riding and I’ve never looked back. These horses are hearty and full of heart and simply one of a kind. When I was little I thought they were Viking horses (because they’re descendants kept almost pure) and the way they’re raised and the place they’re from is just magical. :)
For anyone wanting to go riding in Iceland, DO IT! It's so worth it. The program I rode with had a free running herd with us for a couple days, it was amazing. Also riding the tolt is such a unique experience...I totally wanna get an icelandic pony for myself xD
I love how he sorts them so gentle , most would just rope them anf they get so scared .. he is such a gentle trainer , and wow they just walked right into that door!! That blew my mind !
Omg what an epic experience Meg!!! It just keeps getting better. And hats off to Pete his videography really shows the stunning countryside and horses. He’s done an outstanding job
I just love this outlook on life and on horses - it really is a case of “trust the process” here 💕 I can only imagine how amazing it felt for you to be walking those two ridden horses, with the two young wild-ies following along behind. It’s like something out of a movie! Thank you again for sharing this fantastic experience with us 🥰
I've been following a lot of different people who train horses and there are so many different ways but it all comes down to understanding that horses are herd animals and they like the calm. It's been such fun seeing yet another horse trainer and I am so glad you had this wonderful experience. Thank you for sharing this with us.
This is stunning again Meg and beautifully shot by Pete! It’s a testament to herd management and how to ensure horses aren’t too stressed and that it’s a positive experience…
I watched the Episodes of Alyssa's quest to ride all the different breeds of horses in the world, and she too rode the Icelandic ponies. I do not recall her explaining how dufferent the style of ridng them was to most horses/ponies as you were shown in part one. Quite an experience!!
I have been wanting to go to Iceland for so long and after watching this video I definitely will be adding list as a list to do. Thank you for letting us experience this!
I rember when I had to do that but on a much smaller scale and I was the only one doing that with no horse I had to get 20 icelandic horses into 2 different fields and it could be so crazy you did a great job. The feeling when they all tölt by you and you feel the ground shake is a feeling I will never forget.
I love seeing influencers spreading educational videos about Icelandic's I ride them in the Uk! If you ever wanna ride them in the Uk send me a message!
What a cool, smart and kind way to cut horses from a heard. So impressed! And as others have said, I feel like after geologist and food critic, Pete can definitely add cinematographer to his resume! Really well done everyone!
Just loving these videos Meg you did so well in the pen it was awesome to see the wild ponies going into the barn never thought they would. Some great shots Pete, looking forward to the next one.
More of this quality of content please!!! Just to echo what the others have said above. You’ve a budding presenting future ahead of you if you ever wanted to go in that direction. Super camera work just brings it all together. Well done both. So much horse-related content out there for you to explore / educate people on Meg. Touring the world, riding different breeds / learning about their people / their environments. Others have done it but I thing you’d bring a breathe of fresh air to it and bring so many more people to the part! Watch out Matt Harnacke / Jesse Drent - there’s a Horse World TV Channel I’d sign up for here too 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Absolutely beautiful video! And an amazing choice of music too, never can go wrong with Sigur Rós ☺️ highly recommend watching we bought a zoo if you like this type of music
Working with mustangs in the US I have a very different idea of wild horses. Still, this is so fascinating to watch! Thanks for sharing this with us Meg and Mr Iceland! And thanks to Pete for filming!

Mr Iceland?? Yes, I have seen earlier videos of him & friends riding in snowstorm. This was really awesome! You had a very, very special experience! You must know & be confident of your horses to manage this. Bravo, Mr Iceland. But the horses are not wild like a mustang. They do not fear humans as do the mustangs.
These wild horses have chilled temperaments compared to the North American Mustangs. Or is it all about the round-up system shown here -- no helicopters, screaming cowboys with ropes etc...? Very cool!
Can we all just give a huge round of applause to Pete for the filming?! Amazing content and amazing cinematography! Well done both of you!
