Holy Diver: At the title screen hold down A and B and press start, that decreases the difficult a little (not much, but a little, it takes the edge off essentially). Plug a controller into port 2. On the very first screen, get to the top of the tree. Hold down A and B on controller two, then hit start repeatedly on controller one. Each time you pause and unpause the game, you will get an extra life. You can also do this at the top of the tree before the first boss. You are never meant to have more than 9 lives in this game (counting all of the 1ups throughout the game), so the lives counter in the menu will be "giberish" after 9 lives. Hope that helps.
I never had the dancing flower as a kid but my Dad did buy a dancing Christmas tree in Macy's on 34th Street in the early 90s. It too had the signature sunglasses. It was a choice between the tree and a dancing Coke can. I was in a festive mood so I asked for the tree. But I could totally see Mike going for the dancing Coke can. 😂
Showing Toad getting stretched in the thumbnail picture is a smart move. I know a lot of people who would enjoy seeing Toad get tortured. People who are otherwise normal, rational, sane human beings. I don't fully understand it, but it is a fact.
Aaaaaaaaaactually Doki Doki Panic is a promotional game where you play as one of four Japanese corporate mascots, so if it had not been converted to SMB2 it would have had zero chance of a Western release, it barely even had a Japanese release. Best case scenario, maybe someone would have romdumped the game in 2005. It's also a slightly different game from SMB2, for example it has no run button, and it has no Clawgrip boss (instead you fight Mouser a third time).
Shinobi is Joe Musashi. The puzzle at the end of 8 Eyes is NOT that hard. You have to put the gems in a wall in a particular order and they give you clues throughout the game as to the order of where they go. If you can't figure it out, watch a playthrough on TH-cam.
57:29 I remember playing "Door Door" on one of those bootleg NES/Famicom game consoles. I couldn't figure it out the mechanic of the sliding doors.😆
It's a tricky one!
@@ErinPlaysExtras Yeah, including the jumping timing too.
Erin and Mike, the dynamic duo, yayyy is going to be an awesome video thanks guys
Teamwork makes the dream work.
Thanks for playing them Erin!
Really fun stream, would love a somewhat regular stream of obscure NES/Famicom titles no one even heard of.
Any chance for an erin & mike MSX variety stream? 😁
that would be fun since I haven't dug into the MSX library yet!
I would be very down to join in on an MSX stream with Erin. Good idea.
Interesting games played. Thanks.
GREAT VID YOU GUYS THANK YOU AS ALWAYS!!!

Ah, good to know. Thanks!
Nobody in chat immediately recognized Muttley from Wacky Races? I was watching that on the USA Network cable channel, in 1991.
Toad being tortured is kind of disturbing 😆😆😆
I believe Mutley was able to do the tail fly in the original cartoon. So, Sonic definitely ripped off that maneuver for Tails.
😳
Don Doko Don is a Taito arcade game that has that same hammer guy. It's 2 player & single screen.
don doko doko doko don doko doko doko

Poor Toad. He's just trying to exist and we mess with him😭

I know how to play Door Door before when I was a 8 year old child on 76000 in 1 Plug n Play since 2009

Random NES games are cool
WHOTS YOUR BEST NES GAME
This yume penguin should be retitled "Fat shaming-the game". Does look fun though.
What do you guys like to eat on a date?
