I watched this lovely program every day after school, and I really paid attention. He made me dream of painting when I was little, and as soon as I was old enough to actually begin, all of the episodes that I absorbed earlier really stuck with me. To this day, I still paint, and I am an old lady now ❤
Same with Bob. He taught Bob and handed the reigns to him. I think arguably Bill was technically more skilled. Bob would paint 3 for each show. One maybe 1 1/2 hours, then another to refine it, then he would do the their quickly for the show. Bill probably did the same thing. It’s like taking notes.
I love Bob Ross greatly, and have watched close to every episode. Bob is actually a type of therapy for me, and I greatly admire and respect what he brought to the TV with his calm, peaceful demeanor. I would never hold ill will towards him. He remains rather unmatched in that category. But the fact remains that he largely cloned everything from his original teacher Bill Alexander--in technique, style, and overall approach to the art in the same time constraints. I greatly enjoy watching Bill, as he was and is the modern pioneer. He started the whole darn thing, and I'm old enough to remember the show.
Love the story Bill made up as he went along. Poor Mr. Hillgruber. 😂 Bill has done justice to him with this beautiful work of art. Bless you Bill. If it weren't for you I never would have had the courage to pick up a paintbrush. ❤❤❤
I love Bob Ross but Bill originated this technique and trained Bob. I love them both. Bill should get more recognition for firing in the art! The inventor of happy little trees and the almighty brush! Love you Bill!
I watched it with great excitement and pleasure. This is a very realistic painting and the details are fascinating. I wish you were alive right now and I had a dream to paint with you one day.
Dunno if I'd say he stole it, wasn't he his teacher? More like ross was an excellent student who was heavily inspired and for what reason exavtly I don't know but gained a wider audience.

I used to watch him on my PBS channel, thanks for putting him here for others to see. He hasn’t finished the sky and I want it on my wall.
Bill certainly is the master. He left his mark for future generations. I still cannot figure out how he can paint so much in less than a half hour.

I love it every time Bill mentions what will sell (and sometimes what won't). It is some of the most valuable advice in his videos.

Aww thank you for your comment and your appreciation of Bill.
This is the best painting on the channel. It lets you learn each piece of equipment and it gives you confidence! That is how you get good!
Thank you Richard. I love this video. I lost Bill’s original “Hillgrueber’s Farm painting in a house fire.
Gosh that is rough! That would have been priceless.

@tigadirt I don't know if Ross was his student. I have seen many of Bob Ross TV shows, and not once does he thank Bill.
@@roncaruso931 no i did have the same thought myself
@@SKarlsson true, it does almost seem surprisingly out of characture for him not to have givin at least a nod to whom came before

Bob Ross was a borrower. He did a wonderful job, but stole everything from bill.
Bob was hired by the comany Bill started to keep up the sales of magic white.
