The message in this song is actually really straight forward: The right-wing extremists are gaining momentum and if they are in power, they will destroy democracy for good. you misunderstood the point when you said this video is about us just being spectators of politics and there is nothing we can do- the song states the exact opposite. It says that democracy is the most powerful weapon that we have but it doesn't work without us as it literatly means "rule of the people". We the people have the power and we need to use it!
Die Ärzte is a great band ❤and this is a really great song. Here is my recommandation (a political song, too): Sei wachsam by Reinhard Mey. You will NOT be disappointed!!! And I PRAY that Kamala Harris is NOT going to lose!!!! 😮
To vote for what you believe in is the most important way of self expression. Do your duty as a citizen of your country, please! Make a choice for a brighter society!

The video is a medley of sorts of their most famous music videos and performances of their career...you should really watch more of Die Ärzte, they are awesome!
How did I miss this?? Watching in Germany. Now it’s only 50 days to the election. Your first prophecy came true - Kamala Harris is running for president! The spectre of a second Trump term is still there but I am confident that Kamala Harris and Tim Walz will rock this! Love from Cologne 😊
it seems to be a loveletter to all their older music videos .. dont know if you have seen more of them but you might recognise some ("schrei nach liebe" at the end or "junge" with the zombi)
you asked for a suggestion about german music video. well, i gotta name rammstein - deutschland then. pictures german history in a visually packed and interesting way and shows the struggle of the citizen to love their country. you might need alot of explainations after it, but its a must watch, specially with you learning about germany
This is better translated loosely than literally: The right to vote is the highest privilege in a democracy. If you don't vote, you may lose this right
Video might be done using AI, but it features lots of older music-videos by Die Ärzte. For me it feels like a Comic- or Graphic Novel- Version of all the videos, clips or iconic moments I've seen before.
Despite from creating awesome music, Die Ärzte have fun turning the knife in the wound. Political punk, fee from stepping back, but hitting right in the face.
Die Ärzte have been around for decades and always stayed true to their punk roots in word and song. This one is a wake-up call to remind people: If we don’t get out off our lethargic, complacent behinds, democracy may be at its end. There are specific hints to the new right-wing party in Germany, still it’s meant as a message to citizens of all nations. You can count on die Ärzte releasing important songs at crucial times - this is one reason why their fans lovingly call then ‘best band worldwide’ ☺️
You NEED to check out Electric Callboy. They're German as well and I'm pretty sure you'll love them. Try Hypa Hypa or maybe their newest collab with Babymetal called RATATATA. It will be a party, trust me :D
Most of the visuals in this video (excerpt for the stuff ripped straight from news casts, like the Trump supporters in the previous election with their attempted coup after the election and sone of the shots from demonstrations), are AI over-paintings of previous music videos by Die Ärzte. So in addition to being message about going to vote to participate in democracy it also is celebration of decades of Ärzte content (and I think with that they are trying to drive home that this has always been part of their message, because as of now there are a lot people who are into punk music who see them traitors who now support "the system").
In this vid, there are some references to older Die Ärzte songs. 2:30 is a reference to their song "Junge" with lots of Zombies in the video. The song is a parent's complain, that their kid is useless. th-cam.com/video/HpOt9DQh8AA/w-d-xo.html 6:36 Is refering to their 90s Hit "Schrei nach Liebe", a great anti-racist song. th-cam.com/video/6X9CEi8wkBc/w-d-xo.html Edit: All time stamps are refering to your upload.
The video was released weeks before the europian elections this year and an interview to accompany it bears the striking sentence: We act politically as a band because neutrality is not an option these days The most part is just a Comic Filter and no AI. There are some images that may pass without really noticing, that weigh heavy on my mind. Like the Bull Head Protestant from the assault on the capitol (Changed to female) sitting in the ovale office and acting triumphant while she gets photographed. They reference a lot of their critical songs either by lyric or by images (e.g. the black child interacting with the guy with white facepaint and a black cross is from ther infamous "Schrei nach Liebe" another song against Nazis) Awesome. Flew beneath my radar, but definitely is now on my play list
The video is a mix of the topics they're singing about and bits of their older videos/gigs, it looks like AI generated but I would guess it's just a filter to make it seem so (as AI is definitely a problem/threat for democracy).
Hello Dwayne, usually I'm a bit skeptic giving my optimism a hard time. But watching when and how Biden stepped back from his candidacy and how quickly he endorsed Kamala Harris, and how quickly the mood within and around the Democratic Party was changing I'm much more hopeful now that we'll be spared another four years of Trump being president of the USA. And I don't even bother about the possible effects of Trump on Europe. Just look at what the Republicans are planning to do according to their program "Project 2025": it's absolutely vital for the people of the USA to make sure that the Republicans won't be given any chance to realise their plans. About "Die Ärzte" (pronounced something like dee aertstae): they started their career about a year before I left school in the mid 1980ies. They were always a bit political and quite outspoken on a couple of issues. That video reminded my strongly of the mood and political climate of the 1980ies - great to see that transferred so aptly to our present time with that video.
