For anyone trying to learn this technique, forget the others and do at least some of Diane's videos first. She is the best instructor by far. This painting looks impressive even when you screw it up.

And the fact that she and Bob became friends and that she was also friends with Bill is serene because it’s like she bridged a big gap

I find myself mentally cataloguing things like pull, pressure, stroke type, contrast, eye direction etc. Have started my 2nd painting with a very bold sky and feel the need for some umph in the clouds and trees. Can find no better than her and Bill, though I'm staying away from paint thinner and allowing my paint to dry in a well-ventilated area because I don't think it's safe. Thanks for uploading!

shine01120 Magic Black and Black Medium are the same thing. It is a thin oil based medium.
