reading a few of these comments. for the people tht havent explored the manual and have double tappin pads and dnt wna do this press ur global button>press arrow key right until u see pad threshold> "the pad threshold" = amount of pressure needed to trigger a pad aka press harder to activate. "sensitivity" = the amount of change in pressure aka amount of pressure that is read by the sensors
How exactly was that one pad attached improperly was it misaligned or was there an air bubble I couldn’t see a difference when I rewinded? Thanks for the video
Howdy, glad the video helped! The sticker was off on one of the sides so part of the pad wasn't properly covered and there was a little excess sticking off the opposite side. So misaligned definitely. I wished it were easier to get them lined up!
@6:27 at didn’t see you put in a extra pair of MPD PAD CORX SENSITIVITY CORKS in your Unit & I wanted to know why ? Cause I’m gonna order the fat thick pads for my Akai MPD26
Nice video, those fatter pads looks good 👍🏿 but I’m not going to do that because I also own both the 226 and the 218. What i would like to know is how come Akai did not make these two controllers to light up on their own after I’ve recorded a track for instance: in flstudio , MPC Beats etc. ??? Ive seen drum pad controllers that light up with the beat. How come the 226 just stay’s lit? It changes colors when I press the pads but thats about all
They do still work but, unfortunately I haven't really been using it as much. I could never fully get rid of the ghosting and dupes I was getting, so I ended up getting a Maschine Mikro mk3. I still keep this one around and will bust it out if I need more pads but it was hard to rely on for recording. So it didn't really get rigorous testing
Thanks for this walkthrough, it's very helpful. Did you notice any difference regarding the ghost triggering pads problem on the MPD after this upgrade? cheers
Sorry for the delay, this change, with the corx, did feel like they gave me a little more control over what notes ghosted and stuff but unfortunately I couldn't find a perfect solution that left the pads as sensitive as I needed and didn't ghost. I ended up with a Machine Mikro mk3. It has its own set of weird issues which I can't be certain weren't just my computer but ultimately it does work and the pads are so much nicer to use out of the box!
I have that double triggering thing in one of my pads by default.. do you think I can fix it by any chance? (I dont wanna install thick pads I just wanna solve that double problem)

Kind of surprised you didn't try it first without the corks to see what it was like, and then you'd be able to comment on the difference afterwards.
Been looking for a vid on this … thanks
Thanks for making this video
No problem! Happy you found it useful!

Still working great with no issues ?

How'd you make fl studio pads those colors
There's the program you can download to change color
The on/off colours are set by app, they can be different for each patch and bank.
They do not change colors under midi control...
How did thr double presses play out . . . Mine does it already from the box...