Die Ärzte don't do a lot of straight forward political commentary, but when they do they do it perfectly... Love them. Also: Sokrates as one of the old Greeks wasn't a fan of democracy for one rather simple reason... Voting on a matter demands knowledge about the matter...not everybody is suited to vote on everything.

you misunderstood the point when you said this video is about us just being spectators of politics and there is nothing we can do- the song states the exact opposite.
die Ärzte die Beste Band der Welt
To vote for what you believe in is the most important way of self expression. Do your duty as a citizen of your country, please! Make a choice for a brighter society!
I just realised how wild the video has to be for someone who didn't follow Die Ärzte for quite some time... ^^'
if you liked the lyrics and sound you should also listen to "die ärzte - deine schuld" imho it got a similar spirit even tho the song is a lot older. but its one of my favourite songs of all time also bc of its great lyrics
"If you want(ed) Keir Starmer in 10 Downing Street - then you have / had to vote for him" ... ;-)
For me the best son is 'Westerland', same band
Welcome to the most german pop punk :D
it seems to be a loveletter to all their older music videos .. dont know if you have seen more of them but you might recognise some ("schrei nach liebe" at the end or "junge" with the zombi)
you asked for a suggestion about german music video. well, i gotta name rammstein - deutschland then. pictures german history in a visually packed and interesting way and shows the struggle of the citizen to love their country. you might need alot of explainations after it, but its a must watch, specially with you learning about germany
This needs to be followed up by Farin Urlaub - Lieber Staat...
Hey your First conact with the Ärzte? They exists since Abort 40 years their Songs are a fine pice of german Music often politic and often diferent
@dwayne‘s lens take for the next time „die Ärzte - Schrei nach Liebe“. This is one of the greatest song ever
This is better translated loosely than literally:
The right to vote is the highest privilege in a democracy.
If you don't vote, you may lose this right
Video might be done using AI, but it features lots of older music-videos by Die Ärzte. For me it feels like a Comic- or Graphic Novel- Version of all the videos, clips or iconic moments I've seen before.
That Video isn't AI Generated :)
(Parts of it only)
nope, fully AI generated, many parts of it are just the AI remaking old Die Ärzte videos.
#AndreasDorauDemokratie ... also veeeeeeeeery nice
@Dwayne Check out from Toten Hosen "Pushed Again"
I think one of the issues of the video is that it's wrapping up the music video history of the band. So some clips seem a bit random to non fans
u got it just right in the end. This was excatly what the text meant
Thx for watching
Many of this Clips actually are from real Life Clips
It says use your right to vote, otherwise you might never vote again 😊.
Its not AI generated, its an real video of the real artists with an art (comic effect) filter.
In this vid, there are some references to older Die Ärzte songs. 2:30 is a reference to their song "Junge" with lots of Zombies in the video. The song is a parent's complain, that their kid is useless. th-cam.com/video/HpOt9DQh8AA/w-d-xo.html
6:36 Is refering to their 90s Hit "Schrei nach Liebe", a great anti-racist song. th-cam.com/video/6X9CEi8wkBc/w-d-xo.html
Edit: All time stamps are refering to your upload.
From the future I can tell you. Wait for the first debate.
youi have to react to Junge - die Ärtze
The video was released weeks before the europian elections this year and an interview to accompany it bears the striking sentence:
We act politically as a band because neutrality is not an option these days
The most part is just a Comic Filter and no AI.
There are some images that may pass without really noticing, that weigh heavy on my mind.
Like the Bull Head Protestant from the assault on the capitol (Changed to female) sitting in the ovale office and acting triumphant while she gets photographed.
They reference a lot of their critical songs either by lyric or by images (e.g. the black child interacting with the guy with white facepaint and a black cross is from ther
infamous "Schrei nach Liebe" another song against Nazis)
Awesome. Flew beneath my radar, but definitely is now on my play list
The video is a mix of the topics they're singing about and bits of their older videos/gigs, it looks like AI generated but I would guess it's just a filter to make it seem so (as AI is definitely a problem/threat for democracy).
Hello Dwayne,
usually I'm a bit skeptic giving my optimism a hard time.
There is only one God: BelaFarinRod
Die Ärzte don't do a lot of straight forward political commentary, but when they do they do it perfectly... Love them.
Also: Sokrates as one of the old Greeks wasn't a fan of democracy for one rather simple reason... Voting on a matter demands knowledge about the matter...not everybody is suited to vote on everything.
We
Can
do
FFS go vote
If you still need German songs to react to:
Alles wird gut - Toten Hosen
Adriano (letzte Warnung) - Brothers Keepers (Kollabo of some Rap artists)
Kopfsteinpflaster - RAG
thats not post apocalyptic stuff, thats reality, evil^^
The band die ärzte have always been very political since many years.
